to Your Hold You Nerve! After
Saturday it is easy to be disillusioned and wonder what is going on but
as Davie Moyes is doing we have to keep our nerve. Open Your Wallet It is a joke that the season moyes had last season wasn't rewarded with a european spot or any money from kenwright, (like we were anyway!) why do players choose to go to teams like boro an charlton who have never won anything worth talking about? What happened to all the talk of John Carew, Delaye, Chapuis AND vareillas? We donut need Savage he just runs around he has no real footballing talent like Scott parker, david dunne. How can we miss out on him an a team like birmingham get him. Its time to open your wallet bill! 1 jak. (01/09/03) Moyes - patience running out ? Quotes
from our manager recently appear to me to be sending warnings to our incompetent
board of directors. I have seen items such as 'there is no way I will
commit this club further debt for second rate players- however I would
like to be able for a little extra cash to bring in the quality players
required for Everton We have read about the alleged wanted list : McManaman,
Jeffers, Ferguson, McCann, Davies (OK he obliged the board by failing
a medical), Reyna-all have found new clubs-we now await a goalie-a player
who turned down Everton previously whilst being interviewed in a warehouse
in Wallasey ! Self Fulfilling Prophecy There
is no doubt at all that David Moyes will wash his hands of our club within
the next 12 months if we cannot demonstrate an ability to compete in the
transfer market. He will go with our greatest gratitude, from the moral
high ground and walk straight into a position made vacant with the sole
aim of putting him in place. Would anybody like to take a bet that by
the end of the season Martin O'Neill will move on from Celtic (probably
to Liverpool) and David Moyes will be sat at Parkhead in the blink of
the eye. The Derby We really need to spend if we ever in a position to overhaul the shite. The midfield is by far the most important area that's needs strengthening (why doesn't Davy give Osman a go?). If the Directors are unable or UNWILLING to support the manager/club they should be courting the Russian Billionaire who wants Blackburn, he could buy a proper club!!! Gazza. (01/09/03) Everton Transfers.....What's going on? I am so p####d off that Moyes has not signed anyone! We finished 7th last season which was superb but if Kenwright doesn't give Moyes a decent amount of money to spend then i can see everton at the bottom of the league, accepting a bid from the shite for Rooney and Moyes resigning! We have just signed Nigel Martyn who would have been great maybe 6 years ago but now i don't know. I expect a very hard season ahead of us if we keep buying has-been's!!!! James Young. (01/09/03) Take A Risk! OK, firstly I would like to point out that I understand we have little money to spend on players and I agree with Moyesy that I would rather save what money we do have rather then spend it on below average players. But am I the only one who would rather stay at Goodison and re-vamp the place for cheap than save all the cadbury's we have accumulated for the ground switch. I mean what was the new stadium going to cost? £300-odd million? I know we were not going to pay for all of it but we must have some loot in the kitty as we should have already started building the damn thing according to early plans. If we don't strengthen our team, we are not only going to be left behind by the top 5 teams, we are also going to be overshadowed by mid table teams, like Man City and Blackburn even Tottenham have spent a wad of dough this summer. Things seem extra bad because we got snotted by the RS yesterday but I hope we can keep it together for the rest of the season, if we don't we will slip further down the table and make it even harder to attract new players to our club. The excuse that we wont sign expensive players on big money due to the fact that if we get relegated we will go bankrupt seems pretty lame when u see West Ham and Sunderland who were able to rid themselves of their big earners still beating teams and paying all the wages without a problem. The time
has come to do something risky, it worked for City, it didn't for Leeds
but at least those supporters have had some good times along the way (champions
league etc). Anything has to be better than the humdrum existence we face,
especially when we get our noses rubbed in the s*%£ when we fail
miserably to compete with our nearest neighbours. GBHammy.
(01/09/03)
Tea & Biscuits Club One pissed
of evertonian, tell me... we sell out every home game have a tremendous
away support...WHY...have we got know fucking money to buy descent players. Smokescreens & Shambles At the moment Everton have got more chance of signing the fucking Magna Carta than signing a new player. We are becoming a laughing stock again by are own ineptitude. The people who are on the board should be made more answerable to the public, I'd like to ask the board what am I supposed to do with the fucking priority vouchers for the new stadium from my season tickets. This once a year AGM should be made into a meeting every three months with proper fucking answers to the fans as I am fucking sick to death of smokescreens to keep us happy. As for yesterday our players didn't look fit enough to compete with the shite who had one of there poorest teams for years and we blew it. Just before the shite scored why did our goalie hang onto the ball with the Rad screaming for it. Why didn't we field our strongest side from the off leaving Tommy on the bench was Ridiculous and we paid the price and as we know we will get shit off the Red Shite fans for it I am fucking sick. Chris Simpson. (01/09/03) Shambles! This
3-0 defeat at home to the Liverpool is the worst derby result I have endured
since I began supporting Everton in 1984. Actually, it reminds me of reading
about the legendary 5-0 hammering they gave us at Goodison in the run-up
to our last glory era, although I'm not mad enough to suggest that this
latest humiliation will precipitate a similar revival. 1. No
bloody midfield. Out of our entire midfield, there is nobody worthy of
our last title-contesting side. Unskillful yet scrapping "dogs of
war" midfielders are, as a potent match-winning weapon, a thing of
the past. The top flight has moved on from that, with the Premiership's
present proliferation of foreign players replete with supreme skill and
passing ability. We have NO-ONE in our 2. A
dodgy defence. You don't try to play the ball out defence when under pressure.
