The flag at the world cup.

I'm an exiled blue in London, and wouldn't really have bothered with the world cup (being an Evertonian, not an England fan) but for the flag. The warmth I got from knowing our numbers were everywhere vastly compensated for England's shambling mess of an effort. And your right about it being the best PR. The retards round here don't understand the beauty of evertonia, there too busy mincing about talking about Chelsea and all that rubbish. Anyway, keep up the good work - I'm impressed by your sites depth more than anything. Best, Zac.(05/07/02)

World cup behaviour

Before we get carried away with ourselves about how well every one behaved themselves in Japan and Korea, I think the cost of travelling that far was a great deterrent to the so called 'fans' who follow their respective countries with the sole object of causing trouble The real supporters did make the effort to raise the large amount of cash required to support their teams, and as always supported them in the correct manner. I fear it will be different in Germany for the next world cup, I can only hope I am wrong.
Again like Mickey Blue Eyes I can't wait for August (or with a bit of luck to slip in a few pre seasons) to start, and with a lot more confidence this season than last.

So we cannot even afford Breen?

Right enough is enough! OK, I am not particularly arsed that we have not signed Gary Breen but, its the same old story isn't it? Could not agree personal terms, really means we offered fuck all as usual. He will probably now sign for someone like Charlton, who will offer more than the minimum fucking wage! I have just shelved out to renew my season ticket and I am already totally fucking pissed off.

Are we still haggling over £1m to sign a new keeper? Does anyone know what the f*** is happening with that particular circus ? Where are our new sponsors? Have we really been approached by anyone, to advertise
their name on our shirts? Where is the new strip? David Moyes says no-one is leaving, are any of you actually looking forward to watching shit like Gemmill, Moore, Pembridge (they are not even good div 1 players), I could go on about our playing staff (remember the disgraceful half-arsed displays against Leicester and Blackburn?). We don't even have a left sided midfielder at the moment, but more left backs than you could shake a shitty stick at! Then the Nyarko fiasco, don't get me started on that one again!

How many season tickets have we actually sold here? Are we any better off, since getting rid of that t**t Johnson? The answer is are we bollocks!

I have written to this site many times, in particular to praise David Moyes, who seems everything you could want in a bright young manager, he says the right things and seems very professional. But, unfortunately
the club is run by a bunch of half-wit morons. He will probably use Everton as a stepping stone to a decent job, we are the most second rate kind of Premier League club you will find, it breaks my heart.

Scouting

Why everybody keep moaning about the fact that we do not have the money to bring world-class superstars to Goodison.I know this hurts, but just take a look over the Stanley Park and you`ll see that the big price tag alone doesn't guarantee quality. My fellow countryman Sami Hyypia cost £1.5 million less to the red bastards than Alex "they realised I'm crap,I want my mummy" Nyarko did to us.The rs could have bought almost any defender in the world but they went for Sami.I bet none of the Everton scouts hadn't even heard of him before Pool signed him.Instead of buying some bigheaded established superstar moron, they decided to go for a down-to-earth kind of bloke from Finland and saved at least £7-8 millions !Now he is their captain! WHY THE HELL WE CAN'T DO THAT!!!!! Don't get me wrong,I'm not here to praise the shite. I hate them as much as you do, but the example of Hyypia makes it seem obvious that there is something wrong with our scouting
network. We never find players who have the potential to become leaders both on and off the field. It makes us look stupid and we don't deserve that. When the money is tight you have to be extra-careful what you do with your pennies. We are a massive club but unfortunately the likes of Ballack,Ronaldinho or Buffon won't be wearing our shirt next season and we'll have to cope with Gemmill,Moore and Gerrard instead. That has to
change.Because we can't buy the stars,we have to find them before they become ones.Easy for me to say,I know, but we've got no choice. Jussi Nieminen, Finland

where does all the money go at Everton

I would just like to ask where does all the money go at Everton, I mean we all heard of this new 30million bank thing that Chelsea and Leeds took out over the years but the difference with there's is the money went on players ares just disappears.
To make some cash we should get rid of the people like Tal, Gerard, Moore and buy class players.

