The EFC website quotes Moyes as being one of our true greats ?!?

The second paragraph quotes 'we've had some great times together' - I have missed something, when was that ?

Never won a league match in 10 years at :

The Shite
Man U
Arsenal
Chelsea

or  Never won a trophy.

We have won 9 League titles and 5 FA Cups with other managers - surely he can't be ranked alongside them?

Before you know it we will have a Moyes statue - no wonder he has stayed for 10 years , £60k per week! His Mrs must love him .......

He has done wonders to keep us in the top flight under difficult financial constraints, so we should be grateful for that. Football and the world has changed since we last won trophies regularly, so we have to keep digging in and wait for a top investor who has a passion for the club. Then we might see how Moyes does on the trophy side. In the meantime, let's get into the semi's of the FA cup by beating Joe 90's team, and then beat the shite and get to the final!

Moyes has done fantastic with little/no budget available. A manager is not going to bring in profit, we need investors to invest in order to increse our return. We all know Moyes fucked up but what manager can we attract that would do a better job?

Well great work Mike another constructive view. All those like you who continually cry to get rid of Moyes .. you never suggest what alternative there is. Do you realistically think we should tap up Pep Guardiola then or maybe you're hoping we convince Rafa to bring his goatee to Goodison. Get real .. cast your mind back to the pre-Moyes days of enticing journeymen players at the end of their careers on fat pay deals. At least he's never done that. I'm not denying the team he picked against the RS backfired and gave them the upper hand from the off . But the 11 Blues last Tuesday just had the look the we usually have every August - half asleep and off the pace. A crowd of moaners isn't going to help one bit.

Anyone leaving derogatory comments on this post is most definitely NOT a blue!!! Not arsed about the tripe stats you put up but let me ask you One thing.....in those 10 years have you HONESTLY thought Davey was the wrong manager for us? Next question, and at the mo still unanswered.....name Davey's replacement. Ps Kopites need not reply to this post and can go back to fucking themselves ( my apologies to all Shite fans.........it's very rude of me not to say that in your usual home language of Norwegian.......sorry but I don't speak Norwegian)

Ian Edwards - go away you idiot. Leave our club alone and go and support Blackburn or Wolves. You'll fit in perfectly there. It's people like you who hold Everton back with your disgraceful negativity. Moyes deserves a medal for putting up with nobheads like you.

For all his defensive tendencies I don't think we've had a better manager since Kendall's first stint. Don't think there's been anyone like him to bring the best out of players. I reckon that once he wins somethin, he'll keep on winning more each year. COYB

Well said Mike from Birkenhead. Moyes should have been sacked long ago. Negative sterile football, No bottle in big games and the Derby was the last treasonous straw. All these Moyes apolgits are keeping in a job and holding the club back.

This might be seen as quite harsh to some and maybe it is as we managed a 4th place finish under him and decent European run...HOWEVER, in my opinion a lot of criticism for him is well and truly deserved because it is not all about money! Yes, obviously money is a huge part of football these days but it is also about the attitude of everyone at the club. United could win the league again this season with another quite poor team. Yes they have spent big over the years but individually going through their team, they are not a patch on City or probably even Chelsea and Arsenal, especially in the midfield area for technical ability. The difference is their attitude. Ferguson wouldn't dare say "Michael Carrick, I would rather have Lampard than you so I want you to sit back and defend and don't try to attack!" (By the way this is an example, I realise Carrick does sit back more anyway). It just wouldn't happen, he says we are a good team, we are the better team, lets go out and attack and win this match. Moyes has had too long with an attitude of we are the worse team so lets go out and defend so we don't lose this match. We have some quality in our squad, players with experience and any player that plays in the Premiership (exception of Titus Bramble) most likely deserves to be there and has talent to be there, therefore they should be good enough players to allow them to attack and play how they can play rather than change our lineups to match a negative 4-5-1 formation consisting of 4 defenders, 2 defensive midfielders, 2 midfielders who have a main priority to defend, 1 midfielder to defend but try and support the striker if possible, and a striker to try and flick on to nobody or hold it up to take pressure off our defence, as opposed to a Chelsea or even Swansea style 4-5-1 of: we defend as a 4-5-1 then attack as a 4-3-3 with wingers and a central midfielder or 2 supporting too! The mentality needs to change more than anything else really, and I think a lot of the anger and criticism from fans comes from what often publicly seems to be an acceptance that we are at best 7/8th best in the Premier League rather than his managerial ability.

