Back
to Your After a press conference at Goodison this morning, Moyesy just wanted to talk about the forthcoming Leeds game. Reluctantly after many questions concerning the future of Franny Jeffers, Moyesy confirmed that he will no longer be welcome at Goodison. Under FA rules though, training facilities must be provided for the striker, so it looks like the youth team will have a new training partner till he returns to Highbury on June 1st. Listening to Arsene Wengers comments as well, it definitely looks like Jeffers will be looking for a new club there as well. Below are some comments that have been sent to bluekipper.com. Has the big eared one, been dealt with harshly, or has he had it coming to him. e-mail bluekipper.com with your views. (12/04/04) Official Club Statement says: "Following a misunderstanding with regard to team selection for the game with Tottenham, Everton can confirm that Francis Jeffers held talks with manager David Moyes on Friday night. During the course of that meeting Francis made certain statements with regard to his future, indicating that he no longer wished to play for the manager. In an attempt to resolve the situation David Moyes met with Francis for a second time on Saturday morning, giving him the opportunity to retract his statement - something he chose not to do. Francis Jeffers' loan spell from Arsenal will end on June 1 when he will return to Highbury." (12/04/04) Arsene Wenger says: "I don't know what has happened but what I do know is that Francis Jeffers is on a year's loan at Everton and cannot play for us. Anyway the problem concerns him and Everton and not us. I've not spoken to him at all because he is not our player again until the summer. I've not spoke to David Moyes either, but if he wants to me then I will obviously do so. It is a communication or disciplinary problem, which only involves Everton and not Arsenal." (12/04/04)

I've read Mickey's comments about the ears.
I would like to add one or two other comments of my own. I was disappointed
when * The man is, evidently, not a true Evertonian - as many people on this web site, i believe are - he not only blew his first chance at the club, but his second chance as well. Nobody deserves two chances at such a great club like Everton. He blew it. Lets hope its the last we see of him. David Leatherbarrow. (20/04/04) Just read susan hoey's email What a load of rubbish I have had the displeasure of Wingnut's company and five minutes was enough, what an arrogant little snake. I hope we show this scumbag the door. He's come back because Arsenal have turned there backs on him as we should. The further away from Rooney this guy is the better. Andrew. (20/04/04) * I'm a long life Evertonian. I think we shouldn't have even got him back off Arsenal. He wanted to leave us in the first place. So for all I care he can rot in hell the jug eared judas. To all the evertonians out there , KEEP THE BLUE FLAG FLYING HIGH !! Alison (Mossy). (20/04/04) * I'd just like to say, as a good friend of Franny, any of you who have sent e-mails in, completely disgusted with him, need to give the lad a break. He's one true blue and his heart is at Everton. Maybe that's the reason he has come back, whether he is splashed all over the papers for "crawling" back. He doesn't care, but the one thing a footballer needs is their fans support, and right now, he's not getting it, and what has he done wrong? He's a good footballer, doing his job for the period he is back at home, so I think all you true Evertonians just need to take a step back, think about your words, and give him a break because he really is one great individual trying his best to please everyone and gain a permanent place in his team for the short time he has left here. Come on guys, if you were in his position, not getting your game, and having the manager tell you you're playing, then you're not, then you are etc. just before the game, it's frustrating and you do lash out, but he's come back, not because he's worried about his reputation, or what other people think of him it's because he wants to, and I think that's what matters in this situation. So cheer the lad on eh, because himself and Wayne are the true blues of the squad and need your support!! (ps: His nickname really is 'Jug Ears', that's a little fact!!) Susan Hoey (17/04/04) * Oi Moyesy!...you should have let the jug ears keep on walking. Jeffers' is a waste of time and everyone knows it. He buggered off to Arsenal chasing the money without a look backwards, he calls himself a blue nose but is only in it for the money. Bring on the young guns. PLEASE don't sign Jeffers when the loan spell is over, send him back with a kick up the Arse. Micky, Perth Western Aus (17/04/04) * The man is, evidently, not a true Evertonian - as many people on this web site, i believe are - he not only blew his first chance at the club, but his second chance as well. Nobody deserves two chances at such a great club like Everton. He blew it. Lets hope its the last we see of him. LBS (17/04/04) * Just read the news that Franny has picked his toys back up and replaced them in the pram. I hope Moyes makes him wash out the bellfield bogs with his tooth-brush. Now we wait and see what us fickle blues think at Chelsea (if he comes on that is!) pete gillespie (17/04/04) *
