Fishy Out Summer 2006            Fishy in January 2007

Transfer Window - 1st January Until 31st January 2007

Talks Soon

With Alan Stubbs, Nuno Valente, Lee Carsley and Richard Wright all with their contracts expiring this summer, Moyesy has said he will start talking to them soon.

Moyesy says: “I think they have all done well. The players in those situations are playing their part. No doubt, we will in time be looking to give them contracts as well. I don’t think there is any business in the world where you can be guaranteed anything. You have to fight for everything. You have to do your job well or there will be someone who comes in to take your place. It’s the same with them. Talks are on hold until we think it is the right time to get people. We want January out the way first.”

7. Mark Hughes

As we exclusively told you early on this week, Yosser has moved on to Northampton in a bid to get first team football. Mark has signed a 2 and a half year deal. Good luck mate.

Andy Holden says: "From the minute he walked through the door at Everton he has conducted himself in a thoroughly professional manner. It's been a pleasure to have him about the place because he always had a smile on his face and always trained and played to the best of his ability. Even when I had senior players with me at reserve level, I kept Hughesy as my captain. That shows you how highly I regard him. We all wish him all the very best and I'm sure he'll do well at Northampton."

Cobbler's manager Stuart Gray says: "We are delighted to have signed Mark. He is a player I have known for a while and he is highly rated. That is confirmed by the number of clubs who have been chasing him in this transfer window. We are very fortunate to have got him and I am sure he will be an asset for us. (31/01/07)

We are hearing a little whisper that Yozzer could be on out his way from Goodison Park. He has made a couple of appearences in Carling Cup and his Premiership debut against West Ham this season. There will be plenty of clubs on the look-out for this outstanding prospect. Sheffield Utd and Stockport are said to be the early runners (24/01/07)

6. Richard Wright

West Brom new manager, Tony Mowbray is thought to be keen to take Dickie to the Hawthorns. Dickie could go for a nominal fee, as he is out of contract in the Summer. (16/01/07)

5. Davie Weir

Davie has left Goodison after eight years to play for his boyhood club Glasgow Rangers. According to his long term defensive side kick Alan Stubbs, a huge void has been left in the Everton changing room. The players are all delighted though that Davey is getting the chance to play for his first footballing love.

Stubbsey says: "We're all gutted to see him go to be honest, but we're all chuffed to bits for him as well. Rangers are getting a top man. He's really really well respected here. Since he signed he's done a fantastic job here. He's had a great career here at Everton.

Davie, with him being club captain, was always the one who would sort out tickets and he would sort out things for the lads. He was always there for people to talk to; he was the intellectual one really. So it is really sad to see him go." (18/01/07)

Davie has joined Rangers on a six month contract. He was here for eight years and played for the Toffeemen 269 times. Good Luck Davie

Moyesy says:"When David made it clear he wanted to join Rangers we did not want to stand in his way. We are sad to see him leave Everton. David has been a great servant to Everton and a model professional and everybody at the club wishes him all the best for the future."(16/01/07)

Everton's club captain should be a Rangers player by the end of the week. It looks like he will join up with former Everton boss, Walter Smith.

Weir's agent Dave Lockwood says: "It would be fair to say his choice would be Ibrox. Everton reluctantly agreed that if David wants to go and play regular football then he can leave and continue his career elsewhere. Walter has spoken to David and David has spoken to David Moyes and we hope to speak to them later on Monday, but, if it works out, he will be going to Rangers." (15/01/07)

Reports coming from Scotland are that former Everton boss Walter Smith is poised to move for the Everton club captain. The new Rangers boss signed Davey in February 1999 from Hearts for £200,000. Some say he was one of Everton's best ever buys. It's thought that Davey would like to team up again with the former Scotland manager, who brought him out of International retirement, as the 36 year old is out of contract in the Summer and also out of the first XI. Davey must weigh up if it is worth moving his family back to Scotland now with his young children settled in school on Merseyside. (11/01/07)

4. Joleon Lescott

Its all over today's papers that Real Madrid may bang in a speculative offer for our Roger, somewhere in the region of £7m. On hearing the news Moyesy is said to have smirked with indignation. Lets hope that's a good sign that the best centre half in the Prem at present is going nowhere. (05/01/07)

Real Madrid are reported to be after Roger. (12/12/06)

Bizarre one this, but Spurs are apparently tracking Joleon Lescott, and are prepared to bid £10m in January if the rumours are true. Roger signed in the Summer from Wolves for £5m, has been the star of the show this season, and Moyesy will probably laugh off Spurs interest, well we hope he does anyway. (05/12/06)

3. James Beattie

Spurs are the latest club to be linked with Everton front man James 'The Biffa' Beattie. Some papers today suggest that long time admirer of Biffa's, Martin Jol may be prepared to bid in the region of £4.5m for the out of form striker. Moyesy will not entertain Biffa leaving in this transfer window, but all could change come the Summer when no doubt the comings and goings at Goodison will increase. (28/01/07)

Along with Lord Lucan, Elvis and Shergar, no other than Biffa Beattie was spotted in Glasgow's Sauchiehall Street this week, and the rumour mill is predicting that Celtic will make a loan bid for the out of form Everton striker. The Celts Boss is Gordon Strachan who had Biffa at Southampton, and he is still a keen admirer of the Everton striker. (18/01/07)

According to some Sunday papers, Newcastle boss Glenn Roeder will offer £6m for Biffa despite Moyesy insisting the big galoot isn't for sale. (31/12/06)

Biffa is going nowhere in January according to Moyesy. Blackburn it is reported are sniffing around our out of form striker, but The Boss is adamant the his £6m purchase from Southampton is staying at Goodison. I am sure Moyesy's resolve will be tested if Mark Hughes are anyone else comes in with a decent offer.