You hoof it up the field as far as you can or out of play, but you don't
try anything remotely fancy. Also, you man mark lethal strikers like Michael
"Evertonian at heart" Owen, rather than stand back and admire
"the boy wonder". And if you're a goalie, you aggressively,
assertively, testosteronesquely, make a confident, decisive move for the
ball, not go all dizzy at the last moment and make it easy for the opposition.
Yesterday's 3. No
new players! Yep. That's right. The mighty Blackburn Rovers, Birmingham
City, Manchester City, and Middlesbrough can all outbid us for players.
Not only that, they can all organise season-long loans. Why did we not
get Mendieta, Zenden, Smertin, or Carlton Cole on loan? Why did we not
sign Claudio Reyna from Sunderland or Dunn from Blackburn or Ferguson
from Rangers or Joe Cole from West Ham? Are we truly that impoverished?
I am sick, sore and tired of Everton being linked with exciting, skillful,
flair players, only to see them join non-entities like Middlesbloodyboro
or Birmingslum City. And all this talk about Macca, only to see him join
a team with about 400 quality midfielders while we're stuck with Pembridge,
Naysmith, Carsley, Li "I can never score" Tie... even Thomas
Gravesen has always flattered to deceive. If I were Moyes, I would be
sorely tempted by any offer from Celtic or any other genuinely ambitious
club, for he's bound to be, like the rest of us, SICK OF THE SPIN AND
EMPTY PROMISES FROM In closing,
the blame falls at the feet of the board. They are the ones who are RESPONSIBLE
for financing the club, therefore it is their duty to provide the resources
to undo the mess we're in. Now get this friends. WE ARE NEVER, REPEAT,
NEVER, GOING TO GET AHEAD OF LIVERPOOL, NEVER MIND MAN UTD, UNTIL THIS
CLUB GETS BANKROLLED ON A PAR WITH CHELSEA. Got that? So by all means
continue to support Everton and rave about Wayne Rooney (while he's still
with us), but do not be deluded. Our club will remain under a long red
shadow while we have a board whose own interests, be they power and control
or whatever, are placed before the interests of the fans. When oh bloody
when are WE, EVERTON FC, going to get a Russian or whatever nationality
Billionaire? Why must it always be somebody else, like Chelsea and now
a pissy wee club like Blackburn? And check this out for sadness. When
we come away from Anfield later in the season with a point, we'll think
we've made progress! To hell with all this patronising crap! We are EVERTON!
EVER-bloody-TON!!!!!!!!! 9 times champions! In my lifetime described as
the greatest club side in Europe (by Hans Krankl of Rapid Vienna). What
the hell has gone wrong? Say, somebody gotta do something. And fast. True
Blue For You. Jon
Woods. (01/09/03) Stand Up & Be Counted Just waking up after an almighty all dayer to help ease the pain of yesterday's shambolic display from the blues. But what's this I hear?....no need to panic...the transfer drought is over. Apparently Nigel Martyn is on his way to join the blue ranks....Nice one to the board for eventually seeing sense and backing Moysie to the hilt in his attempts to bring some quality into the club. You gang of useless bastards should be ashamed...How much longer do you think the man who has brought some pride and passion back to Goodison will put up with this shit? It's time to stand up and be counted. Dave Cooper. (01/09/03) Wanted - Hard Nosed Business Man Do we
need a hard nosed business man at the helm of this club to complete a
high profile signing? And with the signings that we do make are the agents
going to be more competent at negotiating the terms meaning we get stitched
up like the Ferguson / Campbell situations? Just a thought. Blue 4 Ever
-J Lewis. (01/09/03) Not Another Goalie Can i just say well done to simmo for his fine derby performance considering the shite he had in front of him. Michael owen is " reportedly" one of the best strikers in the world so please tell me why that for both of his goals no one was marking him?????? i hear we're in for nigel martin now?? what the fuck???? there is room for improvement throughout the team but goalkeepers?? defence and midfield and a new tall striker is needed not a friggin goal keeper. most disappointed blue. paul. (31/08/03) Blues V Shite Forgetting the score for now, it was quite plain after 30mins. we are a million miles behind the shite. If we don't bring in better players, i.e.: ones that can actually pass a ball, we are in shit street. I cant see how Naysmith and Pembridge are the right type of player for Everton. It's now time for Duncan to earn his keep or ship out. We haven't any money because we can't sell the rubbish because on other team wants them. Something needs to be done and done quick. Mike Kendrick. (31/08/03) Utterly and Completely Pissed Off The latest hammer blow is the statement of ambition and intent by the Manchester City chairman following the signing of McManaman. How cruel it is to be an Evertonian lumbered with the useless visionless and gutless board of directors we have. We have an excellent manager and a disastrous chairman and board of directors. Where do we go from here? Mid table must be top ambition with this second rate squad. Brian Flack, Chester. (31/08/03) It's a fuckin PR exercise Did anyone
actually believe we would ever sign Barry Ferguson ? It was all a ploy
to appease us. He's on £28k a week at Rangers and our ceiling is
£20k. Why even make a token bid ? Because we want us to be seen
to be bidding for these players. McManaman.. linked for ages, then he
signs for the Mancs, we didn't even get a sniff, or probably wanted him
to take a 75% drop in his wages. We are absolutely desperate for a midfielder.
I have got to the stage where I see Pembridge on the team sheet. New Signings WHY WONT ANYBODY SIGN FOR EVERTON?? IN THE LAST TWO DAYS ALL OUR TRANSFER TARGETS HAVE EITHER STAYED PUT OR SIGNED FOR FUCKING MAN.CITY!! HOW HAS IT COME TO THIS? DAVID MOYES MUST BE TEARING HIS HAIR OUT.WE NEED TO KNOW THE REASONS WHY WE ARE SO UNATTRACTIVE TO EVEN THE MOST ORDINARY OF PLAYERS. DOES ANYONE ELSE THINK DAVEY WILL GET FED UP WITH LOSING OUT TO SUCH GIANTS AS BLACKBURN AND CITY? STEVE. Get Moyesy The Money! Whilst sitting here drinking my beer thinking about the lack of transfer activity at Goodison this year I thought to myself surely our mountainous debt that we had and restructured must be diminishing fast. This in itself is the only positive I could come up with about the clubs finances. My concern grew somewhat when I took my old Casio calculator out of the bottom drawer and started to work out where all the money was going. I remembered the figures being touted around a couple of years ago that we were about £20m in debt after the Johnson era. We then went on to sell Ball to Rangers for £6m, Jeffers to the Arse for £8m (+£2m later if I remember correctly), Barmby £6m and a few others. This equates to about the amount of our debts. Within the last couple of years we have spent no more than £10m on new talent for the club. This leaves us with about £8m of debt by my rough calculations. I guess
that with gate receipts on average gates of 40,000 at £25 a ticket
over 19 home games of the year that produced revenue of £19m. Plus
with all prize money from the Prem last year must be £5m with TV
rights and another £1m for sponsorship, which leaves us with £25m
revenue. The board must have recently received about £15m in season
ticket receipts too. Thus taking the If we assume on a worst case scenario that our Johnson debt was not paid off but restructured we'll probably pay no more than £2m per season. The club is owned outright (at least I think it is) and lets assume that the running cost per game is £100k then that amounts to another £2m spent.......... which leaves us (with very basic financial assessment) with £13m. £13m in the bank - and being prude you would need a fair wad for the wages over the year but the point it...... WE CAN'T SIGN ANYONE!! And what's more everybody else bar the Magpies have. It can't be long until Moyes starts to get a little irritated at his inability to operate in the transfer market. My point is - I know we don't have a Jack Walker or a Roman Ibrahimovich unfortunately but we do have the best young manager in the league and we must ensure that he has the tools to do the job. Come on Bill, you and your mates must have £5m or so to give Moyes! 4 Ever Blue - J Lewis. (31/08/03) Moyesy must be fuming So what
the fuck is going on with Kenwright. Yesterday his ' i will give my right
arm for what my manager wants' is looking like more bollocks after Blackburn
agreed a fee. Moyes must be fuming, he went all the way to Copenhagen
and then didn't even get the chance to speak with the player. It seems
Kenwright loves to give a quote but backs it up with nothing. The transfer
closes at 5pm monday and we have got no-one, we are crying out for a strong
midfielder. Stephen Pearce. (31/08/03) Fuckin Shattered Don't
know what to say my head is absolutely bolloxed. If the shite have problems
ours are 10 x worse. What's going on? Mcmanaman to City, Carew to Roma
(no big surprise) Barry Ferguson to Blackburn? (we will do whatever we
need to to to get him here!!!!) Problems signing Yobo and Li Tie (even
though they are with us any way). 28,000 season ticket sales, no one wants
to play for us? Alexandersson, Unsworth, Gemmill, Campbell, Ferguson on
megabucks fuckin useless fuck them off. The board are in a shambles when
you need leadership where is it, Mr Fuckin theatre only comes out when
the going is good, when there is finance issues and transfer issues when
do you hear from him.......NEVER, when the going gets tough the the theatricals
nob off. What's happening over Goodison? As you can probably tell I am
well pissed off, I hate the shite more than anyone I know, but at this
moment in time I would like to hear from someone other than The Moyessiah
about what is happening to our great club. Transfer Nonsense The Blues
transfer efforts have reached legendary status over the last few years,
so we have all become used to the daily emotional roller coaster that
other supporters only experience on match day. We buy five newspapers
a day, read BBC text every 5 minutes, search every site on the Internet,
listen to dodgy (Labour influenced) radio stations and watch Sky Sports
News (Labour) - all in the hope of a snippet of transfer news about the
Blues. Well, yet again its all been in vain. |
