A Message From The Bear Pub In Wembley

E Mail from Chris Gorton

Guys,

I am a season ticket holder in the park end, and have been a season ticket holder at Everton for over 20 years. I currently live in London, and run a pub in Wembley called THE BEAR.

On Semi Final day, Wembley will be split into 2 halves, with Everton getting the west end, whilst the shite get the east. This means that supporters will only have access to their respective halves on the day, as such Everton will have the Wembley Central End.

My Pub is situated in the Everton end, and will be open from 10am. You won't be able to miss us as we'll be the only pub with flags flying and other memorabilia outside.

In relation to travel on the day, for those Evertonians travelling by train to Euston, its simply a case of jumping onto the over ground for Watford which will take you straight to Wembley central where you will instantly arrive in the Everton designated area.

For those who travel to Wembley Stadium, walk up the stairs, and turn left and then keep right when you get to the triangle. There is about 4 pubs along the high street but there about £3 cheaper per pint compared to price in and around the ground, or hotels.

For those who arrive at Wembley Park wrong end as this is the shite only designated area.

Anyway, let's hope it's our day and COYB.

Cheers.

Chris Gorton, Wembley

If you are coming from the south coast (Bournemouth area) change at Clapham junction then overland to Wembley central (info from National rail enqiuries). It avoids going into central London. COYB

Reply to Jimmy (6) - if I am understanding it correctly then you will NOT be able to get to Wembley from Watford on OVERGROUND train. However, you will be able to use the Metropolitan Line (part of London Underground network) to get from say Watford Underground Station to Wembley Park. It is worth using the 'Transport for London' website and when on it use Journey Planner (hover over date and time and allows you to edit). Reply to Burkey (8) - my understanding is that the pubs in the Wembley area are not allowed to show the match live on TV. Don't get caught out with this if you haven't got a ticket for match. If in doubt call the pubs in the area.

Going down the semi by coach but probably won't get the pub in time to meet up with friends for a drink before kick off with the pubs not serving an hour before kick off. The Wembley stadium drink prices quite expensive but will have to do COYB x

Will you be allowing both sets of fans in? Struggling to find a place to have a beer with my Kopite brother! This segregation thing is a load of bollocks and a massive insult to the good people of Merseyside

Thanks for this Chris - sounds great. I have just checked the 'Transport for London' website - there is no OVERGROUND service between Watford and Queens Park on the day (planned works). No CIRCLE Line on the underground either on the day. From Euston you should still be able to get to Queens Park on overground and then get Bakerloo Line to Wembley Central to get to The Bear! Alternatively get the Bakerloo from say Oxford Circus (5 mins tube from Euston). See you there, I'm the guy in the blue top :-) Phil
