Players IN Summer 2007 (The Rumour Mill)

The Good The Bad and The Ugly

Now the dust has settled on another Summer on the transfer merry go round, we look back at The Good, The Bad and The Ugly. Moyesy was obviously working hard to bring in another player before Friday night's deadline. He said: "I am hoping to do more business before the window closes - maybe one more." This never happened. The media reports were that he was after Argentinean International, Riqueleme. This is even more amazing after we at Blue Kipper decided to make up a few things. Just for a laugh, we decided to start a rumour about Riquelme joining Everton back in June. We'll also own up to starting rumours about Papa Bouba Diop, Paul Scholes and Tommy Gravesen. All were just wishful thinking as China Crisis would say, but we were astounded when Tommy signed in.

If we look at the in's and out's in the table below, we think Moyesy has done well. On top of that we have Gravesen, Pienaar on loan. At one time the fans were going mad with not signing Smith, Nolan, Koumas, Richardson, Barton, and Bent. Did Moyesy fancy them? We'll never know. Although there were times during the Summer when every club was signing players except us and the fans got annoyed. All the players who have come in are, in our opinion better than those who have left. With the exception of Wessels who is signed as a substitute goalie with one eye on Europe, the others are all players who will expect to start games, not just be part of the squad.

In
OUT
Phil Jagielka
Gary Naysmith
Stefan Wessels
Richard Wright
Leighton Baines
Alessandro Pistone
Yakubu
James Beattie

So the good are obviously The Yak and Bainsey. The bad is obviously the Fernandes saga. What was all that about. There is a thought within the Blue Kipper camp that professional footballers should be made to dig ditches during the week. Manny would be put right at the front of the queue to get his shovel. Then there is the ugly. This goes to Tommy Gravesen, for pulling that face when his eyes seem ready to pop out. Lets hope we see it during the season, as it's usually after he's scored a goal. Roll on the transfer window opening on 1st January 2008. Can't wait! (01/09/07)

More Please

With only two weeks till the big kick off, Moyesy is still confident of landing a big name or two. Top of rumour control seem to be Leighton Baines, and Alan Smith, but only time will tell. Only Phil Jagielka, and Steven Pienaar have joined the ranks in the Summer, or is that the Winter, but hopefully the Gaffer will be true to his word, and the Board will back him with some hard mullah.

Moyesy says: " Last year we had three (new signings) in early but hopefully these two (we have signed already) have settled in and will make a good start but I have to say we are hoping to bring in another couple of new faces. The disappointing thing is that I always like the boys to be in early for pre-season because I think it is important, especially the way we try to have this club and the spirit we have amongst the players. But the two that are here already have fitted in very well." (28/07/07)

New Faces

If you think that Keith is spending all his time on the Stadium stuff. Well don't because he has promised some new faces before the season starts

Bully Wyness says "Some transfer windows develop early, some develop late. We will have the bodies and the faces in before the start of the season. We are very active in a lot of things behind the scenes.

It is going to be an exciting season and probably the most competitive season in the league's history. A lot of clubs have strengthened in different ways with new ownership. There has been an inflated value on some of the transfers. I believe we have a value of a good player, what we consider a fair value, and we will not go above that. There is no doubt new stores of cash have made inflation happen. There has also been a rush of blood from new owners but I am sure things will settle back down." (21/07/07)

Irresponsible Counterparts

Moyesy is adamant that Phil Jagielka won't be the only new face at Goodison this Summer, as he is doing everything in his power to bring new faces in. He rightly points out that some of our Premiership counterparts don't help the case when they start paying silly money for bog standard players and that is making it more difficult for the Blues to compete when our funds as we know are limited.

Moyesy says: "We'd like to add to the squad and I know the supporters are desperate to see new faces coming in, no more so than me, but things out there in the market are tight. But we are certainly doing everything we can to strengthen the squad and give ourselves a chance. We've done it that way for the past few years and we'll continue to do so.

I can understand that because I've been a supporter, in fact I still am a supporter, but we're always quite cagey here and we don't give too much away partly because people know that we don't have the funds to compete at the top end. I think there has been some irresponsible buying and spending by some clubs and it makes it a bit more difficult if you've got less money to spend than that." (12/07/07)

Active And Attractive

Moyesy on signing Phil Jagielka says: "He is a good addition to our squad and we hope to add one or two more before the start of the season." (05/07/07)

Moyesy says: "We are going to try to be as active as we can. I think we are an attractive proposition to players who maybe just can’t quite get into the sides who are currently in the top four. I think they will see plenty to like about Everton. They will see us as a good club to come to as we are making progress. We are an up and coming team, we are enthusiastic and we are knocking on the door and trying to win things if we possibly can in the future." (16/05/07)

Money For Players

Blue Bill says: "There will be money in the summer. I always believe that if you put someone in charge then you must support them. We have always got to be looking to reach that little bit further. If you look at Everton on and off the field, you will see that it is going in the right direction." (15/03/07)

75. Kevin McDonald

Moyesy is said to be considering a £150,000 offer for Dundee's 18 yr old midfielder Kevin McDonald. The Everton Manager had the youngster watched in Scotland's U21 International against the Czech Republic earlier this week. Moyesy was knocked back on a £100,000 bid for Macca last season, and Dundee Boss Alex Rae is adamant that if his young star leaves, he will have written into the contract that he can loan him straight back for Dundee. (23/08/07)

Blue Kipper says:

74. Yakubu Aiyegbeni

Wednesday is the day that the Yak will officially become a Blue when a special hearing will sit to hopefully approve the Nigerian's work permit. Even though Yakuba has played in the Premiership for what feels like an eternity, he does not meet the criteria for an automatic permit as bizarrely he decided to stay on last year in England to play for Boro than represent Nigeria in the African Nations Cup Tournament.

