Mo
says: "This is a fantastic night for Everton.
It's the first time since we beat Arsenal in 2005 that the players
have shown the absolute belief in themselves that they showed
on that occasion. Now we have to build on this - and it will hopefully
be the start of Everton becoming a successful team winning trophies
on a regular basis."
Amy
says: "I've
been ballooning chances over the bar of late and the girls reckoned
I couldn't score. But I kept telling them I was waiting for the
cup final - and I showed them! It was a great team performance
and a deserved win."
Blue
Bill says:
“This is a truly memorable and historic victory for the Everton
girls. I know how much work they put in and they deserve everything
they have achieved. I send the congratulations of every member
of the Everton board.” (28/02/08)

Best
Of Luck Girls
Everton
Ladies take on the might of Arsenal tonight in the Womens League
Cup Final at the home of Leyton Orient. Arsenal Ladies have
already turned Everton over 2-0 this season, and they are currently
romping the League, although Everton Ladies are in hot pursuit
with a hatful of games in hand. Our best wishes go to the Girls,
and Mo Marley Everton's Coach has hopefully done her homework.
If you want to catch up with the Final tonight, tune into Sky
Sports Two at 7:30pm for full live coverage.
Mo
Marley says: "We have done our homework and now
our job is to find the
chinks in their game plan. We need to find out what our assets
are against them and hopefully marry the two together. Hopefully
if the game plan is successful and the girls play to their true
potential and have no fear, then I am confident we can get a
result. Kelly McDougall is in the squad, she has made a great
recovery. She has played a couple of games for the reserves
so it’s brilliant to have the likes of Kelly and the captain
Leanne (Duffy) back. We have got 16 fully fit players which
is brilliant because for the majority of the season we have
had only 12 or 13 fit players." (28/02/08)

Ladies Ease Through To 5th Round Of The FA Cup
Everton
Ladies went one better than the men's side when the beat Southern
Division side Barnet 9-0 in the FA Cup 4th round. Goals from Fern
Whelan, Jill Scott, Amy Kane, Jody Hanley and 2 from Michelle
Evans gave Everton a 6-0 lead at half time. In the second half
Michelle Hinnigan scored her first goal for the club, Rachel Unitt
made it 8-0 and Jody Hanley scored her second and Everton's ninth.
Everton
manager Mo Marley says: "It was a very good performance.
We demanded more from them after our last game against Watford
before Christmas. To be honest we won the game in the first half
an hour. We were good individually and good as a team. They were
no mugs, but our first touch passing created a lot of chances
for us. We did score a lot from set-plays, but we do need to be
better from free play. But we’re building on that and today was
progress. I was more than pleased with our performance, from front
to back." (07/01/08)

On Target To Win Euro Group
Mo
Marley’s Everton Ladies team have won the first two games in their
group. Having beaten Gintra Universitetas 4-0 on Thursday with
goals from Fara Williams, Jody Handley, Becky Easton and Rachel
Unitt, they followed up with an 11-0 hammering of Glentoran of
Northern Ireland. Goals by Amy Kane (3), Toni Dugan (2), Emily
Westwood, Fara Williams, Jody Handley, Kelly McDougal, Michelle
Evans and Lindsay Johnson scoring her first goal for the club.
This
first stage is taking place in one location - Gintra Universitetas
in Lithuania. Everton top the group and now play FFC Zuchwil of
Switzerland later on today.
Team
boss, Mo Marley on the Gintra game says: "It was
a good start and I was pleased with the performance. We could
have scored more goals but it was pleasing that we did not concede
a goal. It has been a bit of whirlwind since we arrived and we
have not had that much time to prepare but the quality of the
side shone through. Gintra have played in the UEFA Cup before
and their experience showed at times but it was a good team showing
today." (14/08/07)

Mo
Marley wants to put Everton Ladies firmly on the European
map.
Mo
says: "The Uefa Cup is a gift that we have
been given with Arsenal going on to win it last season.
It is an opportunity that we are happy to take and we
are going there with every intention of justifying why
we are the second best team behind Arsenal. It is something
new for us and we want to go make a stamp on it and hopefully
it is the start of more Uefa competitions in the future
for us. We
are on the look out for new players. It is not about establishing
a team in one season, it's about building a jigsaw. There
are pieces of the jigsaw that need to be improved. To
make that transition from second to first we need to improve
and build from last season."

England
goalkeeper, Rachel Brown thinks Everton have got the International
experience to do well in Europe.
Rachel says: It's something we've never
done before. Arsenal did everyone a massive favour by
bringing a second team into the competition. It's new
territory for us and it can only be positive for Everton
Football Club. We're all really excited about it. We hope
we will get the interest of the fans and we are very proud
to be in that situation. I don't think any other club
in this country has ever had their men's and women's teams
in the UEFA Cup in the same season. We've got plenty of
players with international experience. Even the younger
members of the squad have played for England at Under
19 and Under 17 level. It's
an unbelievable challenge to have and it will be interesting
to see who we get in the draw. We're just happy to be
there." (18/06/07)