Jeffers as a case study is a real lesson in the motivations of career
progression being grossly disproportionate to the actual abilities and
realities of the man himself. One comment from Hansen on MOTD that he
is "the new bergkamp" seemed to create a stunning disbelief
that he was better than all around him, and whilst no one would doubt
he did have a good season then, he was a frequently injured player just
making his breakthrough into the premiership. History, as always, paints
a clearer picture of his actions, and provides motive for his career options,
i.e. delusions of grandeur, and of course money. The decision to move
was a personal choice *
Great Site, first of all. Moyesy is spot on with 'Judas'
and i applaud him all the way. I hope 'the duke' will see that this fella
is the one to guide his career. I trust him,the people of the peoples
club trusts him and the fact that the majority of current blues players
keep saying how 'good the team spirit is' suggest the players do.May 'Judas'
now follow that list of shithouses that think the grass is greener and
go on to do nothing for the remainder of their cocky,up their own arse,i'm
better than everton careers. * Gota say he didn't really have a chance, but i can only think that Moyesy would have given him a chance if he deserved it.... He was shite when he did actually play, and he will always be a money grabbing big eared twat as far as I'm concerned.. A tiger never changes his stripes so fuck off back to the smoke you free loading wana be Rooney's best mate twat !! Everton Supporter .... .My arse. AndyB. (15/04/04) * Judas Jeffers is gone and hopefully quickly forgotten.Lets hope Everton have learnt by their mistakes and not go down this rocky road again. He will no doubt blame the quality of players he has been playing with and lets face it,even the Kopite Welsh midget,Owen, would play well in the Arsole side. At last I can clap every player on the announcers team role call before the game and not boo at one…….. Goodbye,Goodridance and we might meet again on a cold midweek Carling cup game, when we are drawn against some lower league minnow………. Walshy. (15/04/04) * I do feel sorry for the big eared gob shite, but it is a lesson for the young blues to take heed of - a lesson of loyalty to the cause. On the one hand, he professes to be a blue, brought up the right way, but on the other, he chose the mighty dollar against the mighty blues, he chose to shit on the boys on the terrace which he professes he came from, against respect, and he shits on the manager who gave the prodigal son a second chance. There ya go lads, never forget where you come from, where your people come from, and what you are made of. Stay loyal to the cause, the family, the friends and the Blues, and you will always be able to look yourself in the mirror, and be proud no matter what life brings. Now as for the wing nut, his career looks uncertain, he is not a blue any more, and he has no respect from the Everton boys on the terraces- He may as well go and join the Taliban. Gerard- Melbourne (Ch12;vs7- 14/014/04) * Good riddance to bad rubbish. Jeffers has had chances this season on the pitch and in front of goal and he has missed them.Six starts he has had, I wouldn't have even let him into the ground. Nobody has ever left our club and returned a better player. The likes of Chadwick, Clarke and Osman must feel it when they really want to play for the club and are prepared to harness their skills on loan with other clubs to better their chances. It all comes down to bad advice from Jeffers agent when he held the club to ransom. It is to be hoped that other promising players within the club will learn from Jeffers mistakes. (J. Warner 14/04/04) *
Hiya lads. I've written
my opinion on the Franny Jeffers saga in a song. It goes to the tune of
Danny Boy. But back
you came when Moyes had taken over , And if
you come, when we have won the Champions’ league, And we
shall hear you crying to come back again Oh Franny
boy, the Nationwide is calling Loving your site, *Em* (14/04/04) * How dare big ears question the manger of the peoples club... if he was that good he's still be at arsenal or have scored enough goals for everton to make sure he started. I hope he goes back to arsenal and sits in the reserves for another couple of seasons....LONG LIVE DAVID MOYES.....Blue Peter. (14/04/04) * He's no fan, he's self-deluded above his station, he's a money grabbing little shit, he's no Rooney, Nuff said! Oults. (14/04/04) *
One of the drawbacks
of being in the theatre is that you sometimes lose touch with reality.
