Everton kept their 100% record with a 2-1 win in the 'derby game' at Walton Hall Avenue. Everton were always in command and should have scored more goals. Chell Evans got a brace to give Everton the points and keep them top of the league.
Coach Keith Marley: "They just came to frustrate us really. We dominated the game totally, but after the second goal we were just expecting to score more goals that never came. They were just pushing the ball forward and then we got totally sloppy and let them score. It was a shambles really, a joke of a goal. However, we are going to get scrappy wins, especially with it being a derby game. A win's a win, but that's the worst we've played so far this season.” (16/09/04) Last
Saturday was the first day of most of the girls seasons, the match details
are below. However the Ladies first team have considerably strengthened
the side during the summer and now have six England internationals in
the side - they have started the season fantastically and have won 4
league games out of four including a hammering of Leeds 8-0 at Leeds
on the opening day of the season ! Last weekend they beat Lincoln 6-0
in the first round of the league cup with Chantelle Parry(2), Kelly
McDougall, Fara Williams, Michelle Evans and Jody Handley scoring for
the Toffees. Tonight, (Wed. 15/09/04) at Walton Hall Park, Everton ladies play Liverpool in the first derby of the season at 7:30p.m. Ladies Update Everton under 10's A 7-0 Birkdale The girls kept their 100% record with a win on Saturday with Caroline Lambert again keeping a clean sheet. Jess Miley (2), Suzanne Baker (2), Emma McFawn, Amy Panayi and Ellie Grey scored the goals. The performances were excellent all round but Jess Miley and Victoria Byrne were the pick of the bunch. Everton under 10's B 4-1 Wirral The younger girls (nearly all 8 yrs of age) again put on a fantastic attacking display of football - they really are a joy to watch. Shannon Beckwith and Kayleigh Brand both getting two each with Kayleigh also getting the girl of the match award. Everton under 12's A 2-1 Liverpool Paige Forster and Alex Greenwood got the goals for the blues in their first game against Liverpool this season the league is usually decided on the results of these games and even this early in the season it was very important to get a win. Everton under 12's B 5-3 Birkdale Everton under 14's 8-1 Wigan Athletic The 14's got back into their stride after the defeat by Manchester Utd last week and took the game to Wigan early on with Tony Duggan looking very sharp in the opening 20 minutes. Tony scored four of the goals with Amy Cleaver, Kasey Currie, Stephanie Marsh and Tez Langdon completeing the eight. Amy Cleaver had an outstanding game in central midfield. Everton 16's vs Preston - Postponed They played mid week against Garswood winning 8-0 . It was a one sided game controlled by the Blues who besides scoring 8 peppered the Garswood goal with shots . Garswood had only one real chance which the Blues keeper dealt with. Everton played some really nice football throughout the game. We are looking forward to playing some stronger opposition so the coaching team can see players in a more competitive situation. The 'A' team won easily in their game against Wigan 5-1. Louise Rogers with two fine goals, a volley by Alex Wooton, a long shot come cross by Catherine Martin and a fantastic overhead volley from a cornerkick by Clare Rule saw Everton to victory. The Blues often sprang the Latics offside trap and constantly threatened the opposition net. Louise Rogers got player of the match. The Reserves lost 2-0 to Birmingham who they play again this week in the cup. Regards. Kev Hazard. (17/10/04) What do you think? e-mail bluekipper.com |
