Are Everton Cursed?

E-MAIL from Blue Peter

In all the years I have followed Everton I have never know injuries so bad. The list seems endless. At the moment out for long period of times we have Felli, Mikky, Jack, King Louis, Tim Cahill and now Seamus. Even Jose Baxter has been seriously injured in the reserve match this week. Are we cursed?

All of these players would have been first team starters in the last part of the season. The run in will be hard for us but at least it will give fringe players the chance of a game. The likes of Maggie should be given his chance. We need a strong finish and the lesser know players will be needed.

We might see the best of Becks now if he knows he will get a run of 7 or 8 games

Dave Moyes does not in anyway shape or form believe in Sports Science he is a believer in get them beasted up the hill , yes in the armed forces you can do this as the type of things the lads are doing in yomping, but you have highly tuned sportsman here and I do think he need to look at it more, in saying that Big Sam Allardyce is a massive fan in this form of rehabilitation. Dave Moyes, move with the times or we will be in the same boat next year and the years after

Dave's right-we've had worse situations in the past and especially under the blessed Walter. It's as common as a dodgy, shite-biased ref in a derby, to see Everton with a long injury list. We'll see what spirit there REALLY is now!

Been unlucky with injuries this season. Saha has always suffered with injuries wherever he has played. I think today's footballers are more like athletes and pulls and strains are easier to come by. If our younger players were good enough or ready to play when 1st teamer's are out injured I think Moyes would pick them

Just bad luck that comes and goes, unless you believe in voodoo.

We are not going down and not going to qualify for Europe. Does it matter whether we finish 8th or 10th? Give Beckford, Billy etc a chance to show what they can do. Jan Mucha even?

Spot on Jay. Apart from the rich Arab shite! I would hate it if our great club became just another toy for a rich sheik. I love us being poor but still pushing all the big teams every time we play. David Moyes know they have to work harder than the pretty boys but our spirit is good, and our players play for each other and the manager. We are a proper club, run right (ish). We only need a small investment maybe £30m to challenge right at the top. Our board members really need to chuck some money in the pot and let Davy have a fair chance, for a change. On our board we have some mega wealthy people. Why are there never any fingers pointed their way?

Nothing new really. Years ago in the Bellefield days it was said that the disproportionate amount of injuries we suffered was down to training indoors in our then state of the art gym on unnatural [to football playing] hard surfaces. But today still lots of injuries. So, its either continuing bad training methods. Or maybe its that curse.

Fate wants Magaye Gueye to play! But does Moyesy? The Fans must have willed him to play so much so that all these injuries are taking place just to get the Gueye on! It’s fate Moyesy! Don’t fight it!

I think we had more injuries under Walter Smith. Remember when we had 11 first team players injured?

"They have 2 players for nearly every position" Really? Personally I think it's just a lack of rotation combined with younger players almost never being given a chance to shine (See United with the likes of Jonny Evans), like the truly bewildering decision to start Tony Hibbert at centre back against West Ham a while back, surely it was an excellent opportunity to start Shane Duffy or Shkrodan Mustafi.

Recall Vaughan and stick him up top with Becks. Maybe Gueye and the Greek lad might get a little run out and its a shame we sent the Portuguese lad Silva out on loan.

No every team has injuries. But at the top clubs they have bigger squads than us.They have 2 players for nearly every position we dont have that strength in our squad. So until we are bought by a rich arab or someone with plenty of cash this problem will persist with everton football club. when this happens iam sure our luck will turn for the better, as for being cursed "no" we just cant compete with the top clubs for the duration of the season as a whole.
