Scorers:

My
first game at Goodison was a league game attended with my Dad
and brother against Norwich on the 24th March 1990 for a thirteenth
birthday present. Remember thinking this somehow entitled me to
witness an Everton victory as appropriate for my first attendance.
As is unfortunately sometimes the case with Everton things weren't
looking too clever at half-time as we were trailing by a goal.
Must've looked fairly disgruntled (as well as freezing I recall)
as on way back from the gents an Evertonian told me to cheer up
as everything would be alright! Thankfully this was the case as,
if my memory serves me right, two Tony Cottee goals and one from
Sharpy in the second half; the latter which broke Bob Latchford's
postwar goalscoring record; saw the Blues home.
Unfortunately living down south only get to Goodison
infrequently. Hopefully this, like Everton's fortunes since 1990,
will soon change for the better! COYB. Ben Gregory (26/05/07)

Scorer:

I
remember this game for all the right reasons. I never knew how
important this game was in the clubs history until the final few
minutes. Gareth Farrelly's screamer gave us the lead, and Nick
Barmby could have made the game safe with the penalty. Dublins
late goal had the ground silent, but thanks to Chelsea beating
Sheff Utd. we stayed in the Premiership

Can
I put forward my first game? I am a life long Evertonian who lives
in Perth, Australia. I was born in Oz and have never been to Liverpool
(my dad's birthplace). A couple of years ago I was lucky enough
to get the opportunity to play cricket in Liverpool and even luckier,
to get a ticket to the Everton v Newcastle game at the end of
the 2005 season. You know the one, we had to win to secure a place
in the Champions League from the Red Sh*te and Bolton I think.
I was absolutely blown away when I walked up the stairs to sit
in the Family Enclosure (I know, I know). Then when Davey Weir
headed the ball beyond the Newcy keeper I thought my head was
gonna explode it was that loud!!! Timmy the Blue Kangaroo then
put the second in!!! 2-0!!! Go you Blue boys!!! The rest they
say is history… Damn Italian refs… I then had to sit through 1023
Liverpool games on tele (that’s all that was on free to air) and
their bloody Champions League parade through town. I lost 50 quid
on that game as well…
Team (from memory - I was pretty hammered!) : Nah can't remember
I was too p*ssed… I just remember crying to meself when someone
asked "pretty" boy Kluivert how many horses he'd shagged,
at which point he gave us the middle finger! Hahahaha brilliant.

Just
thought I'd write in with my first ever game. It was in 1993 I
think and it was Everton v Notts Forest game. The boys won 3-0
and if I'm correct it was a Tony Cottee hat-trick. Don't get to
go much these days being exiled at Uni in South Wales but my dad
an lil sis are season ticket holders in the Lower Gwladys.

My
first visit to Goodison was in August or September 1954. I was
a third generation Evertonian, so I was a Chosen One from birth.
I had actually seen the Blues play in a testimonial game at Runcorn
three years earlier. So dare I say it, I remember the time that
we were a Second division side.
1954 saw us promoted and one of the first games was against West
Bromwich Albion, the holders of the FA Cup. It was an evening
midweek game. Remember this was before floodlights. I sat in the
Upper Bullens Road Stand and so eager was I to soak in the atmosphere,
we arrived two hours before kick off. It's the same stand that
is there today, probably only the paint has been changed, although
not its colour. Double decker stands all round. It was intimidating.
In those days you could also rent a cushion to sit on, the seats
were flat and wooden and very uncomfortable if you didn't have
a cushion. The trouble was the atmosphere did not intimidate the
Baggies enough. We lost 2-1 if I recall.
Move forward fifty years. In August 2004 I was at Goodison when
in August of that year, the Blues played West Brom again on the
way to Champions League qualification. And that year West Brom
were relegated. Revenge for spoiling my night in 1954.
Biggest crowd I have been part of, 75,000 on Boxing Day, or the
day after, against Burnley in about 1962 or 1963. Happiest memory?
Winning the FA Cup in 1966 on what was my first visit to Wembley.

I
think we took the lead but still got beat 1-4. I remember a certain
Mark Bright running rings around us that day, and also some soft
Owls fans with their tops off playing the drums.
Not
to worry though, 5 months later we won the FA Cup !!

My
dad is a Liverpool (shite) fan, but my uncle took me to see Everton.
From the moment I set foot in the ground there was never any question
of me following any other team. - I cant remember the date, but
it was against Coventry City. Cyril Regis scored to put them up
one nil at half time but Trevor Steven scored a penalty before
we went on to eventually win 3-1.
It was a great
day and one I’ll never forget!

I
saw my first game at Goodison back in in 1959 (I think). John
Carey had just signed Tommy Ring from a Scottish club and we played
against Nottingham Forest and won.
Can you tell
me the date of the game and the score?
Thanks,