He's done a great job since he got here. Yes he's made mistakes but havent they all? Mouriniho, Ferguson, Wenger, Mancini, Redknapp... they all made bad buys and tactical errors. They all got loads of cash, Moysie hasn't. Sorry doubters but he will do for me.

Great, another person putting their name in the hat for the Everton manager's job. Clearly you would do much better so maybe you should take charge of the team from now on, with Bob from Upton as your assistant.

Why print a stupid posting like this? It's like it was written by a child. David Moyes has done wonders at our club and all the recent criticism after losing ONE MATCH has bordered on the disgraceful. Come on, guys! I agree we have a lot to thank Moyes for,he turned the club around and was fantastic for a number of years but my opinion has slowly changed over the last 3 years and has nose dived this season.I dont believe he is working miracles any more.He assembled a really good squad on little money but regardless of not being able to add to it over the last few seasons we have finished exactly were we expected to,the teams better than us finished higher and the teams worse below us but in the last few seasons he has achieved that by stamping out pace, creativity and flair.Only just scrapping past teams by the odd goal and putting on show some of the worst football i've ever seen at Goodison.I dont know why he turned so negative a few years a go but its clear he has lost his bottle and am sick of his blind faith in players that dont produce no more yet still play week in week out.Next season if we dont have a big clear out we're going to be in big trouble, the only players we have had this season who have genuine pace and flair are all on loan,if drastic measures are not taken to get rid of the dead wood on big wages and bring in young players i honestly think we will struggle to stay in the league but can anyone see Moyes getting rid of the likes of Cahill and Neville,no me neither.Am not saying i think Moyes should go but if he did i would not shed any tears.

This trophies thing - people harp on about it as if its a piece of piss to win a trophy. Here's a list of FA cup winners, back to when we won it in '95... 2011 Man City 2010 Chelsea 2009 Chelsea 2008 Portsmouth 2007 Chelsea 2006 Liverpool 2005 Arsenal 2004 Man Utd 2003 Arsenal 2002 Arsenal 2001 Liverpool 2000 Chelsea 1999 Man Utd 1998 Arsenal 1997 Chelsea 1996 Man Utd ... that makes ONE team who have won the FA Cup since we did without being one of the big spenders. And that was Portsmouth - clearly a freak year. Before that the last non-big team to win it was us.

Maybe then Mike would prefare Alex McLeish as manager, well he has won a trophy. I don't think any manager could of done aswell, considering the amount of money the club have had, except maybe Wenger? Look how much Fergie spunked up the wall at Utd in his 1st 3 yrs! We have all called in to question his team selections & tactics at times, but even Wenger & his great track record has been slated for that. Fans are still angry over Tuesday, still can't get over it myself, but at least he has had us finishing top half for the majority of his time & yes, maybe just doing that isn't good enough for a club like our's,but considering the 1st 10 yrs of the 'SKY' era,i've been grateful!

Aha, now then. Alot of critiscism for our Dave over the last few days. Let's get a few things in perspective. You'll have heard them before, but..... A football supporters staple diet is masturbation and beer, two things that give instant satisfaction. Ofcourse, a derby win and then an fa cup win and why not a champs league place while we're at it, would be great. But we can't because, even if we have some quality players, we don't have a squad big enough to compete away to teams like the four mentioned. So we have to choose. I would suggest that Moyes knew we had a good chance of losing Tuesday. He sacrificed that game to give us a chance in the fa cup. As he has over the years, he made best use of the available resources and kept EFC competitive without going under financially. There has, therefore, never been a more successful manager in the history of our club even though we have won nothing; if that makes any sense.

Mike did you get this from the BU? Put it into perspective and list the same with the other managers we've had. I think it will give a different story. But you know that and that's why you haven't made the comparison with the other managers. League positions? TV revenue? Ground size? Player fitness? It goes on. The game has changed a lot in the last 10 years.

Well we have had some great times with Moyes! Where were we before his arrival and if he hadn't been brought in where would we be now? 10 years ago we were struggling in relegation battles and fearing the worst and back then if you were asked if you would like a manager that would be getting Everton to finish 4th, FA Cup final, run in Europe, no sign of relegation, players getting into the England squad, a world cup finalist I think we all would have snapped your hand off. Moyes came in to Everton with a plan and until more money is available this is the best we can hope for, so much so that we have gained so much respect from clubs outside the top four to be a club to aspire to. We may have not won a cup yet with Moyes but tomorrow is the qtr final with Wembley round the corner - Get behind the boys, the manager and the owner and lets be the true 12th man.

