Everton In Peru

www.expandperu.org/ is a non-profit run charity based in Huancayo Peru. I was volunteering on the CASA project which supports children living in extreme poverty.  My role was football coaching children aged from 7-12 and 13-16 and to set up the teams so that they can carry on training and playing in the years to come.

Before I went to Peru, I purchased from 'everton two',  25 full Everton kits and 25 Everton stationary sets along with balls, bibs, cones, shin pads...etc and from elsewhere, 150 pairs of trainers, boots and other sporting equipment . this was my own personal contribution. I have recently been informed a lot of the equipment has gone missing so whatever funds I raise I will use to replace the equipment to help the project continue.

All the children and we  volunteers from Expand renovated the changing rooms and one talented boy, Fernando,  painted the Everton crest on the front of the building, so we had to call it Goodison...lol.  We also painted the pitch and the 5 aside and full size goals, thus improving the overall area.

I am pleased to say the teams are named EvertonExpand, which I thought was fitting as I am sure Everton would love to extend their fan base to another part of South America.  Also Everton may get some talent from Peru to grace Goodison Park sometime in the future....you never know......

Everton FC have said that they will give me a signed Shirt to auction on bluekipper,I am getting this at the start of the season , Everton two will give me discount any goods from there store so any funds I raise I will be buying training packs them send over to the project.

Best Wishes

Barry

Bluekipper will be doing an auction in the coming weeks

You're a solid gold disco dancer Barry. Don't ever let anyone ever tell you otherwise. The world would be a less sparkly place without people like you.

Let us know where to send an odd pound or so. Not all of us can afford to buy shirts etc. on auction, but yes most of us can send a quid. What a small cost to get OUR image across and maybe in the future a new (blue) player. Keep the faith.