The ruling states that any foreign player has to appear for their country in at least 75% of competitive matches that they are fit and available for. The Yak currently is outside this figure. Hopefully the panel will decide in Everton's and The Yaks favour, and he will be then fit and raring to go against notloB next Saturday. Confused you bet I am. (26/08/07)

The Yak will have to wait for his debut. Everton are waiting for a work permit before he is cleared to play. This should happen early next week.(24/08/07)

Everton have now agreed a fee with Boro for the signing of Yakuba. The Teesiders were desperate to hang onto their star striker, but it is now being reported on Sky News that a deal has now been finalised. Just the medical now, and then The Yak's will be an Everton player at last. A fee in the region of £11.25m is being muted around, and if true, Everton once again have smashed their transfer record set when we signed AJ last Summer for £8.5m big ones. Credit were credit is due, well played Bill. (22/08/07)

Boro and Everton are back on the phone to each other about the transfer of The Yak. As always the stumbling block is money. The player has made known he wants to join his mate Joey Yobo at Goodison, but Boro want to get as much cash as possible for their star striker. With AJ struggling to be fit for Saturday, don't be surprised to see The Yak in the number 9 shirt on Saturday. (21/08/07)

Everton have apparently pulled out off the deal to bring Yakuba to Goodison Park, as their offer of £10m big ones for the Boro forward has not been accepted. Middlesboro' have asked for £12.5m, but Everton have now decided not to pursue their interest in the burly striker, and with only ten days to go, Moyesy will have his work cut out in securing a new striker. (20/08/07)

According to some media reports, the Yak is joining Everton for a club record £11m. The deal should be done by Monday. (18/08/07)

The Yak has been left out of the Boro squad for tomorrows game at Fulham. Now this could mean he was shite during the week and needs a rest and all Evertonians are being very hopeful. But we have just put another couple of Kipper's on the stove.

When asked on Sky sports this afternoon if he was after The Yak, Moyesy says: "We've got an interest in one or two players. The board have been terrific, but we are seeing now if we want Everton to compete, they are going to have to give us some form of tools. Not that they haven't in the past, because you only have to look at the players that they have allowed me to bring in - the likes of Tim Cahill, Tim Howard and Joleon Lescott - to see they have already done that. Now we feel it's time to have another go to get ourselves in amongst the top, now is the time. Again, we are still looking to strengthen and who knows what name it might be when it comes around." (17/08/07)

With Mido signing for Boro, Joey Yobo has put his twopeneth in. In a bid to get the Yak to join the best team in the Premiership.

Joey says: "I want Yakubu to join us here, definitely. You are always looking for world-class players to join your team and make things better. Yakubu is one such player and I'll be glad if he and players of his stature join us. I'm a defender and I'm looking for good midfielders and attackers who can take the pressure off me. If the move doesn't happen there are already players here who can keep us in the fight. Could we ever win the Premier League? It's absolutely possible if we build on our recent successes. If we build on our European experience this season plus investments in players, we can challenge the top four for the title." (15/08/07)

Blue Kipper says:

Signed For Everton

73. Santiago Ezquerro

Oh my God, it's gonna go off in my hands. It's exciting now. With Baines in the bag and talks of Lucho and Manny coming in, its now Santi Ezquerro (Ezzer to his mates). He's on a free from Barcelona. He could be an ideal replacement for Biffa.

Blue Kipper says:

72. Luis Oscar 'Lucho' González

It looks as though Lucho has decided to stay at Porto, according to sources close to the club. Everton are looking at stumping up the cash for Manny Fernandes. (08/08/07)

According to some sources, Everton will need to go to £15m to capture Lucho, as Valencia had a £12m bid turned down.
Porto coach Jesualdo Ferreira says: "It would be a massive blow to lose Lucho and I intend to make sure it doesn't happen." (07/08/07)

The word on the street is he's signing. Oh my days (06/08/07)

The Daily Express, and Sky Sports are both reporting that Moyesy is set to smash the clubs transfer record by signing Argentinean midfielder Luis González from Porto for £10m big ones. Gonzo as he is affectionately known is currently Porto's Captain, and he has played for them for two seasons after being signed from River Plate in 2005. He has made 30 odd International appearances scoring five times for the Argies, and recently starred for his country in the Copa America. He is 26, and a bit of a looker, so I am told, but honestly I don't swing that way, thought about it, but no its not for me. (04/08/07)

Blue Kipper says:

71. Daniel Mobaeck

Swedish attacker turned defender Danny is thought to be looking for a move to the Premiership. The 27 year old scored in the Champions league qualifiers last week.

Danny says: "Of course, I would be interested in playing in the Premier League. If an offer comes, which is right for both the club and me, I am of course interested. It's obvious that it is noticed in Europe when you score in an important match."

