60. Óscar David Suazo Velázquez

Reports from Italy are saying Dave (to his mates) will not be needed once Mourinho has brought his own players in. The Honduran striker has played for Inter for a season after being successful with Cagliari. At 29 though he maybe a tad too old for Moyesy's team. (24/06/08)

Blue Kipper says:

Signed For Benfica On Loan

59. Darren Bent

The Spurs striker is available, as manager Ramos looks elsewhere for players. Moyesy looked at Dazza (to his mates) when he was getting rave reviews at Ipswich earlier in his career. He banged in the goals before moving to Charlton were he scored 31 goals in 68 games. The 24 year old has not secured a starting place at Spurs having hit the target 6 times in 27 games. Moyesy may have to sell to raise some money before he bids for the England Internatinal. (23/06/08)

Blue Kipper says:

58. Dejan Stankovic

With Jose Mourinho the new boss at Inter, Dragon (to his mates) maybe on his way. The Serbian captain will be 30 in September, but has a reputation of being a fit lad who scores goals. He has scored 13 goals in 73 games for his country. (22/06/08)

57. Martin Stranzl

Everton are supposed to be interested in the Spartak Moscow defender. Marty (to his mates) stared for his Austria side at Euro 2008. Aston Villa, Celtic, Galatasaray and the usual suspects are all looking at the 28 year old. A fee of £4m is being bandied about. (22/06/08)

Blue Kipper says:

56. Tranquillo Barnetta

Tranny (to his mates) is the 23 year old Swiss midfielder, who was brought down for the penalty against Portugal, enabling Switzerland to beat Portugal 2-0 in the Euro's the other night. He plays for Bayer Laverkusen in Germany. He has scored 6 goals in 32 games for his country. (19/06/08)

55. Torsten Frings

Germany's engine room Tor (to his mates) is the latest defensive midfielder to be brought to our attention. There is no doubting his quality, but at 31 he is back at his first club, Werder Bremen after winning the double with Bayern Munich and enjoying his football and family again. We'll have him, but can't see him uprooting his family to come here. (18/06/08)

54. David Bentley

With the England International saying he wants away from Blackburn, Beno (to his mates) is said to be holding out for a club with Champions league football next season. (17/06/08)

Blue Kipper says:

Signed For Spurs

53. Orlando Engelaar

Schalke 04 think they have their man.

Schalke general manager Andreas Muller says: "I hope that we can complete the deal this week. Orlando only wants to join us and made that decision some time ago. That is our trump. I know that he is wanted elsewhere, but Orlando won't change his mind. I am sure that he will be coming to us.” (25/06/08)

With ex-England boss Steve McLaren installed as the new Twente boss, Lando wants away as soon as.

Lando says: "I want there to be clarity. And that will come this week. I think it will go okay, I do hope so. I won't play at Twente with anger in my body, I am not like that, but somewhere different is nice. I just want to make the move and we have made clear agreements about that with Twente. It would be a pity if they don't want to keep to that now." (23/06/08)

With the Dutch packing their bags and heading home from Euro 08, there could be some movement soon on this one. Although Lando had virtually comitted his future to Schalke 04, he is having a re-think due to Everton's interest.

Lando's agent, Eduard Burleson, says: "We have spoken with Schalke and terms have been agreed. But the two clubs have not agreed yet, and so that is where we stand on that. I know Everton are interested and that Newcastle could soon make a move.

"He chose to speak to Schalke, firstly because there was not any interest from England at the time and also because of the coach Fred Rutten, who was so good for him at Twente. But if does not work, it is now clear could be English options." (22/06/08)

Is Lando (to his mates) the answer to the Lee Carsley replacement stakes? The FC Twente skipper has been in fine form for Holland in the Euro's. He played the full 90 minutes in the 3-0 win over Italy. The 6'5" giant also started in the 4-1 hammering of the French. At 28 years of age he certainly fits the bill. Schalke 04 are in the hunt with former FC Twente coach Fred Rutten in charge at the Bundesliga club. (16/06/08)

52. Gilberto Silva

Gilberto has joined Panathinaikos. (15/07/08)

Arsenal's spokesman says: "We have agreed to the transfer and signed the papers. It is now an official agreement. We had other offers but we respected Gilberto's desire to sign for Panathinaikos." (15/07/08)

