England U21's @ Goodison

Goodison Park

England will play @ Goodison Park for the European Championship qualifier against Portugal on Tuesday, 9th September, 2003.
Michael Dunford says: "We are absolutely delighted to be hosting what is a most prestigious and high-profile fixture. This will be the first competitive international game to be staged at Goodison Park since the 1966 World Cup Finals. I am certain that the Everton public - indeed, Merseyside football-lovers in general - will throw their weight and their support behind this event and make it a night to remember. We would like to believe that this game is, in some way, a pre-cursor to a full international fixture at Goodison."
Peter Clarke has captained the side, but will he still be an Everton player in September. Tickets are on sale at the box office up until the kick-off at 8.00pm. (24/06/03)

New Kid On The Block

Adam Pepper is 11 & is an Evertonian. He goes to St John's school in Kirkdale. He wants to play for Everton when he grows up. Nothing unusual about this. Most kids his age have the same ambition. He is captain of the city's schoolboy team, & is a bit special.

That much so, clubs from all over Europe are after his signature. Man Utd, Arsenal, Ajax, Rangers, Tottenham, Blackburn, Manchester City, Bolton, the shite have all showed interest. They will do anything to entice him.

Adam has reportedly been sent boots by David Beckham, birthday cards by Ryan Giggs, and visited at his home by Michael Owen and Steven Gerrard. They just want to be his mate.

So Adam has an agent. The same agent Wayne Rooney started with. Peter McIntosh, who runs the X8 Sports management with help from former Everton midfielder John Ebbrell, says: "Adam will eventually go where he is happiest. A lot of clubs have shown an interest in him already and that is why his dad, Ronnie, asked me to look after him. Adam has a lot of ability. It is difficult to compare players but he is certainly as talented."

His dad, Ronnie says: "I don't want all the bright lights for Adam yet. I've stopped taking him to games now because I just get pestered by agents and club officials all the time."

Adam says: "I'd like to play alongside Wayne Rooney at Everton one day. I look up to him. I am only young so I am not bothered about all those clubs, they can all wait. I don't understand what all the fuss is about really - I'm just enjoying what I'm doing. I am always being sent new pairs of boots - we've had to turn the shed into a boot room. They ask me which type I like best but I just like wearing the black ones."

Leave the kid alone! Come back in 5 years to see midfielder, Adam Pepper (Evertonian) put the ball through for Wayne Rooney (Evertonian) to score the winner at The New Wembley Stadium for Everton. (24/06/03)

Question of Sport

Blue Bill is to appear on a 'Soap Stars Special of A Question of Sport' on Friday 20 June - His Corrie past has come back to haunt him. He's up against another Evertonian Claire Sweeney (ex-Brookie) and two EastEnder chirpy cockerny geezers. (06/06/03)

Goodbye Widnes, Hello Southport

Haig Avenue, Southport.

Everton have kicked The Halton Stadium into touch. The pitch ended up a mud heap, with it being used by Widnes Vikings rugby league team, as well as Runcorn FC. Moyesy has had a look at the pitch at Haig Avenue, & was impressed. Although no formal agreement has been signed, it looks like Southport will be the new home for Everton Reserves next season. If there is any fan, who fancies reporting on some of the reserve games next season, e-mail Blue Kipper. (02/06/03)

7th Again!

Everton finished 7th in the attendance league this season, the turnstiles at Goodison clicked 731,334 times (not including any nippers who were lifted over or bunkers-in).
Our average gate was 38,491 making us the 7th best in the Prem (Man U, Newc, shite, Chelsea, Sund & Leeds), we were over 95% full throughout the season (capacity 40,170). In our final game there were only 2 spare seats as we clocked 40,168 was anyone missing sat next to you?
Surely these figures will not only put as smile on Dumbford's face but also more cash in Moyesy's kitty (27/05/03)

Moyesy has offered one year contracts to 6 young Everton players, who have made an impression in the reserves this season. Sean O'Hanlon & Leon Osman have already signed. Alan Moogan, Stephen Schumacher, & Michael Symes have already agreed to accept them, but Kevin McLeod has yet to agree, but he has been involved in the play-offs while on loan at QPR. (17/05/03)

Thanks from Man U & The Bizzies

The plaudits for Everton fans and for the players and the Club have been flooding in all day following our final game against the Champions, Man U yesterday.
Ruud Van Kneesdestroyed said '"I think they are great fans."
"The way they supported their team was amazing and they also showed big heart and class to applaud us for winning the championship. That is the way football should be and I thank the fans for that."
The Police also had a good word, Inspector Phil Anderson, Force Incident manager for Merseyside Police, said 'Hello, hello, hello' and that he felt the event had passed off successfully. Well done to all those who showed that we are amongst the best supporters in the land, hopefully it will not be too long before the Premiership trophy is being held aloft at Goodison by the Everton Captain (12/05/03)

Rapid Vienna Final - New DVD/Video

Rotterdam 1985

ILC Sport (the company that have made the Everton videos and DVDs in the last three seasons) have contacted Blue Kipper wanting help from you the fans. They are re-voicing the Everton v Rapid Vienna 1985 European Cup-Winners Cup Final with Ray Stubbs as summariser (the original commentary has been unfortunately ‘wiped’), and really want some input from fans who were in Rotterdam on the night, and / or who were following Everton in that unbelievable 1984/85 season.

What were the issues on the day? Everton had won the title by then. Did it work against them? Everton had lost to Nottingham Forest the previous weekend – first league defeat in 18 successive matches! Did that defeat affect the attitude to the Cup Final on the night? Was the Bayern Munich game really a better performance, looking back? What effect did it have on tha FA Cup final 3 days later? What made that side such a successful side that season in your opinion?

Anything you can contribute would be great. Also – any feedback on the videos in the last three years? What you liked / hated? 1995 FA Cup Final DVD? Who would you like to see presenting an Everton End of Season video? We are keen to improve, and it’s only the fans that can help us do that!
To contribute e-mail Blue Kipper (03/06/03)