Groundhog Day

Two points to make. Firstly that prick Nyarko claiming we never liked him because he was married to a white woman. What planet is this muppet on, no one realised he was even married and no one even cared , it was simply because he was shite and he never showed any pride in wearing the blue shirt. Considering his ball control in the box IM surprised he met anyone foolish enough to marry him. Secondly I want to comment on the lack of new signings . considering that we were less than average lst season it is unbelievable to think that we have not brought much needed new faces into Goodison yet. Its all maybe Poom and hopefully Breen etc. Its not good enough. Take man shity for example Anelka, Schmichel and even Bolton getting in on the act, where as we are sitting static trying to budget a measly£5Million. Its pathetic. What about koumas, Kilbane, Zamora and all the other talent we should have tied up by now. Looks to me like we are in for another long hard season, smacks of Groundhog Day. Now the world cup is over why not start trying to sign some
half decent affordable players from the likes of Senegal. Even the Japanese player released by Arsenal could do a job for us for if we don't our 101st year will not be in the top flight. Call me a pessimist if you want, I think
IM a realist. I just hope that Poom signs and Breen is impressed enough to sign for if I was in his position the lack of ambition shown by the board would certainly deter me from signing. Seems the Nil Satis Nisi Optimum
ideology is something only us the fans believe in. I just hope our great club proves me wrong.

Puma

In my search for a release date for the new kit I visited the Puma web site and was disgusted to find that the company that makes millions out of Everton shirt and merchandise sales can't even be bothered to update the Everton information on there web site! According to PUMA we are still managed by Walter Smith hope he's still not getting his training kit sent to him, mind you he can send it back it's not if he'll ever use it.

Foggy Chant

Just to let you know that the foggy chant was sung by one Chris ??? from Ryders garage in Bootle circa 1985. we had been out on the ale and were at home next day to Arsenal. He is proud to be one of a few street enders to know the words – no one else seems to. Macca. (01/07/02)

I want Ronaldo

Just a quick message to Ant Bushell, who wished that Giggs had decided to play for England. Sorry mate, he wasn't elligible in any shape, way or form. Using your theory, I wish that Ronaldo, Totti, Maldini, Raul and
Hernan Crespo had chosen to play for Wales. Cheers. Sion. (22/06/02)

Youngest blueboy??

I know this is a strange kind of question and nothing to do with the world cup, but I want to know if my beautiful blueboy son Thomas was the youngest ever at a match at Goodison? He was there at the start of last seasons campaign(?!) against Charlton at the age of 8 months old!! If anyone knows of someone younger please send a message to Bluekipper - brilliant site lads!! He watched us win 3-0 on the night and was thrown in the air (and caught) when the Big Fella scored, what a great start to his career watching the best team I know!! Colin (22/06/02)

No Spine

Why the f**k are we letting that t**t go out on loan again? Has this shithouse not caused enough embarrassment for all concerned already? He should either be sold NOW (cash payment please), or made to f*****g rot, unpaid and unwanted. For a club that are so f******g skint, we don't half piss about don't we!

Who ever agreed to this crap should me made to give a full explanation to all our supporters, as to why this has happened. Are PSG more skint than us, I f*****g doubt it! Get your cash out you French f*****s, Monaco have taken the piss, how do we know they are not going to do the same?

