If any player was to epitomise Everton FC this is the man. A player who played in every position for the club and would run through brick walls for Everton. He always gave 100% without question and his determination to win games was evident to see, unfortunately he was never was on the winning side in a Merseyside Derby and never won any silverware with Everton which was a damn shame.
He supported the club as a boy and also had the honour of wearing the captain's armband which probably gave him that spirit in to which he played.
I was fortunate enough to meet up with Mick Lyons at Finch Farm in December 2011 and spoke about Everton for a good 30 minutes.
"Once a blue always a blue" That's Mick Lyons a great ambassador if I ever saw one.