When it's pissing down in buckets outside you try to imitate Gene Kelly
and end up not only getting soaked to the Y-fronts but also sectioned
for doing the light fandango down Church Street. Because BK has seen lots
of happy endings (on stage) and would like nothing more than to bring
one to a football ground near you we get Jeffers back (and Ferguson),
only to confirm what we all knew in the first place - they belong to the
day before yesterday. I don't think Moysie had much to do with Jeffers'
loan but all power to him for standing up for all of us. * Francis is a good player, but nowhere near as good as he thinks he is. Certainly well behind Henry, Bergkamp, Wilthord, Reyes and Kanu. He must have had delusions of grandeur if he thought he was going to break into the Arse's first 11. Wenger made a mistake paying £10 mill, and he knows it. When Jeffers returned I thought it wasn't such a bad idea - useful backup up front. But instead of applying and conducting himself in the right manner, he's gone and blown it. I'm sick of selfish, bitching players who don't know the meaning (let alone spell) of the word 'decorum'. Give Unsy a 2 year deal...he deserves it .. he's a true pro and great ambassador for EFC. Paul - Lower Bullens. (13/04/04) * Jeffers a true blue through and through, so when given the chance to desert a sinking ship he fucked off, and would never have come back had the arse wanted him. he ain't in the same league as McFadden anyway. do feel a little bit sorry for him now but what goes around...... top site by the way. Daz. (13/04/04) * It was defo a gamble bringing him back, he's never been fit and he's never had the run of games that he needed, here or at arsenal. I've heard its cost us 1 mill to bring him back for a season, what a waste of fuckin money, although least it wasn't 11 mill for El-Hadji "I'm fuckin ugly" Diouf. Piss off jeffers, ur never a blue, Rich Top Balc. (13/04/04) * Francis Jeffers should never have been put back in an Everton shirt after the disgraceful way he left the club. Even allowing for the fact that Walter Smith was seemingly unable to relate to young players such as Jeffers, Ball and Dunne etc, the verbal two fingers he gave on his departure for Arsenal showed him for what he is: a greedy, self-centred hypocrite. True, he did have enormous potential and it was he that kept us up - by making it possible for Kevin Campbell to score all those vital goals when they formed that wonderful partnership a few years ago. But even though we know (even if the over-paid popstar players don't), that badge-kissing is just another meaningless photo opportunity, he did have us fooled that he was one of us didn't he? Before he offended every Evertonian with his 'up yours' stance when he eagerly packed his bags for Highbury. Where on earth he was going to fit in anyway I don't know. All he succeeded in doing was marginalising Radzinski. And my guess is he behaved like a bit of a 'I'm doing you lot a favour' smart arse most of the time. So good riddance Dumbo. At least we all now know that £10m was good business after all. Wenger knows it too - so start looking or another job!. David Booth. (13/04/04) * Jeffers is a Dumbo, he wants to listen to the ground swell of opinion, disney understand that most fans feel that he has been a disappointment since turning his back on us and leaving for the smoke? He is a Mary Poppin's type character and thinks he can work magic but from what we've seen the magic has gone. And as for all these claims and counter claims of who said this and who did that, somebody is not telling the truth - who is the Lyin' King? Walt. (13/04/04) *
I was wrong in thinking
that jeffers was a good idea and must now bow down to all the lads who
did not want him in the first place who all said he was a money hungry
two faced shitbag in the first place, good on Moyesy for not backing down.
* No loyalty, no class, no club...get lost you talent less little tosser. Kip. (13/04/04) * What goes around comes around eh Franny! When the bright lights of London came calling he was off quicker than Barmby to the red shite. He thought he had it all and would be a regular for the gunners- yeah right! and now it looks like he could be without a club in the summer, Arsene wont want the trouble making little shit and was probably over the moon when us doppy lot said yeah we will have him back. No other premiership club will wanna touch him so unlucky franny- oh yeah and have a nice summer! Me thinks the SPL will be your only hope now ugly! Andystripeefc. (13/04/04) * Franny looked knackered/uninterested from the second he took to the pitch on Friday against Spurs. Let him go. To be honest how many have forgiven him for his "celebrations" when he scored against us at Highbury a few seasons ago? Let this be a lesson to all those young hopefuls in the premiership looking for a "dream" move....and he's an ugly twat. Pete Gillespie. (13/04/04) *
I think that David
Moyes has got it spot on. Let dumbo sulk all he wants as no player is
bigger than the team. He wanted to leave all those years ago when Walter
Smith was in charge and now he's not happy again. I was at the game against
villa years ago when some of fans applauded him and the majority booed
him for acting like a kid and he still hasn’t learnt his lesson.
