I Fear For Us

E MAIL From Billy Bullens

I fear for us this season. After another toothless performance yesterday reality has started to set in. Even though we had most of the possession yesterday at the game there wasn't a hope in hell that we were going to score

Newcastle was there for the taking. They looked knackered and had a weakened team, but we never created a chance in the second half. We have lost any creative play we used to have

The thing is it could have been seriously worse. We were gifted six points with late goals at the Blackburn and Fulham games after being outplayed in both games

We seemed to have lost our desire, which is something that you wouldn't relate with a side of David Moyes. Talking of Moyesy, has he lost his zip? He has always been a pretty dour character, but lately when seeing him getting interviewed he looks a beaten man.

The next three games against Wolves and Stoke at home and Bolton away will give us an indication if we are going to be in a relegation fight, but as I mentioned at the start I fear for us.

Do you agree with Billy?

Defo, Chris Perez, you got it nailed there. Even if there's no investment or takeover in the pipeline, we could do a lot worse. IMWT.

Can't blame people for getting worried but I think we'll be okay in the end. You can't lose someone like Arteta and not replace him and think everything will be hunky dory, he's made a big difference at Arsenal who would be lost without him. I'll start getting worried if there's no incoming in January. Money has to be raised somehow and I don't just mean a few million.

For all those who reckon Moyes should go. Who do we get to replace him? Realistically I can't think of anybody. I hate the tactics Moyes adopts but I still think he is the best man for the job and with investment/takeover supposedly not far away maybe Moyes can go out and spend a few bob on some quality players to enhance the squad and maybe then he can go with two upfront. Our next fixtures are Wolves, Bolton and Stoke all around us in the league. 6-9 points from these fixtures will paint a better picture.

LostBlue in France do you really think for one minute that even if every single Evertonian said yes we want Rooney back that it would happen? Firstly United are not gonna let him go for less than probably £50m, maybe more, and we haven't got any money. Then even if we had an offer accepted we couldn't afford his wages and finally if by some divine miracle we got United to sell him and him to accept shit wages (in relative terms) would he want to leave a title winning side where the pressure to be the main man and single handedly win games is not on him to join a team who struggle to get into Europa League where he would have that pressure? I would love a player of his quality back but sadly it aint gonna happen any time soon. Paul in Aus to say Moyes is not and never will be a winner is just down right disrespectful to the man. He may not have a cabinet full of trophies, but that is because he hasn't had the tools at his disposal. What he has done with the money he's had is fantastic, look at his pounds to points ratio in the paper a few weeks back. He took our team from relegation candidates to Champions League qualifiers in less than three years and has kept us in or close to Europa league places since (except that one season we came 17th), on the budget he has had that is fantastic and I very much doubt any other manager could do it.

Don't panic kids! We are low on confidence at the moment that is obvious, but for the moment Moyes must stay. He got a big decision wrong on Saturday by not starting Distin ahead of Heitinga, if he'd started Distin we would've got at least a draw. Newcastle are 3rd in the league and the result could have gone either way. I agree Moyes doesn't look happy at the moment and hasn't done for the past year or so, but that could be down to the fact that a lot of Evertonians are moaning bastards. We need to get behind both manager and team and support them 100%, if you don't your part of the problem.

We actually outplayed Newcastle just couldnt finish as usual. The same story with Fulham when we won, we outplayed them but we managed to finish thigs off. Moysie looks beaten because he lives and breathes the team every day in training and every night in his bed. He knows we are 4-5 top players short of a top 4 finish and he has to make do with Hibbo who cant deliver a cross and only louis up front. We need a new right back and a proven scorer so badly. Thanks heavens for Rodders and Fellaini!

Na we will be fine, i think we will finish with between 75-80 points this season!

Some people on here call you a kiss-ass if you agree too much with Davey, whilst others say you're insane if you dare to disagree..I've asked myself now and then if he has taken us as far as he can, and after coming out with this in an interview on MOTD; "We didn't come here expecting to get anything.." I honestly think we'd be better off parting company with him and getting someone else in

we are seriously lacking in confidence! not putting away chances, poor defending, plenty of possession but there seems to be a lack of direction from moysey who is struggling with his formation. i fear for the season because usually reliable experienced players are struggling to put there mark on games.Getting into a losing habit is very dangerous for a club with limited resources, so Billy is spot on with the next three games being so important even at this point in the season. Personally i think we need a masterstroke from Moysey to lift confidence and the sooner the better COYB

Aren't you used to our trademark bad start to the season? Things will pick up, they always do. They can't fail to with David Moyes managing us.

