* Everton girls under 14s took Wigan on in the quarter final of the Cup on Saturday at Bootle Stadium. This was not one of the best games you ever are going to see. Wigan set out their stall to protect their goal early on which they did to some effect. To be fair the Blue's never really got into their stride. However they were always in control of the game, this was shown in the fact that Gemma in the Blue's goal only touched the ball 3 times throughout the game. The goal scorers were Faye McCoy 2, Kate Darby 2 ,Franny Williams 2 ,Stacy McMahon, Eve McNally and a last minute effort from Lauren Hazard. The managers (Andy) player of the match was Lauren Cassidy. * The under 16's traveled to Burnley on Sunday but the referee called the game off because of a frozen pitch. * The Ladies 'A' team had no game but in the Divisional Cup were drawn at home in the second round versus Welsh club Llangefni on January 11th. * The ladies first team entertained Doncaster Belles on Sunday at Marine and were 2-0 up after 20 minutes with goals from Karen Boyle and Leanne Duffy, a controversial incident including Rachel Brown our England International goalkeeper saw her sent off and Doncaster ran out 5-2 winners. It was a disappointing result for the ladies who had beaten Leeds at home last week and were looking to consolidate their position in the top 3 or 4 of the premier league. Regards. Kevin Hazard.