No doubt Moyes is a highly principled man. Reading and listening to Landon Donovan praises of the man states fact. What he is not is a 'Braveheart" in the mold of Joe Royle, and has been far too negative in his tactics, ballsed it up on Tuesday against the darkside. But i do see a glimmer of hope as I do think with the strikers and wingers we have that slowly he is changing his style, so i live in hope. As for the club not winning a trophy, there's a long line of those. It's never been harder with the monopoly and spending power of the big clubs. Maybe, just maybe, it's our year. Onwards and upwards the BLUES.

I suppose it depends on how you look at the circumstances Mike. The position we are in now when the wealthy clubs (remember when we were spoken about like that?) can spend more on a player than we can on a whole team, Moyes has given us a period of stability when it looked like we may have sunk. On the other hand, over the history of the club it has been a very barren spell trophy wise (as it has for all those other than the Sky Big Shots), which for those of us who remember when we were successful is difficult to take.

You could also quote the fact that we are still in the Prem, we have had a few trips in to Europe, a few trips down to Wembley and some memorable days/nights at Goodison, beating all of the teams that you have just mentioned, and we have done it all with no money. I would agree with all of the the managers/coaches/players in our game who have utmost praise and respect for what David Moyes/Bill Kenwright have done for our football club. We can not fully experience the highs of football if we haven't experienced the lows. Come on Blues. "Tell Me Ma, Me Ma !!"

Don't be so ridiculous Mike. One bad team selection and you're saying Moyes is a bad manager. You've got a short memory. We were a team fighting relegation year in year out when he arrived and now we're fighting for Europe every year. Don't be such a moron, please.

Our other managers havent had such a shambles of a team to rebuild. These are different times than we had all them years ago! He's the reason were still in the prem and still competing with the big bucks clubs. He is definitely a true great, why else do you think he's so highly regarded. Sucess isnt always measured in trophies..

I think your being a bit unfair mate. When Moyes came in we were not a top 10 side. If we finished 8th or 9th we were happy to be out of a relegation battle. Moyes is up there with the greats because of what he has done with with such limited resources. Look, last week gane against the shite was one of our lowest days but we had some great days under Moyes. A win this weekend and Wembley here we come and people will be praising him. Everyone jump off the band wagon and get behind the team . And most importantly IN MOYES WE TRUST.

I'm sorry but without investment you can only take a club so far. From 04-05 to 09-10 we were best of the rest. I think it was the after 06/07 season that we had our best team and with investment we could have gone that next step. Well done Moyes.

Mike you are a knobhead. Other managers have won trophies in different times when Everton weren't financially miles behind the rest of the world. What trophy would you like to see him win? Tell me when the last time the league was won by somebody without huge financial help. Even Blackburn bought it. Ever since the premiership was created it was about money. The champions league lined the pockets of those who happened to be succesful at the time. Had all this happened in the eighties rather than the nineties I would be confident in saying us and the shite would have been the teams to benefit and we would still be dominating now. Manchester United became strong at a very lucky time and have profited ever since. Any manager who gets almost within touching distance of those sides has done remarkably. Moyes has done it on several occasions without a pot to piss in. What he hasdone is remarkable. Yes build him a statue, yes compare him to the other managers who did win trophies. Joe Royle gave us one day in the sun.. I love the guy for what he did in the shirt and the dugout but Moyes has provided stability and turned is into a top half club rather than relegation fodder.
Dave, Huyton, 9:20 AM 16/03/2012

Far too harsh all this criticism at Moyes. We were in a relegation battle for years till he arrived and he has helped turn this club around. We're never going to be competing for titles unless we get heavy investment. It doesn't matter who the manager is, it just won't happen. He's not won anything yet but I still think he's been fantastic for our club. Our past success doesn't mean anything and doesn't give us a right to more. Carry on with all this talk and we're crying out to end up like Leeds or Forest. Tuesday wasn't good enough we can all agree but let's forget that now and get behind Moyes and the lads eh? Remember where we were before he came, it can quite easily get back to those days. Quarter final at a packed Goodison on Saturday, can't wait. COYB!