Danny's agent Martin Klette says: "I can confirm that two European clubs have enquired about Daniel." (02/08/07)

Blue Kipper says:

70. Benni McCarthy

Benni was in the stands with fellow countryman and Everton's new signing Steven Piennar watching the 2-2 draw with Werder Bremen. So everyone thinks he must be signing. Well he might. He maybe 29 years old, but he has a great scoring record. 19 in 36 games for Blackburn. (02/08/07)

Blue Kipper says:

69. Danny Szetela

Danny fancies another go with Everton after he had trials here as a 16 year old, but could be heading to Italy. The Columbus Crew midfielder is now 20 and is a full International.

His agent Shep Messing says: "Everton are probably his preferred destination, while Middlesbrough and Reading are also interested. But there's more interest from Serie A and we're closer to doing something in Italy, possibly in the next two weeks." (28/07/07)

Blue Kipper says:

68. Steven Pienaar

Everton have agreed a 12 month loan deal with Borussia Dortmund for Stevie P. He will sign next week once he gets a work permit.(20/07/07)

Borussia Dortmund's South African midfielder, Steven Pienaar is on offer on a year long loan deal and if successful a permanent move to the Blues, and we believe Moyesy is tempted. The 26 yr old sprung to prominence with his starring role for Ajax in the Champions League a few seasons ago. Sexy Sven is also in the running for Pinny, but it is rumoured European Football is one of his motives for moving, cue Davey Boy. (18/07/07)

Blue Kipper says:

Signed For Everton (1 year loan deal)

67. Johann Vogel

No deal yet for Johann as it seems there is a few bob outstanding to Johann from his old club Real Betis. Johann is keen on the move, Moyesy is keen on Johann, so I have an idea. It obviously isn't going to be millions, so why doesn't Johann waive the amount of cash he is owed, if his dream is to play in the Premiership, problemo solved.

Vogy says: "Everton would be a fantastic opportunity and it's a chance to play in the UEFA Cup. If I can reach an agreement with Betis, then I hope Everton will take me to England. I think the Premier League is a sensational league. I think it’s probably stronger than the Spanish League. I am better equipped to deal with the demands of the English game. My dream is to play in Euro 2008 and if I leave for Everton and play regularly, then I've got a good chance of being involved. If I stay at Betis, it will be impossible. I am not in the club’s plans and the best outcome for both parties is if I leave." (19/07/07)

Bloody hell. Where did he come from? He is on Merseyside for talks with a veiw to a permanent move. He is the Swizz captain and his countrys most capped player. Fantastic. He plays in the holding midfield position or as some knobheads like to call it "The Water Carrier". Surely this is the deal of the century

Keith Wyness says: "We are in negotiations with the player and he will be coming shortly to discuss personal terms with a view to signing a contract." (17/07/07)

Blue Kipper says:

66. Sol Campbell

One of our more bizzare fishy's, but Moyesy according to some of the Sunday rags has been asking about Sol's availability. Now personally I like the beer, but why oh why do they have to put that bloody lime in the bottle, it makes my eyes water. Sol is in his thirties, and available for £1m, but with Roger, Joey and Stubbsey to name but three, the Blues are well catered for at the back, unless Moyesy has ideas of shipping someone out, watch this space as we say !!. (16/07/07)

Blue Kipper says:

65. Franck Queudrue

Another day another left back. Fronk is not too happy with Lawrie Sanchez as manager at Fulham, so he has got his agaent to stir it up.

His agent Dominique Six says: "He is a professional and is under contract with Fulham. But if an opportunity occurs I will definitely study it. Newcastle and Everton regard Franck as a possible signing. Some Premier League clubs are looking for a left back, and Franck could be a good choice." (06/07/07)

Blue Kipper says:

64. Rod Fanni

Everyone will have some fun with the Nice defender's name. He reckons we have spoken to his agent.

Rod says: "A host of clubs are interested in me. They have approached my agent but haven't made any offer for the moment. Three English clubs contacted my representative. I can tell you their names: Newcastle, Everton and West Ham." (06/07/07)

Blue Kipper says:

63. Alan Smith

Another one bites the dust. After we looked odds on to sign, Nugent, Richardson, and Smudger himsef, the Leeds lad has decided to join the Skunks as he appears to think he stands more chance of winning trophies there. Only time will tell, and its another tale for the Blues of what might have been. So with the big kick off eight days away, James Vaughan and Tim Cahill crocked, it may be time for Blue Bill to get his cheque book out, and offer some proper money instead of token gestures, but then again !! (04/08/07)

Smudger spoke with Newcastle today and looks as though he will sign tomorrow. (02/08/07)

If Beattie goes to Sheffield United, Everton will be favourites to get Smudger. Newcastle though have emerged as Everton's rivals. (31/07/07)

Boro are stepping up their interest in Smudger, but he doesn't seem keen.

Middlesbrough Chief executive Keith Lamb says "If you go back a few weeks, it was well documented that we had agreed a fee and had permission to talk to Alan. But Alan was away on holiday and then went on tour with United, so we haven't had the opportunity to speak to him. I'm sure he is well aware of our interest, and I'm sure in the next few days the opportunity to speak to Alan will present itself. If it's right for Alan and right for Middlesbrough, it's something we might well conclude."

United chief executive David Gill sys: "We've not had any firm offers for Alan Smith, though a couple of clubs have called to ask about the situation. We also received a text from someone else. We'll see what happens but so far nothing has resulted from it." (28/07/07)

Now is the time for Alan Smith. With Ferguson telling Smiffy he 's a great lad but he will not be required if they get the ugly Tevez and Moyes a known admirer. Also added to the injury to poor James Vaughan, we just have to go for him. Please do something I've got pains in my chest.

