Rodwell To Improve Without Arteta

Fans E-MAIL From Billy Bullens

I was absolutely gutted when Arteta left. He was my favorite player. I knew we had probably seen the best of him of him after his injury but I still an unhappy camper

But since he has gone I think it could be one of the best deals David Moyes has done

I know it has only been a couple of games without Mikel but it looks like other players have got to take more responsibility for the team. The likes of Felli and young Jack haven't got a strong personality like Arteta pestering them for the ball. They have got to do it for themselves. We will now see if Jack has got it in him to be a proper player

I can see David Moyes giving Jack a good run in the side. He has given him the nod in the middle of the park instead of Phil Neville against Villa and Wigan. Also Johnny Heitinga was fit against Wigan but Moyesy stuck with Jack

So now after thinking the Arteta transfer was a disaster.  I think that Mikel leaving will benefit most of the midfielders at the club. Also Bainsey gets to take the penalties and the free kicks

Football is about what happens on the pitch and selling your best players without improving in his position is never good business. If youngsters are good enough they will break threw. Its ok others getting a chance but if there not in the same class then the team suffers. When finance and things off the pitch become more important than playing football then thats when i will call it a day. The fact is Everton are a stronger team and squad with Arteta than without him.

We did better without Arteta in the team last season than we did with him. Amazing that we got £10m for him. Great bit of business. Again, Baines taking pens and set pieces has to be a bonus as I thought Arteta was shocking at times.

I agree with Craig. It was good business. It's up to other teams to challenge us for a top half finish in the league. Some teams have spent big time, and are not doing it. Wev'e had some turmoil and we are doing it! I know Moyes doesn't like buying in the January transfer window and to some extent I agree with him as new players get more time to settle in as close seasn signings. Things on the pitch are settling down. The board has time to reflect and re-organise, where we might see signings in January or a club sell out at the end of the season. No matter what, I will always support Everton!

10m for a 29 year old, who wasn't interested and prone to injury was an excellent bit of buisness. If he hadnt of gone the likes of young Ross wouldnt get a sniff. It gives Jack and Felli a chance to really express themselves whilst helping the clubs finances in reducing the wage bill. WELL DONE DM COYB
