The Blues rounded off their pre season campaign with their first defeat of it here in Germany.
Steve McClaren's Wolfsburg scored two first half goals to condemn the Blues to their first defeat this summer. The day however will only be remembered for Mikky Arteta pre kick off tying himself to the Blues for the rest of his career.
Moyesy used 19 players giving all of his squad a run out before the real action kicks off next week against Blackburn.
So then this defeat apart the optimism levels are high with all Blues believing that this season could be the time that silverware eventually lands back at Goodison for the first time since 1995.