Ferguson says: “There is no doubt Alan did fantastically well for us when he came back last season.

He gave the team a spiritual lift and because he is such a fighter, he was an inspiration to us. But he is 26 now and he wants regular football. I have to look at Manchester United in terms of how do we improve to get better. And when someone like Tevez comes along, it makes it difficult for people like Alan in particular. The most important thing is that they are our players and we can make decisions when we like." (21/07/07)

After recovering from a serious leg injury to regain an England place, Smudger (to his mates) wants to play regular togger. He never started many games for manure last season and with the signings of 3 players, he wants to know where he stands before the season starts. It's belived that Everton may snap him up as manure are Everton's feeder club.

Smith says: "If the manager tells me he wants me, I'm there for him. If he doesn't, it's time to move on. If you're no longer wanted, then you have to consider your options. I want to be out there from the start. If they are going to sell me, I'd like to know. But I won't find out unless I get to speak to the manager." (01/07/07)

Blue Kipper says:

Signed For Newcastle

62. Daniel Braaten

Danny (to his mates) is a 25 year old forward who fancies a game in the Premiership. He is a Norwegian International playing with Rosenborg. Reports from our spy in Scandanavia are that Aston Villa, Fulham, Bolton and us are interested. His agent Stig Lillejord says: "It is important that it is the right club for Daniel. That he goes somewhere where he gets to play." (01/07/07)

Danny In Action

Blue Kipper says:

Signed For Bolton

61. Riga Mustapha

The 25 year old midfielder/striker is currently at Lavante in Spain. Everton, West Ham, Spurs, and and Birmingham, are chasing the 25-year old Dutch striker. Levante want in the region of £3m-4m for the Ghanaian born Mustapha.(24/06/07)

Blue Kipper says:

60. Borja Oubiña Meléndez

Borja is a Spanish midfielder currently playing for Celta de Vigo. He has two caps Spain. The usual suspects are in the chase, West Ham, Spurs, and Arsenal. It was said somewhere that the 25 year old holding midfielder would like to play in London. That's us out then. (24/06/07)

Blue Kipper says:

59. Jan Rosenthal

After hearing lots of rumours regarding moving to the Premiership, the German Under-21 international insists he is staying with Hannover.

Jan says: "My near future is going to be with Hannover and I don't think about a transfer yet. I want to continue the form I showed last season and thereby make the next step in my career." (24/06/07)

Blue Kipper says:

58. Bruce Lalombongo

currently of Lausanne Sports FC in Switzerland, Everton target Brucie (to his mates) has rejected a move to Goodison Park, because his mum wants him to complete his footballing education. Aaahh that's nice. (24/06/07)

Blue Kipper says:

57. Leighton Baines

Moyesy is chuffed that he has beaten the challenge of Newcastle to get Bobby Baines. He has signed on a five year deal and with add ons the figure could reach £6m

David Moyes says: “We are pleased to have him. It’s a signing for now and it’s also a signing for the future.
Leighton is someone that we have been after for a long time and he is someone who will give good competition to our squad. We see him as a left-back. We already have Nuno to play there and Joleon Lescott can cover in that position, but we want him to be a central defender.

We needed to add to our squad after we lost Gary Naysmith. We used him quite a bit last season and we needed to replace him. Leighton is a young player and he fits in with our policy of trying to buy good British players if we can. From all indications, he is a big Evertonian.

We have been impressed by him and the reports that we have had about him over the past 12 months have been good. He really came to prominence last season and has done well in the Premier League and at the European Championships, so that was a big factor.”

Leighton says: "I am very happy now it is all done and I am looking forward to getting on with it. I think people knew this was the place I wanted to come and I am glad now that it is all done.
"I am a local lad and all my family support Everton so it's good to be here at last." (07/06/08)

Leighton has had a suceessful medical and signed a five year contract with the Blues. Top quality signing. The pains in my chest are easing.(06/08/07)

Leighton Baines sat next to James Vaughan in the directors box at Everton's 2-2 friendly game against Werder Bremen last night, increasing talk that he will sign for The Toffees. (01/08/07)

Everton have made a £4m plus a mystery player to Wigan, but they don't reckon the player is worth £2m to match the £6m bid of Sunderland.

Wigan manager Chris Hutchings says: "We turned down a £4m-plus player bid from Everton - that's as far as it has gone. I'd like him to stay but I can't stop speculation and offers being made. It's bad business if we don't accept a bid similar to what Sunderland offered." (31/07/07)

Apparently Bainesy is wanting to come to Everton after rejecting a move to Sunderland when the clubs agreed a £6m fee. We'll wait and see if he joins Nugent and Koumas on the list of players who wanted to come to Everton, but for whatever reason didn't make it.

Sunderland boss Roy Keane says: "Football is a small world and you hear things through the grapevine. I just got the impression that Leighton had his heart set on a move to Everton. I don't blame him for that." When I left Manchester United, it didn't matter which team came in for me I was always going to go to Celtic. I met Leighton and he's a nice lad who I would have loved to have come here. But it didn't happen and we move on." (27/07/07)

With Naysmith gone, some of the media are expecting Everton to go for Bainesy, but with Sunderland bidding £4 for him we better get a move on or forget it.

