Today Everton Football Club were given until the end of the Year to finalise arrangements in raising £30m to keep their Kings Dock Stadium hopes alive. Everton held their monthly Board meeting a day early at Stamford Bridge before last nights Worthington Cup match. We understand that the meeting was not fully behind Paul Gregg's 'reverse mortgage' deal, but gave its backing to Bill Kenwright's plan. Blue Kipper understand that Blue Bill has raised a significant chunk of the total, but needs more time to finalise the complicated financial deals with various partners. Blue Bill says: ""I can raise £35 million for the Kings Dock Arena."

Sir Joe Dwyer, Chairman of Liverpool Vision, announced: "Liverpool Vision received a late letter from Mr. Kenwright today." He would not go into the contents, as he said it needed digesting & analysing, but did say that Everton would be given 4 weeks to raise the last of the money.

last week Blue Kipper appealed to The Board to give it one last go to get the money. Bill Kenwright, we know has been very busy in meetings trying to do just that. It looks like that The Liverpool Vision Board, who meet tomorrow, will grant Everton the extension, & Blue Bill will bring home the bacon.

Leader of The City Council, Mike Storey said: "We are close, very close." Then in another interview said: "My view is that if Everton fail - and I hope and think they won't - then we can hit the ground running to put together a publicly funded arena. It's that important to the city. A 15,000 seat arena would cost a lot less and we wouldn't need a rolling football pitch." (05/12/02)
