New Kit 2002/2003
Heres the good news. Well the new kits out and looks spot on to us. You may remember back in April that we told you what the new kit was going to look like(see below). We were spot on as well. We do have our contacts. David Unsworth said:"I think it is an excellent kit.One of the best we’ve had for years and the fact that it’s back to the royal blue, the way it should be, is even better. I’m sure that Evertonians everywhere will be delighted with it.” But the bad news is you can't get your mits on them until 30th August. Ian Ross, Everton's Head of Corporate Affairs and PR said: "It is regrettable that we are unable to launch the new kit for the beginning of the season. The delay has been caused by negotiations with regard to a possible new club sponsor "(05/07/02)
1. Home Kit 2. Away Kit Here are the new strips! Everton will be wearing them for season 2002/2003. Everton will wear the Traditional Royal Blue, with no white anywhere to be seen. The away shirt will be all white, going back to the 60's when we played in all white in Europe. Apparently the shirt will be made with a new fabric, which will cling to the torso. It has been developed so all the dirty shirt pulling players will have nothing to get hold of. First thought is great. But then you think of all the big fat 'arl fellas, who will be wearing them - Namely the fans. There are going to be some cracking sights. Especially with the Lycra type shirts highlighting the ale guts. To combat this Everton are going to bring out new sizes 1. XXXXL (Extra, extra, extra, extra Large) & 2. FM (Fuckin Massive). (11/04/02) Everton may have no sponsor on The Shirt Everton maybe persuaded to forfeit thousands of pounds to go without a sponsor for next season to celebrate being the only club in the world to be in top flight football for 100 years. Ian Ross, explained: "There is a body of people (wonder who he means?) who think that we shouldn't have a sponsor this year, a la Real Madrid, as we're the first club to celebrate 100 years of top flight football. "There is a feeling that if we can't find a sponsor who is suitable in financial terms then maybe we should leave the shirt blank, or have '100 years' printed on it or something - a special collectors' item for one year only." e-mail Blue Kipper with your views. 3. Yellow/Blue 4. Black/White As Everton are still deciding what to do for next season, we asked Evertonian Matt McCormack, our Student Graphic Designer, to design a couple of kits. Between us we came up with these above. What do you think? Which one do you like the best? Also do you think that we should have a sponsor, or a logo depicting our world record "100 Years in the Top Flight Division". See below.
