Nice Touch - " 1878" on the back of the shirt

White Socks & Shorts

What The Fans Think of The New Kit (Photos Above)

* Smashing kit, love it cant wait for it to come out, wish they would give us some better profile players to look forward to though! 10/10...
Diz. (10/05/04)

* Smart. Dead smart. Nice to see they've gone for the traditional look with the white socks. Looks alot the the kit from the wonder years. But why wait until July or August though? That's thousands of pounds that the club miss out on. Money could of gone to moyes. Typical Everton I suppose. Matthew Gahan. (10/05/04)

* It'll do fer me! I like the plainness of it. None of the fancy stuff that dates dead quick. Love the white socks...always have since the 60's...hated the blue ones of this season. Lets hope the results next season are as good. Glad to be rid of this season. blueheart...(10/05/04)

* Would someone tell Umbro we play in Royal Blue. rgds Paul ROYAL BLUE Watson. (10/05/04)

* i think the new everton kit is fantastic i cant wait 4 it t come out I'm getting it straight away i think it will be better if we has JJB on the front instead of KEJIAN. Fran. (10/05/04)

* Its great, and with the anti-odour thingy I never have to wash again. Reynard T Fox. (10/05/04)

* the best kit in years well better than last seasons should bring us some luck cos we were top when we had the white sox.
joshkinny. (10/05/04)

* this kit is quality a bit like the 80's kit which should bring us some luck! Peter Kinny. (10/05/04)

* why are we sponsored by umbro why not puma? jmseels. (10/05/04)

* Yeah, looks very nice especially the 1878 on the back BUT, if JJB are involved, does that mean that all their stores will stock our kit? The JJB shops in Coventry and Rugby told me this year that they don't stock Everton strip as it doesn't sell. The manager asked me to leave when I pointed out to him that if you ain't got it on the shelf, of course it won't bloody well sell. Obviously a Redshite.
Paul Rees in Coventry, happy that Reidy is their manager but will always be a Blue nose. Paul Rees. (10/05/04)

* Why the minging white collar??? Umbro always fuck it up! Should've kept Puma at least the last two home kits were bang on. Wait for the away kit bet that'll be poo. Steven Bowler. (10/05/04)

* Plain and simple. But i cannot think of any other club in the entire planet that has released 9 bloody different jerseys in the last 3 seasons. They never even wore the 3rd strip this season, cos it was sky blue. Who's bright fuckin idea was that? Conor Ireland. (10/05/04)

* Kits well decent. Like paul said (see below) how about some more decent players to put in it? thank you. jason paul middleton. (10/05/04)

* The new kit is a bit of a relief, no Blackburn tribute effort, upside down stripes or star trek collar shite, and the white socks are a step in the right direction but is it a one year kit or two? all this one year historical jersey bollocks is costing a fortune to kit out my lad. It does look like the usual Chelsea kit with an Everton badge lack of effort that Umbro used to put into our kits. Man Utd always had their state of the art design and Celtic seemed to get individual jerseys, but fuck Everton! One final moan, why do the club feel it's necessary to have 'EVERTON' woven under the club badge, if you don't know already it doesn't matter! Andy Cameron. (10/05/04)

* I reckon the new kit is boss, although I did really like having puma as a sponsor, but i want to know who is are kit sponsor. I've heard that jjb are just going to be selling more merchandise and that budweiser is going to be are sponsor which would be class. Elaine Gleeson. (10/05/04)

* In answer to Blue Sue's comment, i think all the merchandise will be made by Umbro now, so our forward thinking marketing department must be trying to flog anything made by Puma on the cheap. On the other hand you could be right and the titheads on the board are gonna sell Rooney!!!! UP THE TOFFEES!!!!!! Alan Mc. (10/05/04)

* the new kit looks a bit like ranger's kit? cant our designers think of anything new. Tony Ford. (10/05/04)

* It looks alright. Glad to see the white socks back.Hope it's lucky for us. Paul W. (Chancellor) (10/05/04)

* Quality! Hopefully we can have some success now! Alec. (10/05/04)

* I don't know what it is but it reminds me of that nasty one2one shirt in the 98/99 season i think oh and are we actually going to keep this fucking shirt. James From Waterloo. (10/05/04)

* I personally don't care what the f##king kit looks like as long as it is blue and has our badge on it. It will look very nice in 2005 when we are up against Reading and f##king Wallsall. As long as this fancy new kit transforms into money in Moyesy's back pocket we'll be happy, otherwise he'll be on his way and we will do a Leeds.
Mark Warren. (10/05/04)

* I think the kit is great - glad we've gone back to the white socks - tradition and all that. Have heard that there is a cock up over the new sponsors - Budweiser - and that the new kit, with new sponsor's logo, won't be ready to go on sale till late August (again!!). Typical EFC!! Up the Blues!!!!!!!!!!!! Phil (Huyton). (08/05/04)

* I love the new strip, the white socks are far better than the blue of last season. i also thing the badge is the best on a shirt in a long long time. i wonder if the new away kit will be amber or white this time? as long as we stay as far away as the old salmon colour the better! David, Runcorn (08/05/04)

* I really like the kit, it is good to see us go back to white socks, but what about giving Davie Moyes some money to buy some good players to play in this nice kit. It’s no good having one of the smartest kits in the Premiership but having the shittest players!! Lee. St Helens. (08/05/04)

* Don't care if it's a bin liner as long as we keep Joey Yobo and The Duke in it. Tel, Sheffield. (08/05/04)

* The shirt is good, I like white socks ,but PLEASE can we have some shorts the players can wear without looking like they are growing into them? Chris Sinclair. (08/05/04)