A somewhat gloomy prognosis. We've been here before though, the last two seasons in fact but always managed to finish strongly so there is hope yet. However, a team that concedes too easily and then can't score is certainly a team heading in the wrong direction, to put it mildly, so I can see why Moyes is looking pissed off. But a few good results can change everything. I will be very worried if we are still where we are in Jan/Feb though.

On the flip side we have outplayed other teams in some games and got nothing. It is obvious to everyone that we lack a cutting edge up front. We just cant expect anything else relying on a 33 year old Louis and youngsters. We MUST buy a striker in Jan. Would really love to see Bily given a chance in the number 10 role behind a striker but maybe I am just clutchin at straws.

I really think the lack of investment is beginning to show now, also poor performances from key players and iam getting sick of the 4 5 1 system are midfield does not support the front man enough.Jonny heitinga is to weak for the premiership and to laid back, defo start with buzz next game.we need to start being more nasty, fellani was a big miss yesterday.Just hope this is are poor patch everyteam has one.

Totally agree, the next 3 games are massive. Moyes has said before that 40 pts is the magic number and until we get that we are going to see the usual negative 4-5-1 with the usual below par 'senior' players starting. After that i feel he is going to give the youths a chance as it's no coincidence that so many of our younger players are going out on loan. Bottom half of the table for us blues this season but if it means that the kids will get a good few games under their hat and build for next year i'll take it (and the FA cup). Gonna be a long frustrating season.

Although not happy with the way things are going, it's not all doom and gloom. Yes we have lost 5 of the last 6 but but they were all in the top 6 of the table except for the shite and they cheated us again...once the goals start going in we will be fine.... Can't see us challenging for Europe though, but without the financial clout I think this is a blessing in disguise. After supporting Everton for 45 years you get used to false dawns.......

I agree with every word Billy. It is just amazing how long it takes for all Evertonians to get this message. For over a year now, I could only see the deterioration and death of this club if Kenwright and the present board is not replaced now. Unfortunately Moyes has done his best under the financial constraints but like his tactics he is not a winner and never will be.

Afraid I do. A few friends, for a few seasons, have been saying DM is tactically inept, and I have defended the man 100 percent. Im a member of the In Moyes we trust bunch. But yesterday was very poor. The problem is. Who better would be Interested? ETID

everybody panics when we lose a few games!! we've had a tough run of fixtures and played well, newcastle are on shit hot form, and once agin we were UNLUCKY! (don't get me wrong newcastle did defend well, and it wasnt our best performance) they had an own goal, and a freak goal from taylor, and we were denied a pen when backstabber gosling hand balled it in the box! I agree we have lost creative zip but i believe drenthe and barkley can supply that IN TIME! just relax we will pull through like we always have done! IMWT!!!!!!

Billy we all but scored, we had them beat, we had more shots than them...we just couldnt didnt score! Fear full yes but not from the 2nd half performance as DM said we were crap when we had the OG but came back. We wont set of any huge fireworks but can do great things with sparklers...

i agree with billy i think there is not much creativity in the team we never looked like scoring especially in the second half we talk about team spirit but how long can you keep relying on that and if we dont get an investor it could be differcult times for the blues

i agree with that fully ! i also fear relegation this season moyes tactics are so so negative at the minute, we will no doubt have one striker up front against wolves and will probably manage a draw. but this has nothing to do with investment, are team is one of the best in the prem, we just have no creativity with no peanut or mikel. the only good thing for eveton this season is the fact blackburn wigan wolves etc are worse than us !!! and like billy said we were VERY VERY lucky against blackburn and fulham it should be much worse Keep the faith !!! COYB

Agree with you totally Billy. Moyes is a broken man.Bereft of ideas and i'm afraid that under his leadership we could well face a relegation battle. He's not the warrior that we had when he first came to our beloved club,he looks defeated before any of our games even kick off nowadays, and it's filtering through the club like a cancer, and needs to be stopped now. I look at Bainesy and his body language and facial expression says it all. Howards face when the oggy went in yesterday was just resigned as if he just epects things like that to happen. We need a leader.Moyes is a spent force.Heshould do the honourable thing and walk away, his ego will land us in deep shit.He needs to go now...

I know I will probably get stick for saying this but I really think we should get a petition going to get Wayne Rooney back. He said he wanted to win things with the mancs well he has, his little boy is being brought up as a blue too. My question is does he want to see us playing in the division below? No nor do I, we are totally toothless and every other team in the prem seems to have moved their game on a bit this season, the fact is we are in trouble and everyone knows it. Wayne come back to us we really need you, oh and bring a few of your mates too.
