Howard
Kendall's first game in charge. I was eight years old and went
with our Phil and his mate Mark. Remember queing outside to get
in the top balcony and hearing the cheers as Howard went on the
pitch before kick off. Also remember it costing £4.40 to
get in the top balcony, I thought that was like a million quid!!!
But the nice bloke on the turnstile told our Phil to lift me over
and I got in for nothing. NOT A SNOWBALLS CHANCE IN HELL OF THAT
HAPPENING NOW!!!. Don't remember to much about the game, but remember
that Rod Stewart look-a-like Alan Biley scored on his debut. Something
I think he did at almost every club he played for. Don't go to
many games now but if you cut me I bleed royal blue!

The
day I was blooded!! I remember meeting Paul Bracewell outside
and having a photo taken with him. A superb player and he scored
that day. Remember being lifted up by some fella behind me so
I could see. Day I will never forget.
I'm now nearly 30 years old and have been through some testing
times with the Blues but have always kept the faith.
Great site, thanks

I
will always remember the first match me 'awl fella took me to
and he picked a barmer !!!!!!
I
would have been 8 at the time but I remember it (unfortunately).
I know we took the lead with Rideout then we fell apart - What
I remember most about it was that Efan Ekoku scored 4 past Big
Nev. We must have played pretty piss-poor that day. I have bin
a blue ever since though so I thank me da for that like, but he
did pick a shite game for me first. Great site lads.

I don't remember much about the game, as I was
just 7! But I do remember the noise when Big Dunc scored, we were
sitting in the Upper Bullens next to the Chelsea fans, and I remember
how smug I felt at the final whistle!

1986
season against Manchester United. We won 3-1 with Sheedy, Sharpy
(I think) and Inchy. (Bryan Robson scored for Man U as normal
against us)
I
was 14 and was only about 5 foot tall. It was a corker of a match
to if I remember. Sheedy scored first with Robson getting one
back just before pie time. Second half we kicked towards the Street
End, and Sharpy and Heath ran them silly with Tricky Trev playing
a blinder. Highlight for me was Inchy's diving header to get the
third, one of my favorite goals of all time. I remember Viv Anderson
getting a right shitty on with Heath for making him do a bit !

Believe
it or not guys but this was my first match...... what a day to
bust my Goodison cherry!!!!! Mother Theresa would have been a
Toffee if she sat in the Glwadys Street that day.
If she had put a fiver on Barry "spagetti head" Horne
sticking a beauty in the top bin she wouldnt have trawling the
streets of Calcutta, she would have been living in the Hollywood
hills on the winnings. How could anyone refuse to dedicate their
loyalty to one club after that!!! I was hooked and I still am.
I
was 10 years old and even though I loved it that day I would never
do it again. I think pitch invasions for Premiership survival
should stay in the distant past!!!!!!!

the score was 3-3 in 1982 I think.
Can't
remember much about the scorers but remember thinking that I'd
found my spiritual home. C'mon you Blues !

if you know who played that day I would be grateful. Fleetwood

I
was at that Blackpool Vs Everton in 1966. A certain little red
head with initials AB took us to pieces. After the game as the
team made its way through a crowd of Everton protesters to its
bus Harry Catterick was jostled . The incident was blown out of
all proportion by the media. The reasons for the protest was the
dropping of Alex Young and the absolute rubbish performance against
Blackpool. Dick (12/06/07)

My
dad (R.I.P.) was an RS fan, but my Uncle took me to see Everton
for the first time when I was eleven. United had won the league
the previous season and opened their title defence at Goodison
– they would go on to win the European Cup that season and we
went to Wembley to meet WBA in the Cup Final.
I
stood on a box in the lower Bullens down by the Park End and was
just able to see over the impossibly high wall. I remember Bally
and Mogsy (I think) being just inches away from me as they weighed
up whether to take a short corner. The atmosphere was just unbelievable
as we trounced United and although I’d been a Blue since the 66
Cup Final that game was the first of many I would go to until
I moved to the USA in 1980. These days I get to see most games
on Fox Soccer channel over here. COYB.