Chris Hutchings says: "We've rejected another bid from Sunderland for Leighton Baines. We don't want to let him go, but as I said all along every player has got their price. But we don't want to lose our best players because they are a big part of the future of this club." (06/07/07)

The 23 year old kopite is rumoured to be on Moyesy's list of left backs. Wigan's new manager, Chris Hutchings is thought to be offering Bainesy the captaincy in a move to make him stay at the club. (24/06/07)

Blue Kipper says:

Signed For Everton On A 5 Year Deal

56. Paul Scholes

This week we are told will be the week that Moyesy will move in the transfer market before the rest of his squad return to training on Tuesday week. As in the previous two season's the Blues have ended up with an ex Man Utd player as the Old Trafford club are still in debt to Everton as part of the protracted terms of the Wayne Rooney deal. This years installment we are being told will be in the shape off United legend Paul Scholes, who has had his nose put out of joint by the arrival of Michael Carrick last season, and the impending arrival of Owen Hargreaves. Scholesy the family man wants first team football, and he does not want to move to far from home to get it. Cue Moyesy. (23/06/07)

Blue Kipper says:

55. Chris Gunter

Everton are reported to have had two bids turned down for the 17 year old Wales International. Cardiff City are trying to hold on to get as much money as they can for the full back. He played 16 games for the Bluebirds first team and made his debut for the Welsh team last month against New Zealand. It is believed Everton are planning a new bid. (22/06/07)

Blue Kipper says:

54. Papa Bouba Diop

New Fulham coach Laurie Sanchez wants to put his mark on the squad and that means Papa is not in his plans. Everton could be in with a £3m bid. Currently the captain of Senegal, Papa now 29 has 29 caps for his country. (20/06/07)

Blue Kipper says:

Signed For Portsmouth

53. Vince Grella

Tim's mate has stayed in Italy and signed for Seria A side Torino. (21/06/07)

The Australian International left footed midfielder is being touted as a great buy by non other than are own Tim Cahill. Apparently Vince fancies a go in the Premiership. Currently captain of Parma in Italy, the 27 year old has 26 Australian caps to his name. (18/06/07)

Blue Kipper says:

Signed For Torino

52. Bobby Zamora

With moneybags West Ham after every player in the world, some have got to go. So Bobby Everton want a striker, so according to the press Bobby fits the bill. He scored 11 goals last season. (17/06/07)

Blue Kipper says:

51. Olivier Kapo

Ollie is not in Juve coach Claudio Ranieri plans for next season. Everton will battle it out with Olympiakos, Real Mallorca, Real Betis and AEK Athens with a £2m price tag on Ollie's head.

Ollie says: "At the moment I am only thinking of my holidays and it will be Juventus that decides my future. The club know my preferences. I want a good sporting project. The Premier League is enormously attractive for any player. For me it would be excellent but I repeat that it does not just depend on me. My experience in Spain was positive but Levante were only fighting to avoid relegation and I desire a club with more aspirations." (24/06/07)

The Juventus midfielder Ollie (to his mates) has been at Levante for a season-long loan. He is back in Italy after the Spanish team decided against making the move permanent. The France international has nine caps scoring 3 goals. (16/06/07)

Blue Kipper says:

Signed For Birmingham

50. Gustavo Varela

Gus (to his mates) plays for Schalke F.C. in the Bundesliga. Everton have spoke to the player and the club and our mate Heinz Fandango in Germany says this is a goer. He is an excellent player with terrific stamina, great touch and an eye for the 'killer' pass. Doesn't weigh in with many goals but we've got Mikel Arteta and Tiny Tim for that. The 29 year old Uruguayan midfielder would cost about £2.5m (16/06/07)

Blue Kipper says:

49. Stewart Downing

England International left winger Stewie (to his mates) is believed to be Moyesy's number 1 target according to parts of the media. Since Kevin Kilbane left, Everton haven't had a recognised left sided player and have used Arteta, Cahill, Osman, McFadden, Nuno Valente and Naysmith in that role. So it seems logical that we may go for someone of that persuasion. Stewie is only 22 and came on the scene for Boro a few season back and was a breathe of fresh air. Since then he hasn't lived up to his potential and has struggled to become a regular in the England team, but has played 14 times for his country. A fact that many commentators say is only because his ex-Boro manager is now England boss. A fee of £10m has been mentioned. A great figure considering we're skint, but the papers have come up with a plan. Give them Beattie, as Boro want a replacement for Viduka and Shandy Van De Meyde plus cash. Why don't we go the whole hog and give them Nace aswell. (16/06/07)

Blue Kipper says:

48. Jason Roberts

Now we have a swap on the cards Jase for Biffa. (11/06/07)

Everton are considering a £3.5m bid for Blackburns big Jase (to his mates) according to some of the Sunday papers. His uncle is ex-England International Cyril Regis. He's played for Wolves, West Brom and Wigan before joining Blackburn. (10/06/07)

Blue Kipper says:

47. Garry O'Connor

Ex Hibs front man Garry O'Connor who is currently stuck in the far reaches of Russia is looking for a move to the Premiership. With Moyesy as yet not making any move for David Nugent, O'Connor could be an ideal replacement in the transfer market, and a lot cheaper, with a fee rumoured around £3.5m. The Scottish front man's family have moved back to Blighty as they could not settle in Russia, and it is believed O'Connor wants to follow suit.