* I think that that the new kit is absolutely superb. The last three home kits have seen a gradual improvement with Everton combining style with tradition. Finally the club have listened to many of the fans in returning to the white socks which are so much smarter and remind us all of the days when Everton were successful. Lets hope the close season also brings us the quality signings that Moyes and the fans deserve. A return to an all black away kit, synonymous with the 2002/03 season would round things off nicely. Luke Skelhorn. (08/05/04)

* i think the new kit is great although its similar to this seasons. i believe it looks more professional and i really like the white socks and shorts. I'll be looking proud like Yobo does when I'm wearing mine. come on you blues! Tom. (08/05/04)

* Good effort although we all like the blue & white socks better than all white.Bit similar to Chelskis shirts this season too. Ralph (08/05/04)

* ITS NOT NICE. WHITE SOCKS ARE FOR WOOLS. Kate. (08/05/04)

* Nothing special is it, but I can't really tell until I've seen it in the flesh, hopefully there are there are some nice little details, interesting use of fabrics etc etc which will enrich the kit making it a classy little number. The white socks look good, shame its a little inconstant though. I think it is a negative move dropping PUMA though, over the past few years they have really improved their brand, employing decent in house and guest designers, in my view puma are making the best kits bar far, they are slick & sophisticated and have a great cut. Umbro is a positive move in terms of they only make football gear and the have a long standing tradition in football and with Everton, but they need to employ some more contemporary designers, Umbro kits look dated, lack finesse and date really quickly, just look at the england kits for example. The worst thing that can happen though is if this kit turn out to be a generic Umbro jersey that is used for all the teams they make kits for. We need to be unique! All the best, Jeff Knowles. (08/05/04)

* It's all very well going on about new kit, what we really want is a new team. Will this kit make them play any better? NO, lets invest in players not kit. Mike Kendrick. (08/05/04)

* I don't really like it as it doesn't look any different to the others we've had. It looks as though they have combined this seasons kit with last seasons. I prefer the blue sock to white as we usually wear white as change home socks. Paul. (08/05/04)

* Nothing fancy this time which is good , I just hope they've got the Royal Blue right - it was too light the last time we wore white socks. Prefer the collar on this one - this season's was too thin & flimsy. ( Notice they haven't got the sponsors sorted yet !)- What's new- Dunford's still in charge of that!!!! Have a good summer Blues. - St Dom. (08/05/04)

* All well and good having a new kit,how about some new players to put in it. Thank you and goodbye.
Paul. (07/05/04)

* I'm a bit confused, did anyone else think that the deal with JJB meant that they would be replacing Kejian as the shirt sponsor? What exactly is their role, are they the only ones licensed to sell it? I do like the new strip, nice and traditional. The addition of the 1878 logo on the back of the collar is a nice touch. Also, even though Puma have been getting better, I'm glad to go back to Umbro. Lets hope the Away & 3rd strips are as impressive (any ideas?). Great site. Colin (in Telford). (07/05/04)

* Think the new kit is great, modern but keeps with tradition. But can anyone tell me why all the Rooney merchandise is 50% or 25% off in the Megastore? Do EFC know anything we don't?? Lets hope not. If Wayne goes, Moyesy will shortly follow, and they are both the future of our great club. Love the site!! Everton forever. Blue Sue. (07/05/04)

* I think the new Everton football kit is boss, seriously, i really like the way we have went to white socks, and i think umbro is well better than puma....and the white stripes and white v-neck is boss on the top also, really looking forward to the match even more now against bolton, lets just hope this kit has a good luck charm on staurday.......Mick Makaveli. (07/05/04)

* Alright lads, I like the new kit. The home one has a number of appealing features (1878 on the back, a beautiful Royal Blue colour scheme, unlike that crappy penultimate Umbro home kit worn during Howard Kendall's last tenure in the hot seat) plus it looks a bit like the Umbro kit from when we last won the league. The Goalie kit is a natty number too. Thanks for keeping the faith lads and not being as depressingly negative as some other Everton web sites I could mention! Regards, Ste. (07/05/04)

* one word - SHIT. Kinetichammer. (07/05/04)

* The New Umbro Kit., What do I think of it ..in a word "Rubbish!" its last years kit with a V neck not round neck and a Umbro badge again! When will Everton get some style and go back to when we had good kits, Why not have a modern day version of the half white ,half Royal blue shirt of the 80's now there was a kit! Sorry this kit does nothing for me its just plain BORING! Ben Lloyd , Somerset. (07/05/04)

* Is this kit new? Maybe for Everton but it looks ever so close to Chelski's present kit. Typical of Everton, never striving to set standards always following other teams, who makes these constant shite decisions. Shite Kit. ( Do we expect anything else). John Mc. Waterloo. (07/05/04)

* its alright but it looks a bit old fashioned. in today's football the need to look new and stand out.
sean rimmer, 14. (07/05/04)

* no thought, just another cover up. so on top of my £80 hike in season ticket the board want another £40 for the same crap.do u know a trading standards officer? dave barlow. (07/05/04)

* to be honest what is new about the new kit i thought jjb were new kit sponsor but all said and done i will buy it for me and my son. mark hughes. huyton. (07/05/04)

* excellent always preferred the white socks much smarter. Ian. (07/05/04)

* Email the Everton Communications department as to why the kit won't be on sale until August. If you didn't know already. Julian Edward Evitts. (07/05/04)

* Is it me or do our beloved club always look better with white socks? remember Alan Ball, Joe Royle etc, even in the 80s when we won nearly everything, we had white socks, the new strip looks great, if it had NEC or HAFNIA on it, it would be called a 'retro' kit!! keep up the good work fellas. Andy C. (07/05/04)

- St Dom. (07/05/04)

* I don't really like it as it doesn't look any different to the others we've had. It looks as though they have combined this seasons kit with last seasons. I prefer the blue sock to white as we usually wear white as change home socks. Paul. (07/05/04)