* Can't believe we brought him back in the first place. He's done nothing except miss sitters when he's been given a start and his attitude stinks. In a time where mercenaries seem to be able to hold Club's to ransom it's refreshing to hear that a manager has told a player to fuck off. More power to Moyes he knows what he wants and I think he'll make sure we get it Franny, don't let the door smack your arse on the way out, keep walking this time WANKER. Christian. (13/04/04) * I think Francis believes he is bigger than the club, he let us down when he took the money and ran off to the Arse, and as soon as we get some success he is back telling us that he is an evertonian, never wanted to leave and is Rooney's best mate! get a grip franny, get fit, score goals and you will get a new club, but it wont be Everton. top site fellas. Andy. (13/04/04) * Couldn't you just see this coming....especially after him joining that mercurial cache of players who hardly get a game but are "injured". Nice to see him resting his injuries in post National soirees....on second thoughts shmoozing the Hollyoaks nonentities is just about his level. Welcome back Faddy. From Bluejules. (13/04/04) * Can't believe we took the big eared one back in the first place. In a game that is increasingly run by mercenary players it's refreshing to hear that a manager has told a player to Fuck Off. Hearty congratulations to Moyes, the only down side s that we have to pay the money grabbing little twat until June. Keep walking this time Franny, you're not welcome at our Club. A Fan. (13/04/04) * Everton gave franny a route back into football after his disaster @ arsenal i myself was looking forward to seeing him and Rooney together on the pitch but because of his glass ankles that has not worked out. i know that he will be frustrated at not playing as many games as he thought he was going to but that is NO reason to defy moyes. now i don't know what happened between the two of them but moyes has always acted in the club's best interests so that is why i think franny is in the wrong i believe he has got the wrong attitude and thinks that he is bigger than this club well he isn't 10 mins in champions league football is fuck all and i think it's good riddance to him. BYE BYE SHITHEAD!!! good luck in division 1 let's see if u can hit a cows arse with a banjo down there dick head!!!! efc_boy_rob. (13/04/04) * I had mixed feelings when I heard Franny was coming back. On one hand i thought, he's a natural goal scorer, an Evertonian and an England international. On the other I remembered how he enjoyed shafting us a few seasons back when Arsenal beat us 4-3 at highbury, and how he's been a shadow of his former self since he left. He may not have been given alot of chances since he got here, but why not? He hasn't been good enough, he's been injured and he's missed a few sitters when he has played. The wee prick has the same attitude problem he had when he left the first time. He thinks he's too good for us. Shep. (13/04/04) * It makes you weep. If you used to get the Evertonian years ago when it first came out (yeah, I know but I got it for my lad and when you live in the south you don't exactly get maximum publicity for the blue boys in the press down here so it seemed like a good idea at the time), Franny had a diary in there whilst he was at the FA Academy and it was everything you wanted to hear. True blue, just wants to play for his beloved team etc etc...just like the rest of us, except he got the chance. So what happens. He gets big ideas and leaves his beloved blues for a bench at Highbury. Now you can just about forgive that given the footie (or lack of it) we were playing at the time, but when he gets a second chance with a manager who's got more character, backbone and principles than Franny will ever understand, and he blows it, then he's shown up to be what he really is - and it's not what is represented by him kissing the badge on the rare occasions he scored for us since his return. Go away, grow up and pray that one day you'll be lucky enough to be invited back for a third time to play for the club that the rest of us would willingly offer up just about everything we've got to spend just 5 minutes playing on the ground where Dixie, the Cannonball Kid, the Vision, Bally, Reidy, Nev and the rest gave us so much to remember. Gerard Ryan. Cambridgeshire. (13/04/04) * I don't think at the time it was a gamble to bring Franny back to Goodison although I am disappointed to read some of the comments that have allegedly been made. I have always been a big fan of Jeffers and although I was disappointed could see why he decided to leave for Arsenal when he did. When I saw him line up up front with Rooney for England I thought it would be great if the two could link up front for Everton especially as Ferguson, Campbell and Radzinski are all knocking on a bit and with Franny being a supposed die hard Everton notably as he openly admits not as much as Rooney but still it made perfect sense to bring him back when Moyes did. How shit did he look though when he played on the few occasions he has this season! Sure he needs a run of games but he's done nothing at all when he's played to put himself above any of the others in the Goodison pecking order. We have not seen the player who left Merseyside for North London, Arsenal have took the natural aggression and passion out of him and tried to fine tune him into being another Ian Wright, this has not helped Franny! I hope something can at this late stage be sorted out and if not I'll be sad to see him go, but no player is bigger than our football club. Regards Steve from Walton. (12/04/04) * Jeffers started only 5 games. I don't think he was given a chance to see what he could do. Billy. (12/04/04) * Just want to say, that jeffers was injured last week against newcastle, or the club said he was. Why then if he was injured was he pictured in the papers on sunday morning out on the lash with the winner of the national, who is a mate of his. Should he not have been at home getting fit, or was this a two fingers to everton, who have paid part of his extortionate wages this season. fuck off, and don't come back. daveboyblue (12/04/04) * Was Moyesy consulted in the whole sorry affair, when Jeffers came back to Goodison. Was it the money men again tinkering in team affairs, doing a deal with Arsenal, on the money we are still owed. If so, why did not we insist on the cash off Arsenal, and put it towards a player Moyesy genuinely wanted, instead of bringing him back from were he wanted to be. It was obvious Moyesy was not keen on the player from day one. I am led to believe that this has cost Everton financially, in the region of £1.5 million big ones. If this is so, whoever sanctioned the deal, should be brought to book, and given a good reaming. Phil M (12/04/04) * Just read about Franny and Moyesy, and I can't wait to see the back of the little fucker. It was a mistake him coming back to Everton, and to me he will always be a money grabbing little turd. I remember a couple of seasons ago, when he played for arsenal against us, and they dicked us, when he scored he ran away kissing his new teams badge. That's what he is all about, no dignity, no class, and now no club, fuck off jeffers and don't come back you little shit. Mick, Upper Bulllens (12/04/04) |