Rudi Vata, Garry's Agent says: "People have contacted us and there have been talks but there is nothing concrete at the moment. Many clubs would love to have Garry O'Connor but the question mark right now is over the transfer fee. So many clubs can't pay the fee. He would love to play in the Premiership for sure. It's the best football league in the world and it would be a fantastic experience for Garry. I'm sure if he had the chance to go there, he would. Garry is missing his family a lot. His fiancée didn't settle in Russia at all and is pregnant with their second child so she is spending most of the time in Scotland." (11/06/07)

Blue Kipper says:

Signed For Birmingham

46. Juan Roman Riquelme

According to some media sources Juan had a chinwag with Moyesy yesterday, but he decided to stay in Spain. (01/09/07)

For a few minutes Evertonians today believed they has secured the services of Juan after the official site had reported his signing. The error was due to test pages being aired after some routine maintenance, though we are sure some of the conspiracy theorists will have other ideas. A club spokesman has issued a statement saying that the article was completely untrue. Never mind we all have technical problems from time to time, and in Bluekipper's case it is letting Sausage near the Stella.

Club Spokesman says: "During the process of uploading the new home page designs for the website some test data was displayed for a very short period of time and was immediately removed after it had been identified. Example data had been used during the testing process and this was unfortunately missed by our appointed web development company during the final upload. We have since spoken to our suppliers to convey our complete dissatisfaction at the way in which this mis-information appeared and they have apologized to the Club and any Everton supporters who may have may have read the test article." (02/07/07)

Apparently Juan wants a move to the Premiership and he fancies playing for and up and coming club. He is currently on loan back in his native Argentina playing for Boca Juniors. Outstanding player. Can do wonders with the ball. Evertonians will remember him playing for Villareal against us in the Champions league. The Argentinean playmaker is now 28. If it happens it will be a miracle. (08/06/07)

Blue Kipper says:

Signed For Athletico Madrid

45. Bolo Zenden

Everton along with Newcastle are said to be tracking the shite's Dutch winger Bolo Zenden. Moyesy you think would be put off after signing one Dutch waste of space in Shandy, but there may be some mileage in this as we know Moyesy has just took a few days break in Holland, so was he mixing a bit of pleasure as well over there. Stop it, I meant football business, not smokey, shag, shag business.

Zenden's Old Man and Agent Pierre says: "There is not a rush, everyone is on vacation at the moment. There are a number of interested parties, but nothing in detail at the moment. He likes it in England, but we will see what happens - we don't know when anything will be sorted, a month, a few weeks - we don't know," (05/06/07)

Blue Kipper says: No Kippers

44. Tommy Gravesen

Tommy is back at Goodison on a one year loan deal. Amazing. (31/08/07)

Tommy (Mad dog to his mates) the fist clenching corner taker looks as though he is not wanted anymore by Celtic. Moyesy has always said that he'd like him back. But who said never come back? Tommy's agent was asked if Tommy had played his last game for Celtic. Sivebaek says: "Yes. It could be." (31/05/07)

Our spies are insisting that Tommy may be looking to get back in the Premiership and will only consider Everton. (28/05/07)

Blue Kipper says:

Signed For Everton (1 year loan deal)

43. Jason Koumas

Wasn't it a couple of seasons ago when we could have had Jase from Tranmere for a bag of tangerines and 20 brand new 2p pieces. I wonder if Moysey regrets not taking a chance with him. Well now Wigan have had a fee of £5.3m accepted. Oh my days.

West Brom Chairman Jeremy Peace says: "We have said all along we will only consider selling players like Jason if we receive head-turning offers and that the deals are in the club's best interests. We feel this offer mirror those criteria." (09/07/07)

This thing won't go away. More media stories about Jase coming to Everton, possibly this week. (06/07/07)

Koumas has joined the merry band of players who want to move to Everton.

Jase says: "I'm a local lad from Liverpool, I suppose a move back to the city would be a dream move for me, but I am just concentrating on the Czech match now and what happens in the summer will happen. Any player will say they should be in the Premiership, and I am no different. I feel I can play in the Premier League, no problem. I hope I am in the Premiership next season, but if it doesn't happen I will just keep playing to the best of my ability with West Brom." (01/06/07)

Jase has been coming to Everton for yonks. It started when he was at Tranmere when he was worth £5.2s.6d. Now since his club trotting he's worth up to £4m depending upon which numskull you believe. (31/05/07)

Blue Kipper says:

Signed For Wigan

42. Pablo Ibanez

The Atletico Madrid defender is admired by Moyesy. It says here. He's had enough of playing in Spain and wants to come to play with his good mate Mikky Arteta in the wet and windy Premiership. The Spanish International at 25 still has his best years ahead of him. (31/05/07)

Blue Kipper says:

41. Frankie Simek

Oh Frankie! You've got your manager in a tizz. The 22-year-old American International has has had a great season at Sheffield Wednesday playing full back or centre half. Reports that Everton are after him has angered Brian Laws.

Laws says: “I’ve heard nothing, as far as I’m concerned it’s a load of bull. I have had no contact from Everton or any other such club regarding Frankie Simek and in the end Frankie Simek is not for sale. He is a key payer and has had a great season and I believe there is no truth in the matter whatsoever. As far as we are concerned it is just speculation. There is nothing more we can say on the matter because no football club has made contact with us at all." (30/05/07)

Blue Kipper says:

40. Russell Anderson

Aberdeen captain and Scottish International, Russ (to his mates) is bound for English football. Everton are said to be in the race with Boro and Sunderland to get his signature. The 28 year old centre half has been in outstanding form over the past few seasons. Everton played in a testimonial for Ando in a pre-season friendly at Pittodrie last season.

