Where you at Goodison Park on Saturday 11th May 1963?
Where you, your Mum & Dad, your sister, brother or uncle part
of the 60,578 crowd that saw Roy Vernon score a hat-trick and Alex
Scott score the other in a 4-1 win over Fulham?
If you can name somebody e-mail bluekipper.com * I'm pretty sure the bloke in the suit is none other than Gordon West. Tom. (20/05/04) *
The "suit" glugging the champers I think is Gordon West, who
was injured that day, I'm sure Albert Dunlop was in nets, interesting
to me that piccy, because a larger version was in the Everonian mag
a couple of months ago where you could see more of the crowd in the
stand, and who's face was beaming at me, none other than my old Dads,he
told me Roy Vernon scored with a header for the one and only time
for us that day,but he didn't intend it,the cross just hit him on
the head and went in!!! Wish I had been around to see that, looked
a great day!! * Totally amazed that you guys don't recognise young Gordon West, swigging the champers....he was injured for the run in......nothing wrong with his drinking arm though.......J. Walsh. (11/05/04) |
