All Evertonians have dreamed of stepping up and taking a penalty at Goodison Park on a match-day and we are giving everyone a chance to do it with a brand new competition to be launched later this week.

The first round of The Everton Collection Appeal’s very own Penalty Shoot Out will take place during half-time at the Newcastle United game on Sunday 27 November 2005. By entering the competition, you could take a penalty at Goodison Park and win a place in the Shoot-Out final during the Merseyside derby on Wednesday 28 December.

On top of this ‘once in a lifetime’ experience there is a super cash prize and you’ll be helping to bring home the Club’s history because the proceeds from this text competition will go toward the purchase of the unique Everton Collection.

To enter the competition, answer the following multiple choice question and text EFC followed by a, b or c plus your name and address to 87085: -

A text will cost just £1.50 and 80p of this will go towards the Everton Collection Appeal. If you get through, you will be invited to play in the first round on 27 November and if you’re skilled enough to beat the competition, you could be playing in the final on Derby Day!

The Everton Collection is a unique collection of artefacts, letters, medals and other ephemera surrounding the history of Everton Football Club. The Collection, which is not only of local importance to Evertonians and Merseyside people in general, but also of significance nationally, is now for sale and the Everton Collection Appeal is attempting to generate £800,000 worth of funds to purchase it.