Aberdeen chairman, Stewart Milne says: "Russell has reached the stage in his career where what we can afford to pay him and what he might get in England are miles apart. I would love to see him spend the rest of his career at Pittodrie because he epitomises what Aberdeen are all about. But when you see the wages available down south, who could blame him for looking? I hope it doesn't come to that, but if he does leave, it would be with our blessing and gratitude for all he's done for the club."

Aberdeen manager Jimmy Calderwood says: "The agent said they know if they want bargains then Aberdeen is the place to look. That is a real worry. It means I will be spending most of the summer praying none of the clubs actually make moves for any of the players." (23/05/07)

Blue Kipper says:

Signed For Sunderland

39. Phil Bardsley

Everton and Bardsley's agent have poo pooed reports this morning that they had agreed a fee. This is not true. Moyesy has had a look at him, but that is all.

Bardsley's agaent, Des Wroe says: "I don't know where this has come from. The same story has appeared in the papers for weeks now but it is complete nonsense." (20/06/07)

Some reports say Moyesy has agreed a £2m fee with Man Utd and can now talk to the player. We'll see. (20/06/07)

Another day, another fishy, and with the Summer upon us it has to be a Man Utd player. Since young Mr. Rooney left us it has been compulsory for us to sign a United player every Summer, and full back Phil Bardsley is the name linked with us this year. The 22 year old has been on loan at Villa, but has now returned to Old Trafford, and to complete the loop, it may be Goodison next. (21/05/07)

Blue Kipper says:

38. Yaya Toure

As predicted Yaya has signed for Barca in a £6.7m deal. (26/06/07)

Everton must fight off Barcelona to sign Ya Ya and also spend most of their transfer budget to seal it.

Toure's agent Dimitri Seluk says: "It is very possible that the sale will happen soon. It's only a question of time and money. Barca want to talk but Monaco but have received other offers." (12/06/07)

As exclusively revealed here last month, Yaya's agent, Dmitri Seluk says Everton are interested, but his client would like to go to Barca.

Dmitri says: "He would be happy to sign for Barcelona. Inter, Lyon, Roma, Everton and Arsenal have all asked about him. I think that everyone is interested now. I think his price at the moment would be about €15million (£10million)." (07/06/07)

Monaco midfielder, Ya Ya (to his mates) is said to want a move to the Premiership. His brother is Arsenal's Kolo Toure, who has said his brother is better than himself. He impressed in the African Nations cup for the Ivory Coast along with Didier Drogba.

Drogba says: "He has the same body type. He is also tall and strong and has great technique, like Vieira. I think that, very soon, Yaya will be in the Ivory Coast line-up and he will be one of the best midfielders. If Jose Mourinho asks me for my opinion about Yaya, I will tell him that he is a great player." (20/05/07)

Blue Kipper says:

Signed For Barcelona

37. Guirane Ndaw

It's thought that Celtic have had an initial £2.2 million bid for the 23-year-old turned down by the French Cup winners, Sochaux. Everton are monitoring the situation to see if they can get him on the cheap.

Annie or Gary (to his mates) had this to say in October last year: "I know Everton and Galatasaray are following me, but it is not topical. My dream is to play in England, but at first I want to reach a new level with Sochaux." (27/06/07)

Gary (to his mates) is a Senegalese midfielder, currently playing for FC Sochaux-Montbéliard. (20/05/07)

Blue Kipper says:

36. Eddie Johnson

Big Ed (to his mates) was the new kid on the block in the USA as a 17 year old. Scoring goals galore at all levels for his country, but a toe injury stopped him in his tracks. The 23 year old centre forward now sees his career developing in Europe. No doubt Joe Max, Bake McBride and Tim Howard have had a word in his ear. (17/05/07)

Blue Kipper says:

35. Chris Brunt

Sheffield Wednesday's Northern Irish left winger has established himself this season. The 23 year old is a six footer with an eye for a goal. 11 from 45 games this season. (17/05/07)

Blue Kipper says:

34. Paul Josef Herbert Scharner

As predicted earlier in the week only on Blue Kipper, Scharns (to his mates) wants away. Everton are thought to be ready to make an offer to the player who scored two goals against us last season. He has also taken a swipe at former Latics boss and redshite Paul Jewell.

Scharns says: “I’ve got no desire to spend another year in footballing no-man’s land, battling against relegation. I am good enough to take on bigger responsibilities, like the Champions League or the UEFA Cup. I am under contract with Wigan until 2009 but who knows what might happen during the summer. I hope Chris Hutchings will change Wigan’s style of play otherwise we will once again be fighting relegation right up until the final day.”

The Wigan defender/midfielder may be on the move now that Paul Jewell has left. The 27 year old Austrian International scores his full share of goals, with 6 last season. (17/05/07)

Blue Kipper says:

33. Sanli Tuncay

Sani (to his mates) is famous for his hat-trick against manure for Fenerbahçe SK in the Champions league 2004. The left sided forward/midfielder needs a new contract, as this one runs out next month. Obviously a talented player, but will the 25 year old fancy leaving his only club for the premiership and will Everton have the dosh. (17/05/07)

Blue Kipper says:

Signed For Boro

32. Paddy Kenny

Another of the Sheffield United desperate to stay in the Premiership. With Richard Wright leaving, Everton are short of a goalie. (16/05/07)

Blue Kipper says:

31. Phil Jagielka

Its over. At last after a protracted few weeks of will he come won't he come, The Jag has finally signed in at Goodison for £4m big ones. The now ex Sheffield United defender / midfielder has signed up for five years, which should give enough time for the Blues to conquer the world.

