Members of the Ruleteros Society, the organisation that helps to forge links with the other Everton, in Chile, South America have made a donation of £750 to the Everton Collection Charitable Trust to help acquire the David France Collection of memorabilia and artefacts.

The donation was made on the pitch at Goodison prior to the recent Sheffield United match when Ian Wilson and Paul Wilcox gave a cheque to Tony Tighe, a Trustee of the Everton Collection Charitable Trust.

"We have initiated a number of activities to raise funds over the summer months" said Ian Wilson of the Ruleteros Society, "and by far the most profitable was our world cup sweep. We are just delighted to help with such a worthy cause for all Evertonians."

"These guys have done a terrific job and on behalf of my fellow Trustees and all Evertonians I would like to congratulate and thank them" said Tony Tighe. "Last week I gave a talk to the Everton Shareholders Association Forum on our campaign and we also raised over £100 on the night. I hope that other Everton fans groups can help us with other fund raising initiatives of their own".

“In recent weeks, following the website publicity, a number of individuals have posted donations for which we are really grateful.”

"We are almost half way there now towards our target and we are going to announce a major initiative shortly to help us to finally achieve our goal."

Once the Charitable Trust has acquired the Collection it will be placed in the Liverpool Records Office in Liverpool to enable all football fans to access what has been described by Christies as the greatest collection of its kind in the world. (26/10/06)