Moyesy says: "James Beattie will not be sold in the transfer window. James is a centre forward who has done well for us and I have no doubt he will do well again for us." (27/12/06)

The latest club to be linked with Everton's badly out of form striker is Biffa's hometown club Blackburn Rovers. Mark Hughes has apparently expressed an interest, and would jump at the chance of signing Biffa is the fee was in the region of £2.5m. Everton would obviously hope for an auction for the player, with the likes of Boro and the Skunks, but me thinks Everton would be prepared to cut their losses and let him go. Biffa is said to be a little miffed after Big Vic started against Chelsea last weekend. (23/12/06)

Boro has said to shown some interest in Biffa Beattie moving to the Riverside in January. The Everton striker has found himself out of favour at Goodison since the arrival of Andy Johnson, and the emergence of Victor Anichebe this season. No doubt Moyesy will secretly be touting the forward around, but potential suitors may be put off by the size of Biffa's package, now now naughty, We meant his wages rumoured to be in excess of £20k a a week. (20/11/06)

2. Mikky Arteta

Mikky is off to Real Sociedad, but don't have a heart attack, certainly not yet. The Spanish magician has stated his desire to play again for his boyhood club, but everything about the Premiership excites Mikky, and he has a job to finish at Goodison first. Champions League Qualification for starters please Mikky.

Mikky says: "I have doubts whether the Primera Liga is still the best in the world, or if it's slightly behind the English. Everything about English football is exciting to me. Sure I would like to return home at some time. But not because I miss Real (Sociedad), but because it is my country, a Liga in which I grew up in and where I developed as player. By the way, it hurts me to see Real struggling as they are and the way the fans are suffering. I hope that everything improves." (04/11/06)

1. Simon Davies

Simon has joined Fulham for an undisclosed fee. Why is it undisclosed. Is it because Everton don't want anybody how little they got for him or is it that Fulham don't want everyone to know how much theyv'e spent? Just asking.

Davies says: "I’m really happy to have joined Fulham as Chris is a manager I know and admire very much, and I think the style of play that he has developed here will suit my game."

Coleman says: "He is a very good passer of the ball with a great engine. He’s at a good age, and I think his best years are still to come, and I am confident that he will do well for us." (24/01/07)

Now that we've got Manny, Moyesy has give Fulham permission to talk to Simple. He should sign for Fulham by the end of the day.(22/01/07)

Everton will accept an improved offer from Fulham for Simple, but only if they can get a midfield replacement. Unfortunatley according to Moyesy this is harder than we think. One thing we do know is we can all pick 10 midfield players better than Simple. They must be too expensive or not available. Here's 25 for starters in no particular order (Steve Sidwell, Tomas Sivok, Scott Brown, Matt Taylor, Nigel Reo Coker, Kieran Richardson, Giles Barnes, Lee Cook, Shaun Maloney, Kevin Nolan, Gareth Barry, Lee Hendrie, Brett Emerton, Andy Reid, Matt Holland, Bryan Hughes, Amady Faye, Papa Bouba Diop, Claus Jensen, Trevor Sinclair, Ray Parlour, Gary O'Neil, Sean Davis, Michael Tonge, Danny Murphy)

Moyesy says: “Fulham have made an offer for Simon and we know that. At this moment in time we don’t feel as if we can afford to lose midfielders unless we are able to bring anybody in. But there is nothing out there that is available, suitable or the type of player we are looking for. Finance wouldn’t change that. The offer we have got for Simon is a decent offer but it is more to do with the availability of other players. I can’t see it changing. Whether it changes tomorrow or after that, I couldn’t tell you. I have spoken to Simon and we have had two or three conversations. He knows the situation. We are working together to try and get the best for everybody. But Simon is not finished here and is part of the squad for tomorrow’s game.” (20/01/07)

Fulham may step up their bid for Simple. A price of £2.5m-£3m would tempt Moyesy, as it would give him valuable cash to go for his midfield targets. (16/01/07)

With Simple not even on the bench for the Blackburn game after being involved in the last 7 games, the rumours were flying around Goodison that he was on his way, but Moyesy has been quick to tell everyone they are barking up the wrong tree.

Moyesy says: "There is nothing in that at all. I just decided today I wanted James Vaughan in the side and wanted to get him involved. I chose not to use Simon today because we also needed a defender in view of the fact Nuno Valente had been suffering from a hamstring problem." (07/01/07)

Simple Simon has been linked with a loan move to Cardiff City. Although he has been involved with the first team squad over the last few games, the return of Tony Hibbert and Tim Cahill will see the 27-year-old Welsh international struggle to find a place on the bench. Dave Jones looks set to launch the audacious loan bid, but may have a struggle with Fulham's Chris Coleman coming for his Welsh country man. (31/12/06)

Simple may have to move on from Goodison in the January transfer window, if he cannot get a place in Moyesy's set up. The Welsh International who was signed from Spurs for £4.5m in the Summer of 2005 has only made one Premiership start this season, and frustration is starting to kick in. If Moyesy wants to strengthen this January we will probably have to sell first, and Simple may fit the bill to raise a few bob.

Simple says: "The manager decided to go a different route and you can't really argue with that because we are undefeated and the lads have done great. But if the situation hasn't changed by January I may have to consider my position. Everton are using two or three holding players in midfield, but I'm not going to question the manager. It's been successful so far but we haven't got a big squad and injuries and suspensions are going to kick in at some stage. When my chance comes I have got to be ready to take it. We don't have a big squad, but they are all quality players, and that just makes me more determined to get back in the team." (10/10/06)