Word has it that we have matched the £2m bid from Panathinaikos for Silva. The only problem is the Greek side is in the Champion League next season. It's up to y'self Gilly lad.(13/07/08)

Reports that 31 year old Gilberto is looking to leave Arsenal has alerted Everton to look at the possibility of the Brazilian World Cup winner coming to Goodison. Having only started 12 games for Arsenal last season, the defensive midfielder would be a great addition. Even as a member of the over 30's mob, he would still give Lee Carsley a few years, who Everton wanted to stay for a further season. (16/06/08)

Blue Kipper says:

Signed For Panathinaikos

51. Ivan Sanchez Soto

Riki wants out if he's not getting a game.

Riki says: "I want to play and if it is not possible at Deportivo I am ready for the challenge in England. The club knows my decision and I expect a quick resolution." (13/07/08)

Riki (to his mates) is looking for a move to the Premiership. The 27 year old Deportivo La Coruna striker has had spells at Real Madrid and Getafe. Ricki is having a Davie Weir in the Queen Vic tonight with Bianca to discuss the possible move away from Walford.

His agent Alexander Camara says: "Scouts from England have watched him. They are impressed with his speed and goals." (16/06/08)

Blue Kipper says:

50. Mariusz Lewandowski

Celtic looks like the choice for Mari, but odds are that he'll stay at Shaktar Donetsk.

Mari says: “Celtic are a big club and play regularly in the Champions League, so it would be a good place to play my football. I am on holiday just now, but there are people dealing with this situation that I trust.” (24/06/08)

Yet another possible replacement for Lee Carsley. Mari (to his mates) has played for Ukrainian side Shaktar Donetsk for 7 years and is 29 years old. He is an experienced defensive midfielder with 50 Polish caps, keeps possession well and is also strong in the air. He played for Poland in the 1-1 draw against Austria at Euro 2008. He was involved in the penalty awarded by Howard Webb. (14/06/08)

Blue Kipper says:

49. Kevin Thomson

Glasgow Rangers’ midfielder Kev (to his mates) is another on the list as Lee Carsley’s replacement. The 23 year old fits the bill as a powerful left-footed defensive central middle man. He is currently a regular at Rangers since moving from Hibs in January 2007. £3m to £4m would be the price if former Everton boss, Walter Smith cashed in. West Brom are also reported to be looking at the situation. (14/06/08)

Blue Kipper says:

48. Miguel Veloso

Micky (to his mates) is the latest tall defensive midfielder Everton are reportedly on the brink of signing. The Sporting Lisbon hunk is certain to be a hit with the girls. He's a left footer, only 22 and a member of the Portuguese squad in the Euro's. So far his squaaad number 18 has not been seen. Apparently Lisboa want £19m for him so it's another loan deal a la Manny. (11/06/08)

47. Christian Ribeiro

Bristol City's young defender Tyson (to his mates) is a target for Everton. Bristol manager Gary Johnson says he's heard nothing official. He was notoriously sent off in a youth game for biting off the ear of an opposing player and suspended for 12 months.

Gary Johnson says: "I have heard the rumours but there has been no official approach from Everton as yet and, until I receive a call from David Moyes, I will treat these stories as nothing more than talk." (11/06/08)

Blue Kipper says:

46. Mark Reynolds

According to sources north of the boarder, Everton and West Brom are chasing the no nonsense Motherwell defender. Marko (to his mates) who is currently on holiday in Mexico is 21 and has played 89 games for well without scoring. As a gingle and Moyesy look-a-like there are a couple of ready made songs waiting for him should the youngster join us.

Marko says: "I've spoken to the manager (Mark McGhee) and he told me the situation. He told me just to enjoy my holiday. We will speak when I get back. I've honestly not given too much thought about my future yet. I would like to speak to the gaffer and Scott Leitch (McGhee's assistant), my dad and other people to get their take on it. I'm actually quite glad to be out here in Mexico while it's all breaking because it keeps me out of the spotlight." (10/06/08)

Blue Kipper says:

45. João Filipe Iria Santos Moutinho

Moutinho says: "It's true I was interested in going to Everton, but I didn't accept the offer. But who knows what might happen next season in terms of playing in England?" (02/09/08)