We operate at times like a rag-bag f*****g outfit, and our transfers over the last few years have been nothing more than shite. Can we get someone in in who knows how to run a f*****g football club please! Get some f*****g common sense and values back into the game! Tom Coleman. (22/06/02)

Let's Sack Nic

Was wonderin' As Ahn Jung-Hwan was sacked by his club for scoring against the country of his employers, should we follow the same example and fuck Nic off. Maybe then, if there is a God, Joe-Max will grab one against us in the final giving us another opportunity to offload some shite. As for Gemmill, pity Scotland didn't qualify after all. Great site fellas, keep it up. S. Walsh. (20/06/02)

Tommy's Epitaph

Did anyone notice on the BBC World Cup website, describing Zidane's plight during the fateful Denmark " his lack of fitness was summed up in the opening half when he was outsprinted by Everton's Thomas Gravesen." Vicious but fair. Gregg Ainsworth. (20/0602)

IOO Years & FA

Gents This may interest you? Like every other Evertonian I am pretty pissed off with the fact that no-one
give a shit that we are the first and only football club in England to spend 100 years in thte top flight. Now I am sure that if the redshite had done it or the mancs had done it then there would be parties all over the place all paid for by Sky TV and the Premier League. But because it's not them and it's Everton what do we get???? sweet FA. I sent an e-mail to the FA premier League to ask them if they had any plans to celebrate Evertons Achievment their reply is attached below.
By the way I was just on toffeeweb and that site is so f#/%ing boring compared to yours.
Keep it up. Call Y'self an Evertonian? John.(20/06/02)

Subject: RE: Everton FC and 100 years in the English top flight.

Dear John

Thank you for your enquiry about Everton Football Club's achievement of playing the top division for 100 years.

Whilst there are no plans for an official commemoration at the FA Premier League, Everton are planning various ways of celebrating this fantastic achievement themselves. Their plans have not, as yet, been finalised, however, if you contact Tracy Weston, at the Club, she will be able to give you full details within the next few weeks.

Yours sincerely

World Cup Melting Pot

With the World Cup well under way, how about asking us supporters who Moysey & Co could consider for being part of a major reconstruction of our team? One current player that springs to my mind is the South African and Stuttgart player, Bradley Carnell. Your Thoughts? Blue Phil, but in the Sun (Cyprus). (20/06/02)

Yosser the Aussie

Fair enough mate. Blame Kipper if you're fed up of my mails, each time I meet him he encourages me too much ! Thought I'd been a bit quiet to be honest, but point taken. we all have our opinions, and as soon as this world cup is over we can get back to what we ALL believe in.Fair enough ?? Park End Bill. Think about it...

Having just read through a handful of the emails regarding the Irish insults etc.. calling the Irish team plastic paddies or phoney celts etc... I have 2 words for any Englishman who also agree with this kind of sweeping
generalisation : Owen Hargreaves.

Has Owen Hargreaves ever lived in England? I believe his dad was born in England, I dont know personally if he qualifies for us in any other way. When it was time for him to choose, he was eligible to play for England,
Wales, Canada and Germany (possibly more I cant remember), he probably has more of a case to play for Germany as he's lived there long enough to qualify as a citizen, but you can bet your arse if England were to get through to the final and play against the Germans and Hargreaves were to score the winner, he'd be as English as the rain in Manchester.

I do not support the Irish national team and never will, I am English. I would rather see the Irish do well over other teams, especially Germany or Spain. We, none of us who read this website particularly support say Bolton or Charlton, but if they batter the redshite at the onion field, they'll be 'alright' with us for at least the duration of that season. Why is wanting the Irish to do well against a larger European rival any different?
Do we really care whether Andy Townsend or Jason McAteer have an Irish accent or not (are we gutted they didnt 'choose' England?? - didnt think so..). On that note, as an Englishman, I have only 2 regrets where players have made a choice, 1. Ryan Giggs and 2. Stuart McCall. The word wasted doesnt even come close.

Finally, I have no issue with people who dont want to support England as there's no Everton players involved, (is that Sven's fault or the succession of clowns who've had some input into the well-being of EFC down the last few years), but the words 'up' and 'grow' do spring to mind. I couldnt care less if the England squad consisted solely of Arsenal, Manc and redshite players, actually the starting 11 against Denmark represented only 5 clubs! To me, they are England players when they wear that shirt, NOTHING ELSE. Bring on Brazil!

Soon to be returning from Shanghai, PRC (where so far Ive seen 2 EFC shirts, and 1 RS!! hah!)
Ant Bushell. (20/06/02)
