It was nice to welcome Tim Howard back after the World Cup. In front of him was Seamus on the right and Bainsey on the left with Hibbo and Distin in the middle. It's strange to see Hibbo there, but he did play there in Europe last year.
In the middle of the park was Mikky and Pip with Peanuts and Maggie out wide . Upfront Tim supported Becks.
A strong bench included Joey, Billy, Jack and King Louis.
Nice early stuff from Everton with Peanuts and Bainsey prominent. I hope Steven stays, I know Bainsey loves playing with him down that left hand side.
The Toffeemen went 1 up after only 10 minutes when Tim scored with a shot from just outside the box, but it owed a lot to a terrible blunder from our old boy John Ruddy. It was Seamus who burst infield from the right and hit Tim with a lovely ball. He turned instantly and hit a tame shot towards goal. The ball squirmed through Ruddy's legs and over the line
The game went through a quiet patch were not a lot went on but we were always comfy on the ball. It's great that everyone wants the ball
Tim got our and his second with second. It was brought about with great chasing down from Becks. He put a canary under the cosh and fed Tim, who moved it to Mikel, who then chipped a lovely ball in the box. It broke to Tim who shot but was well saved by Ruddy but the rebound fell lovely for Tim to head into the empty net.
Half time Norwich 0 Everton 2.
Billy came on for Maggie and Joey came on for Seamus with Hibbo going to right back
Norwich got a goal back within 2 minutes of the restart. Itwas cross from the left hand side that was headed in by Crofts
That gave Norwich plenty of hope and they started to Everton under pressure for a period of time and within 15 minutes Norwich were level. It was from a throw in again from the left hand side and some bloke in yellow strolled through and put the ball easily passed Tim Howard
Two minutes late Billy scored an absolute beauty. Great play from Mikky and Peanuts on the edge of the box ended with Billy being teed by Steven. Billy hit an unstoppable right footer in the top right hand corner
Ten minutes later Tim got his first hat trick in an Everton shirt. A cross from the Peanuts was brought down on his chest by Tim who then cheekily tricked John Ruddy and smashed the ball into the empty net. Top goal from a top man
There were run outs for King Louis, Jack, Vaughney and James Wallace.
Everton run out comfortable winners in the end but I think Moyesy will unhappy about the goals we conceded.