Moyesy says: "We have been trying to get Phil in for most of the summer. We are delighted to have got him in the end. He will bring competition for places and versatility. He is a good addition to our squad and we hope to add one or two more before the start of the season."

The Jag says: "I am definitely looking forward to running out at Goodison. When I played here last season the fans were fantastic and hopefully I will get to run out sooner rather than later. The manager was keen to sign me and that is always a nice sign. He has done fantastically well here and it is a fantastic club. Being in Europe, where we belong, and his pull to bring me here were massive reasons." (04/07/07)

It's a three horse race between Bolton, Wigan and the Toffeemen for the signature of the Jag. Surely we will be the winners. The Sheff Utd Chairman thinks so

Terry Robinson says: "We're waiting to see the outcome of the arbitration. If Sheffield United are reinstated, it's highly unlikely that Phil will leave. If we're not reinstated, then he'll invoke the clause in his contract. If we're reinstated we wouldn't even be having this discussion.

"He does want to play Premiership football. Phil has a high regard for Sheffield United as we all know, but sometimes it's your own career advancement that comes before other things.

"I spoke to Phil's agent this morning and we're all singing from the same hymn sheet. Everton are the favourites - it is Phil's preferred choice. Wigan and Bolton have shown some interest in him, as have Everton."(28/06/07)

Things may have turned against Everton. Wigan seem to be in the driving seat for Jags now. In the longest Everton transfer since Andrei Kanchelskis joined the blues, word has reached us that it may be the blues of Wigan and not Everton, who will be smiling when this deal is concluded. (26/01/07)

Everton are still waiting to complete a deal to sign Jags, but the independent arbitration panel is not giving a verdict on the 'will it be West Ham or Sheff Utd to go down' until the end of this month. Everton are still confident of getting Jags, as he wants to come even if Sheff Utd stay in the Premiership. (20/06/07)

Everton moved a step closer to signing Phil Jagielka after his current Boss Bryan Robson resigned himself to losing his top star. Jags wants Premiership football, Everton are in the Premiership and want Jags, Jags wants to play for Everton so no problemo, as the say in Ireland.

Robson says: "Phil has made it known that his intention is to play Premiership football and, with him having an appropriate clause in his contract, we may have to grant his wish." (08/06/07)

New boss Bryan Robson has resigned himself to losing Jags now. But he is determined to get the best deal for his club. Everton should clinch this deal next week.

Robson says: Keeping Phil looks like it is going to be a problem. He's told me that, if possible, he would rather stay in the Premiership, providing it's the best thing for both him and the club. My job now looks like it's going to be trying to ensure we get the best deal possible. That's what I'll be trying my best to do."(01/06/07)

Aston Villa, Bolton, Newcastle and Wigan are all trying to sign the versatile 24-year-old, but Jags will inform new Blades boss, Bryan Robson that he wants to move back to Everton. (28/05/07)

Moyesy will be watching Jags play for the England B side tonight. He then may sort out a bid over the weekend for the 24 year old. (25/05/07)

Jags(to his mates) is a strong centre half who scores the odd goal. He has played for the relegated Sheffield United over 280 times since 1999. If he comes to Everton it will be a big turn around, as he was once at the Everton Academy. (16/05/07)

Blue Kipper says:

Signed For Everton

30. Luke Young

Cool hand (to his mates) is an England International right back, who is looking to stay in the premiership with Charlton getting relegated. (16/05/07)

Blue Kipper says:

Signed For Boro

29. Michael Owen

Moyesy says: "Michael Owen is a terrific player but we have a forward of his style in Andy Johnson so it is not something we will be looking at." (15/05/07)

Blue Kipper says: Nil Kippers

28. Andrea Caracciolo

Andy (to his mates) is a 6' 4" Palermo striker, who has had enough of playing in pink. The Italian International is looking to move out of Sicily. Andrea D'Amico, Andy's agent is doing what all good agents do, tout his player around.

D'Amico says: "The departure of Caracciolo from Palermo is practically unavoidable, not just from the player's perspective but also the owners of the club. Andrea is not only rated in Italy but in England too, with Spurs and Everton interested, along with Rangers in Scotland, who also need a centre-back. Roma boss Luciano Spalletti is also a admirer but one cannot presume that the will of a coach can be followed through the actual nitty-gritty of negotiations as anything can happen then. But one thing is for sure about the English clubs is that they have greater economic power when bidding for and offering contracts to players, although you have to account for the higher cost of living in the UK." (08/05/07)

Blue Kipper says:

27. Michael Chopra

The Cardiff striker, who couldn't cut it at Newcastle is attracting some attention after scoring 22 goals this season.

Cardiff manager Dave Jones says: "I read one story that said Everton and Manchester City are conducting a bidding war over Michael. I don't know who they are in a bidding war with but it's not Cardiff City. We've not had an approach from either of them - or any other club. Michael is a Cardiff City player, he has just signed a new contract and clearly we want him to stay." (05/05/07)

Blue Kipper says:

Signed For Sunderland

26. Jurica Vranjes

Croatian international midfielder, Jucie (to his mates) is set to leave Werder Bremen at the end of the season. Everton are rumoured to be having a look at the twenty seven year old. (04/05/07)

Blue Kipper says:
