New Signings - New Dawn

Looking at your piece about Mcfadden before the Scotland game and Iain Turner getting elevated to the bench over Simmo (injured kicking a ball - muppet) he really looks like Big Dunc when he first came to Goodison, strong, fearless, not afraid to say what he thinks, and has an onion - there are too many 'yes' men around. He also know what an influence he can be to the younger ones, you can see the young lad worshipped the ground he walked on.

With Turner you feel it's right, if he fills out and gets his hand in, we'll have an international goalkeeper of some renown. Reminds me of Southall in some ways, and from what I heard from the Rhyl reserve pre-season he was outstanding, exceptional. The vision of Moyes is exceptional.

Couple more weeks of gelling together, and plugging those holes, we're going to be dark horse material, well UEFA anyway, which will do me nicely.

As for ground share, sit and spin, we're bigger than one ground, we are the blue pride - no pinky twats sitting on my seat every other weekend, thank you. ta! Rich. Welsh Blues. (19/09/03)

Referees

Quote from Mickey Blue Eyes: "Usually I try to avoid criticising referees, odd comment apart. By and large I believe we have a good standard of refereeing in this country." Where the bloody hell do they hide them? Mike Kendrick. (16/09/03)

Kings Dock

Firstly thank you to M.B.E. for taking the time to pull all the strings together and point us in the right direction even though at the death it condenses to C'est la vie.

It has become apparent over the last decade or so that the business of putting together a proposal or a bid for any large scale project has become a business itself, witness the capital of culture (successful for Liverpool but not for the other cities who also spent millions of euros)and the inevitable bid for the olympics and the 2000 and never world cup. Politicians will jump on any feel good bandwagon and the people will follow it.

Liverpool vision and the other Quangos have had their fill of the waterfront with the fat cats licking their cream filled whiskers at the very least two years not inconsiderable salary and the prospect of adding another completed bid to their worthless C.Vs . The business of business will prowl on looking for the next opportunity,Knowsley or Speke anybody.

we must not let the guilty go blamelessly into the night,it is wrong to accept the miserable statements issued by Liverpool Vision and Everton focused on funding without any enquiry into Houston Securities and the lynchpin of the whole sordid deal Paul Gregg . The prospect of getting any truth from the matter is slim however the crowd at every home game should ask politely for answers.

Follow the money .

Does M.B.E. see himself as the deep throat or Woodward and Bernstein . He asks questions that deserve answers but why do I think he already knows them? Conspiracy theories always lead upward , all this needs for a Daily Mail front page is lottery cash and an asylum seeker.

Goodison Park has to go...soon. Now we look for second best while looking second best again. Thanks again to M.B.E you keep on writing and i will keep on enjoying reading. Les jackson. (05/09/03)

Ivan De la Pena

With Moyes still looking for a top central midfielder, why haven't we made an approach for Ivan De la Pena? He has been released from his contract with Lazio and, with experience in Italy and in Spain with Barcelona, would be a huge coup for us. As he is not contracted to a club, we can of course pick him up as a Free Agent even though the window has passed, although he is apparently in talks with Benfica. A more than adequate replacement for Pembo if we decided to go for him. J. Middleton. (05/09/03)

Where is the creativity ?

Hate to be negative when we have just brought in 4 new players, but where is that creative player in the middle of the park and another centre half ? Mcfadden should be good, dumbo and the duke could work well together ( apart from the fact they cant hold the ball up ) Martyn should be ok for this season and should up the concentration levels for Wright but Kilbane was a Sunderland boo boy target, seems like a perfect replacement for pembo!

If Moyes gets his wish he should see Davis and Gravesen in the middle of the park, i suppose Graver could be the creative player if he finally starts to play like he does for Denmark. And i suppose Kilbane is a natural left winger with international credentials so should do a bit better than a left back playing out of position.

I personally can see the Rad leaving at the end of the season to finance the Jeffers deal. Bit unfair on the lad who has worked his socks off like no other last season and was top scorer to be replaced by ankle boy who didn't know he loved Everton til he realised he was never gonna get a chance at Highbury. The email from Andrew Colding sticks in my mind. But on the positive side Franny was great for us and he is a million times a better finisher than the Rad and better off the ball and alot younger.

What i noticed against the sh***e was that there was nobody in the midfield comfortable on the ball apart from Tommy who was too confident. Leon Osman seems good on the ball and creative, surely with enough workhorses in the side we can allow for our lightweight youngster- just one more thing, an experienced solid reasonably quick centre half to partner joey- Alan and Davy just ain't good enough anymore. John Reece. (05/09/03)

Jeffers - Not Wanted

Does anyone for one minute think that if jug ears was getting a game at Arsenal he would give us a second thought. Would he fuck. The big eared one is a mercenary and refused to pull our blue shirt on at one stage, so what gives him the right to pull it on again? None whatsoever. That's why in fact I'm surprised he didn't sign for the shite, I for one do not want him back. Dave Lynch. (05/09/03)

The Jeffers Return

Just a quick on this i didn't agree with the way the both Everton and the cockneys handled his departure. He says he didn't ask for a transfer, but everton say he wanted more money. The bottom line his he relised he made a big mistake and know he has got alot making up to to every one at Everton. He says he is a big Everton supporter. Well now I think everyone deserves a second chance, he's and got a very big one.
So lets not boo this kid in the blue shirt when he makes his second debut. Lets get behind him
and get the best out of him its only fair on this great club that we get the best out of the players. All 11 of them when they come on to the pitch. It can be the best partnership around if given the support. Jeffers Rooney - mouthwatering. Hayley Denson. (05/09/03)

Moyes Is The Man

One of the best managers in the game today is Ferguson by a country mile. This is a man who has shown his talents with Aberdeen before his Man united days. I would Love to see the boys spending millions cope with a shoe string budget. How long would they last? The reason I say this is my admiration for Moyes can only get better the signings made me believe this is the real article. Bill you have found a gem keep on being a blue. (05/09/03)

Jamie McFadden

Hi bluekipper.com its chris here from bolton a lifelong evertonian I'm just writing to say that i think that Jamie Mcfadden is an excellent signing for the blues i watched him in a under 21s match and i thought he played outstanding and when i found out we was linked with him i was even happier. REMEMBER BLUE 4 EVER ! Chris. (03/09/03)

Forgive & Forget?

Here is an article i found written by a blue after the arsenal game in 2002 just to remind every one about Jeffers.

I thoroughly expected us to get pasted, three or four without reply. Truth be told, I didn't really care. Arsenal are very good. Champion, you might say. We, on the other hand, are verging on the better side of bollocks. Better than we were, but still with a long way to go.

So come what may, I simply wasn't arsed. We went a goal down and I was too busy nursing my head. 11 am is too early for me. Far too early. I won't be doing it again. We levelled and then nudged ourselves in front, before they pulled it back to 2-2 and it was game on. We played well enough over the course of the game, without ever really looking like we might actually win. Arsenal played within themselves, and it was apparent they could step it up if they had to.

And hands up who knew Francis Jeffers would have a role to play. From the moment he got off the bench I thought to myself "bet he scores".

I was disappointed that we let him go. Yes, it was a lot of money for what is basically unproven talent, but lets be honest - we all know he's got it. Whether or not he realises it is a different manner, and he's certainly been powerless to show off his undoubted potential following what was effectively a season-long injury. But if he stays fit and his keeps his feet on the ground, he could be an absolute diamond.

All sorts of rumours surrounded his acrimonious departure. Money. Lack of ambition on the club's behalf. Walter Smith. Probably doubtless more libelous allegations and accusations, too. But at the end of the day, we saw a young kid going somewhere to win a bit of stuff. I couldn't begrudge him that.

What really pissed me off today was his reaction when he scored what ended up being the winner. Not content with celebrating with the home faithful at the North Bank, Francis proceeded to de-robe, before turning to the Everton fans at the Clock End, and indicated the score with his fingers to us all. Presumably for those of us who had just come in late.

Up until that moment, I had no real gripe. I'd always been jealous of him. He was one of us. A lad who'd grown up following us from the terraces, supported us with his heart, and been blessed with talent far beyond that of his young peers. A talent so great that as a young kid, he ended up living our dream. I wanted him to succeed, because I'd wanted to do the same as him. Granted I was fat, slow and untalented and so the call never came.

But it did for Franny. This young talented kid had been charged with custody of both his and our dreams. It mattered to him how Everton did, as it would matter to us. If we lost, he felt it like us. If we won, he celebrated like us. Or so I once thought.

Never again.

In that single gesture, that needless turn to our fans, the unnecessary goading and the look of smug joy on his face when he did it, he confirmed to me that they are all the same. More concerned with the size of the next pay packet than anything else.

The club he loved. The fans he loved. The team he grew up supporting and representing. My fucking arse.

Francis Jeffers, you sold out today, and you showed us what we meant to you. Thank you so much. What a big eared twat. Andrew Codling. (03/09/03)

Dumbo & The Duke - Dream Team

On Jeffers, having heard various stories about how Smith & Knox handled the youngsters (eg. Ball being forced to take career threatening injections into his knee), I have every sympathy for Jeffers wanting off when he did. We can all fall out with our loved ones at some point in our lives. I'm delighted he's back. He was the best runner off the ball I'd ever seen at Everton - he reminded me of that other Everton fan Ian Rush who - I can say finally admit to myself - was brilliant. With a more creative midfield, or using Gravesen in a more creative way, we might see the nippiest attack in the league. I love The Rad but he misses too many chances. Two proper Evertonians up front. Imagine how good it will feel to get some revenge at Anfield in January with those two scoring. Next up: Michael Ball, with Hibbert on the right. Andy. (03/09/03)

Not Good Enough, Bill

I'm sorry but Bill Kenwright has to go. I hear that he "persuaded" his board to cough up an extra £500.000 to be added to the £6Million for Barry Ferguson. That is a pathetic amount!
Kenwright (if he is a blue) should demand that Paul Gregg, Arthur Abercrombie and the other aging cronies on the so called board to cough up.
We have the 2nd best manager in the country, who guided us from 15th to 7th yet they wont give him more than £5million to spend. That makes me as an Evertonian feel sick.
After the defeat at the hands of that lot on Saturday, I would have asked the board to give him the cash to spend to get at least one quality player in. We have bid (according to reports) a derisory offer to Birmingham for Robbie Savage. If I was Moysie I would resign on deadline day and leave Everton in the lurch. I'm sure Moysie would be backed by many.
Also, Jug-Head & Nigel Martyn? Who signed them; Walter Smith? If Moysie had cash there's no way he'd sign them.............
C'mon Kenwright, Tell the truth..............cough up or ship. J.Cannon. (03/09/03)

Fans Transfer Fund

Like all Evertonians who could not get to the game on Saturday and had to watch it surrounded by red shirts, and like the rest who feel unease and a sense of impending farce due to the inaction and pig-headed incompetence of our board, I am feeling seasick this morning. The sneering of the pinkies, whose team had a reserve player at centre back who cost almost more than our record fee for a player, And the Robbie Savage bid makes me want to lie down in a dark room, although I am not alone in trusting this manager, whomever he decides to sign.

As he has shown, Mickey Blue eyes has some insider knowledge of the power games that are currently paralyzing our board and subsequently frustrating our manager. I am wondering whether the Evertonians who are experts in financial and legal matters can use their knowledge to set up a scheme allowing the fans to create some sort of fund to give to our manager. This would present a very public display of discontent with the incompetence and disinterest of the board AND show our manager that we, at least, recognize his talent and support him. Or the club could get around all of this by selling a limited addition SOMETHING or other at £100 a pop – a signed piece of plastic shit w costing nothing to make and advertised as a Transfer Funds Momento or somesuch - that would generate instant funds for Davie. 30,000 – 60,00 Evertonians, £100 each = money for players. Dunno how legal all of this is.

I would give £100+ tomorrow towards a transfer kitty, although given the seedy and greedy past actions of some of our board members, my £100 and the donations of thousands of other Evertonians would probably be swallowed into some sort of Gregg pyramid scheme to pay for a submarine escape pod for his yacht, the Dontgiveafuck, or for an aluminum talking vibrating robot pony for his daughter, Adelphi Carsaleperson Gregg.

Yeah, I know we already pay out a lot of money for our football, but being surrounded by pinkies lording it thanks to the money of the bastard son of OUR John Moores fuckin hurts, especially after watching the spoilt twats on Saturday.
Paul Power Returning Knackered After A Run Down the Wing. (03/09/03)

Keep Wayne Out of Harms Way

The greatest moments in your life you never forget. One happened when Wayne scored his 1st goal for England. To see a young man from the place of your birth, put on a show for England. Makes your hair stand on end, he really is the real article. Please look after him. The pitfalls for a young man are bad enough but having loads of cash lots of time we all know what that leads to.John Lea. (16/09/03)

Have Faith In Moyes

I think Moyes has done a great job, don't forget we have a 20K cap on wages so way pay Shaggy 29K a week, he's 31 years old fer fuk sake, you want another player draining the clubs wages for another 2-3 years! Moyes is buying bargains Mcfadden was a quality signing, Yobo, Li Tie, Jeffers, Kilbane. All young and dirt cheap. Please remember EFC is some 25 mil in the red, we cant afford the wages these media hyped players cost, Joe Cole, Barry Ferg, Steve McManaman all on 28K plus per week. We cant afford that shite and rightly so.

Have faith in Moyes last years result was tops but do you really think we can achieve the same result this year round ort even better? I think we can equal it but until the likes of Kevin Campbell and Big D are off the wage bill it will be another two years before we make it. Rico. (16/09/03)

The Board and The Ground Share.

Great site lads (and lasses) but thought I may throw my tuppence h'apenny worth in about the latest 2 debates...the Board and the ground share.

First the Board. I know fans feelings run high on this issue but I personally (and this isn't with blue tinted glasses) cannot lay blame for our current financial predicament with them. The financial problems that we have, have been with us for a lot longer than this current Board have been in place. Sure I hear a lot of fans wondering why some of the "millionaires" on the Board haven't put their hands in their pockets to bail us out, but lets be realistic about this. As much as I would personally give funds to the club, even if I had say a float of £5m, would I give £1m to help out, I think not? Anyone looking at these people would probably think otherwise, but I am a realist...I would also challenge anyone who has say a spare £1k in their account, to give to an EFC fund (as previously suggested by another blue) say £500.00 to help support the Blues. Quite frankly, £50.00 would be more like it, but would all blues give that freely, again I rather think not. It's OK saying you pay your way through the turnstiles, but if you wanna ask from one side, you gotta be prepared to give yourself.

As for the ground sharing, I also share the same view as those supporters who would welcome this idea. 15 years ago I wouldn't have given it a second thought..what, sharing with the RS??? No way...but times have changed. This is no longer the "working man's sport". We need to get away from the idea that we could never share the same stadium, and instead think of all the financial possibilities that this may hold. We had the chance to do this years ago, and it got rejected. I honestly believe we need to take advantage of the ECCC 2008 and build a stadium that will generate funds for both clubs..50/50. If we don't then believe me, we'll still be talking about this in 10 years time because I really don't think we have the finances or the plans to build one. If we have, then I'd like to know when and where it will be built. So far it's all empty words.