The longest running saga since who shot JR, is will we won't we sign João. Bluekipper got the nod today that the Portuguese midfielder was in the city ready to put pen to paper in a deadline day deal tomorrow. After watching the Blues highlights in his hotel room tonight, he could well be back on his way home to Portugal. Lets hope not anyway, and Moyesy finally does get his man. (30/08/08)

Everton may still sign Moutinho before the transfer deadline on Monday night. Reports of last minute faxes and phone calls to finalise a transfer are flying about. What did Blue Bill say? Watch this space! (29/08/08)

Every club does it, tapping up players that is, and now Nuno Valente our Portuguese defender is telling Mr. Moutinho to stop messing around and get his arse over to Goodison. Nuno is a big fan of his countryman and he would love to see him at Everton this season. That's funny, so would we Nuno, so would we.

Nuno says: "Moutinho, of course, is a good player and he is someone that I know. He was a star at Euro 2008 for Portugal. He is sharp, he plays good football and he drives his team forward. He is also a leader – if he wasn’t, there would be no way that he would be the captain of a big club like Sporting at the age of 22. He has a strong personality.

If we spend so much money on a player like him, he would pay it back in the next few years. I would like to see him here because he is Portuguese! But the reason I would want to see him here most is because he is a good player and will improve us." (11/08/08)

Even with Sporting saying he is not for sale, Everton aim to use the money from the sale of Andy Johnson to increase their bid for Joao. (08/08/08)

Everton Chairman Bill Kenwright has confirmed that Joao remains a top target for Everton.

Blue Bill says: "That is one of the ones you can believe in the papers. He is one of his (the manager's) major targets, but there are others who have not made the papers yet, thankfully. David said last week in America 'I am only going to bring in players who will take the Club forward' and that is how he is. He is relentless in that, I have never known David say 'he'll do' or 'that'll do'. He takes his time, pinpoints and focuses. And when I actually see the player he has focussed on I say 'I get it'. I saw one this weekend on a football pitch and I said 'yeah, I see why we want that particular player'." (05/08/08)

There seems to be stalemate on this transfer happening. Apparently there is a £20m buy-out clause in Moutinho’s contract, but Everton won't pay that much and Sporting won't accept anything less. (03/08/08)

Everton are believed to be ready to up their bid to capture João. Despite the resignation of Everton's CEO, there are forces at work behind the scenes to bring Moyesy what he wants. (31/07/08)

Nothing official from Everton yet but plenty of other things happening with the possible signing of Moutinho. The player himself knows of a bid which has been rejected. There is also some a complicated statement on the Sporting web site. Let's hope we can get this fella. We need a lift on the transfer front.

João says: "Everton already made a proposal, but Sporting did not accept it. We will now see what it happens in the next few days, but Sporting already knows my will, I have already transmitted it to the people.

"What is my will? With the reasons that I have, I want to leave Sporting. I hope that an agreement can be found and that a good solution arrives for both parties."

Sporting statement:

1. Last Saturday the FIFA agent Pini Zahavi, fitted with a letter of representation issued by Everton FC visit to the headquarters of the Society and be transmitted intention of the English club offered 15 M € for the acquisition of sports rights of the player Joao Moutinho, can the that figure eventually add an amount not yet determined if the Everton FC to qualify for the Champions League.

2. The proposal was rejected outset and was sent to Mr Pini Zahavi, who acted in the dual capacity as representative of the player and Everton FC, which was not the intention Sporting, SAD transfer the player.

3. As is public knowledge, Joao Moutinho of the contract was substantially improved last year and provides for a termination clause in the value of 25 million € which can be exercised until June 15 of each year. Any proposals submitted after that date, although not binding on the Company, will have to comply with certain requirements, which did not happen.

4.Por addition to Sporting, SAD believes that their structures will have the ability to create the conditions for an athlete, that much pride, beyond the questions of a personal nature which faces and can continue to feel good and happy in their midst.

5. Finally, reveals that the personal reasons that the player pleads to transfer are completely unrelated to Sporting SAD and the employment relationship it maintains with the player and, as such, it can not justify in any way an act of management that does not advocate adequately the interests of the Company and its shareholders.(27/08/08)

Sporting have issued a statement saying Joao is not for Sale.

