Everton 1 Sunderland 3 / November 30th 1996 / Att: 40,087

Everton: Southall, Barrett, Hinchcliffe, Watson, Unsworth, Parkinson, Kanchelskis, Stuart, Barmby, Grant (Ferguson) , Speed

Scorer: Ferguson

My first match was Everton versus Sunderland in 1996. All I can remember was that I think we lost 3-1 and Ferguson scored for us.

My dad had taken the day off work to take me, and it was the coldest day ever; bearing in mind i was only 6 at the time. I was sitting in the Main Stand and couldn't see a thing because everyone to me then seemed huge and that's why I can't remember the goals or anything.

Keep up the good work on the site.

Everton 4 Crystal Palace 0 / 10th April 2005 / Att: 36,519

Everton: Martyn, Hibbert, Stubbs, Weir, Naysmith, Arteta, Kilbane, Cahill, Osman, Bent, Ferguson

Subs: Vaughan, Watson, Carsley, McFadden, Wright

Scorers: Cahill(2), Arteta, Vaughan

My name is Arthur and I am a massive Everton fan from Australia.

Having supported Everton since I was 6 (I picked them because they were blue), it has been my dream to go to Goodison to see my beloved team play. I am now 22, so the glory days that I have seen have been far and few between…I set off on my round the world trip and with the help of an Evertonian I met in Berlin (thanks Ste) I found myself sitting in the lower Gwladys…all I wanted was to hear the crowd roar just once if we scored…man, was I blessed…Arteta scored very early with a peach of a free kick…then my favourite player Timmy Cahill (biased cause I am an Aussie) scored 2 quick goals in the second half right in front of me…superb!! Then James Vaughan re-wrote history as we won 4-0…

I then did the stadium tour that week and met the legendary Dave Hickson…sat in the dressing room, walked down the tunnel to the Z-cars music, sat in Moysies chair and saw the trophy room…Fantastic!!!

If my week couldn’t get any better, think again, I went on that fateful Wednesday night on the 20th April when Big Dunc sent 30-something Evertonians into raptures when he headed home as we beat the mancs…this is undoubtedly one of the greatest moments of my life…

To this day, I still remember the atmosphere before the games, the anticipation for Z-cars to start, the roar when we scored and the celebrations at full time…these memories will be with me forever and can not wait to get to my next game…

Everton 8 Cardiff City 3 / April 28th 1962

Everton: West, Meagan, Thomson, Gabriel, Labone, Harris, Bingham, Stevens, Young, Vernobn, Temple

Scorers: Vernon (3), Bingham, Gabriel, Stevens, Temple, Young

Early 60's Went with my uncle as my dad was not really a lover of the beautiful game we sat in the Upper Bullens right at the front, it was a sunny warm day and was probably the most exciting day of my life.

The Golden Vision was playing alongside Roy Vernon I'm pretty sure they got a couple each but when reality trails into romance the stats become blurred! I think it was Gordon West's debut.

I came away totally sold on the Blues.

My son is now 22 and we both hold season tickets, I have told him about that game but have never ben able to track down any info on it. Would you be able to fill in the blanks

ie Date, line up, attendance etc, these facts are all part of my heritage.

Everton 2 West Ham 2 / January 11th 1966

Everton: Barnett, Wright, Wilson, Harvey, Labone, Harris, Scott, Hurst, Pickering, Young, Temple

Scorers: Pickering, Scott

I was a great disappointment to both my parents as they where both hardened shite fans, that I ended up supporting the Blues. My Dad's cousin (Uncle Dennis) took me to watch West Ham against Everton. The only reason being was that my Dad had given me his old works football kit, that was similar to West Hams, and my Uncle Dennis was a hardened Blue's fan and he took me the game with the excuse of I had a West Ham kit.

Well It was amazing. A cup of Bovril and a hotdog was a real treat in those days. I think it was about 1965. I was nine at the time and of course Everton won and I was converted to a Blue. I don't think my Dad ever forgave Uncle Dennis for that one.

My Dad did take to me to one game and he was concerned if there would be any goals. No need to worry as we scored seven that day, thrashing Leicester City 7-1, even he was impressed.

Now my son is a Blue, and I took him along to Goodison to see us beat Crystal Palace. The cost was a little different for the pizza slices and coke, but we beat Crystal Palace and my son was highly amused at a Palace fan who on a bitterly cold night was shirtless and getting chanted at "Who eat all the pies"

Everton 7 - 1 Southampton / 16th November 1996 / Att:35,669

Everton: Southall, Barrett, Hinchcliffe, Unsworth, Watson, Stuart, Speed, Barmby, Kanchelskis, Parkinson, Grant

Scorers: Stuart, Kanchelskis (2), Speed (3), Barmby

I'm not too sure if it was my very first game but its definitely the earliest one I can remember. I was sitting at the Park End the whole ground had a great atmosphere around it.

After the first half we were already winning 5-1, Stuart scored one, and Kanchelskis and Speed banged in two each, but Egil Ostenstad managed to put one past Southall about five minutes before half time.

The second half was great aswell, Barmby (tosser) got one and Speed capped off his hatrick in the 72nd minute.

Great game and just shows that Everton can absolutely demolish a decent side. Hope we can get a few more 7-1 wins !!

Keep it up good stuff.