Thanks for the great site. It's only through forums such as this that Evertonians can share their views. I don't get down the pub much to get into a debate about it! lol. Dave Gerrard. (11/09/03)

Blue Heaven

Less of the Dumbo! Call ya self a evertonian. One goal and he is the leading under 21 on his own, and with rooney the youngest ever england goal scorer ever were in blue heaven. I heard Radzinski is going in january for 5 to 6 million, He is nearly 30 so its good business i suppose, and then its savage and davies to come in. RHarrycharles. (11/09/03)

Buy Analfield

Reality speaks and the reality is we need a new stadium. A stadium that is shared by us the r/s and local government is the only forward for us. We cannot and will not ever build one on our own, look at Arsenal and they have had success. Man City rent from the council. They fell lucky, we are not that fortunate. Many people on Everton's board are prepared to keep this club still. Some are allegedly well off in the money department but don't seem interested in helping the club out. Goodison Park has had her day, she is outdated and to many obstructed views for the modern fan. Swallow our pride and go for it or we will never see the days of trophy winning again. Just on another point, if the r/s move on to Stanley Park, I would buy their ground and rename it the St Domingo Stadium. They have built three new stands recently, all we need to do is build a new main stand and change everything blue. Remember, we do not have the money to go and build from scratch, we must think wisely and not be stupid.
Dave T. (10/09/03)

Inept Board

I know how difficult it must be replying to e-mails. Well done you guys are doing a great job. I thought I might use this opportunity to discuss certain issues with our beloved EFC. I think we need to use this forum to express our dissatisfaction with the board which has proved to be professionally and financially inept over the years. There is no place for these dinosaurs in the ever-competitive and financial world of modern football. For a club our size it is very disappointing that it is run -in respect of our media and
marketing potential- like a throw back of the 18th century. This is the root cause of our problem. We have a player that hails from and plays comes for a country of 1billion people; We have one of best young players in the world; We have a player that hails from and plays for the world's most populous black country. Yet looking at the way we struggle financially and our inability to generate funds and attract players, you will come to no other conclusion that the board is completely useless in its failure to fully utilise this huge potential.

Who is Sir Philip Carter? When have you ever seen him promoting the club's profile. He is no Abramovic, we are not getting a new stadium so what is his purpose exactly? Kenwright is just a blagger. For God's sake he is a theatre impresario you would think that he will know a thing or to about PR. We only tolerate him because we hated Johnson so much, anybody will do. He is exploiting the 'die hard Evertonian' crap but not matching that with the resources that is needed for the club to move forward. We finished 7th last season just losing out on a UEFA spot. It is incredible that Man City, Boro even Birmingham are able to sign players that we are interested in.

Finally we have a club captain that has neither plays because he is injured nor gives interviews and therefore has no media profile (see The Observer's article on Yobo 7/9/03 or Sylvain Distin's interview with Football focus showing Man City's new stadium). Lets remember that Ferguson's tiff with the media had nothing to do with EFC. Despite being a long time ago, we have showed him love, loyalty adoration and paid him a huge sum of money but have got fuck all in return. What has the board done about this? Fuck all!

We call ourselves Evertonians? I think it is time to put these dinosaurs down and search for a more professional and financial astute person(s) that will improve us both as a football club and a good business proposition that will attract investors this will in turn attract higher revenues more fans and better players and consequently more success and more revenue. If we don't we will die on our feet. If our assets (Moyes, Rooney et al)do not see an end to the current incompetence, they will look somewhere else and who will blame them. Lastly, I hate to bleat on about it again but I hold the board responsible for tacitly condoning the racism that has blighted this club. Their failure to take robust action ( just like everything else) has allowed it to fester that it has become part of our identity.(from the days of chanting Everton -all white!. Please I implore you to continue to speak up against this so that people like me can come with my friends and our kids to watch our beloved team. After all it belongs to all of us. Absolutely gutted losing to the shites. But hey Life is a bitch Tonnes of blue for ever. Abi. (10/09/03)

John Carew

Thought you may want to update John Carew rumours. He has just been reprimanded by the Norwegian Head coach for beating the c***p out of Redshite Riise on the Norway team coach. What a top lad! This is surely a good Omen and Moyes should pursue his interest in the Ferguson replacement next summer when his loan at Roma ends. Top site boys! Charlie, London.(10/09/03)