Sporting Lisbon President Soares Franco says: "The squad is closed for this season and we have received no offers for Joao Moutinho or Miguel Veloso. The two players are in our squad and we have no need to sell as we are financially secure. We have secured European football again for next year so have benefited from that. The squad we have at the moment is preparing to mount a title bid next season." (21/07/08)

We need a lift and could this rumour be the one that does it. In Portuguese paper A Bola it mentions Everton's interest in Moutinho and has a quote from our CEO. It would be a great signing.

Bully Wyness says: “The arrival of Joao Moutinho is a big possibility for us.” (20/07/08)

Joe wants to be left alone to concentrate on playing for Portugal. When he was asked about a possible move to Everton or Arsenal he wanted to stay focused on the Euro's.

Joe says: “Despite me longer having a buy-out clause, everything remains the same as before I started played the European Championships. I am only focused on playing for Portugal and to do the best for my country; all that I can do about the rest is wait and see. I do not want to comment about another club’s interest. I only want to think of Portugal. Then I will have the time to think about the future.” (17/06/08)

Currently staring in the Euro's with Portugal, the 21 year old is hoping for a move to the Premiership. Joe (to his mates) is at Sporting Lisbon were his sublime passing skills have made the midfielder a hero. At only 5' 7" he already has 14 caps for Portugal. Some reporters have him at Everton on year long loan deal already, even though manure and Barca are on the case. Moyesy was on his trail back in April 2005. (10/06/08)

44. Anthony Annan

Pablo's agent, Craig Honeyman is again touting his player around the Premiership.

Honeyman says: "My player is ready to move, he is ready for a big league. We all saw how outstanding he was in the Ghana team at the African Cup of Nations. There is a lot of interest in England and that is where he wants to move next in his career. I can assure you there is a lot of interest in the Premier League. We are very confident he will play in the Premiership next season." (25/06/08)

The central midfielder is a similar type of player to his Ghanaian team mate Michael Essien. He is playing in Norway with Stabaek where he is on loan from IK Start. At 21 years old, Pablo (to his mates) already has 12 International caps to his credit.

Agent Craig Honeyman says: "He is definitely looking to move this summer. He was outstanding in the Africa Cup and that only shows what standard he is up to at this stage. His priority is most definitely a move to England. There is interest and a lot from the Premier League, but we are not going to start naming names at this stage, but there are a number who have expressed their interest.” (07/05/08)

Blue Kipper says:

Signed For Rosenborg BK

43. Tom Huddlestone

Big Tom has signed a 5 year deal with Spurs, keeping him at White Heart Lane until 2013. (30/06/08)

More info reaching us that Tall Tom (to his best mates) has told his best mates that he's moving North. So now Carlisle are in the mix. (11/06/08)

Big Tom (to his mates) all 6'3" of him has had a fine season for Spurs, culminating in him joining the England squad for the friendly games against USA and Trinidad & Tobago. The 21 year old midfielder/defender would be a great acquisition, but we can't see him leaving Spurs even though he's a northern lad. (06/06/08)

Blue Kipper says:

42. Joe Lewis

Word on the grapevine is that Joe has been up to have a look around at Everton and that he likes what he sees and would like to sign. It all depends on the spondoolas. (24/06/08)

Peterborough's director of football Barry Fry insists he has heard nothing from Everton.

Fry says: "It's a fact that everyone in football rates Joe Lewis. He is going to be a top, top goalkeeper and newspapers picking up stories linking him with big clubs is no surprise. But it is all paper talk at the moment. I have heard nothing from Everton, but that doesn't mean they are not interested. (07/06/08)

Everton want a keeper now that Wessels has gone, so in comes the new kid on the block. Bomber (to his mates) has just been in the England squad for the Trinidad and Tobago game. The 21 year old is 6'6' tall and has been voted in the division 2 team of the season due to his outstanding performances at Peterboro. (06/06/08)

Blue Kipper says:

41. Scott McDonald

Moyesy is believed to be preparing a raid on his old club Celtic, as he goes for Australian goal scoring machine Scott McDonald. Macca netted 31 times for the Hoops in their Premiership winning season, and a bid of £2m is being touted around. One Celtic web site have said no chance at that price, but if The Yak and Roger head in the other direction they may be interested. Well Macca must be shit hot then, so keep plugging away Moyesy. As we know money talks in football, and Premiership wages far exceed anything paid up in Scotland, but Moyesy still may have to up his price to prize the striker to Goodison. (05/06/08)
