Fitness Doubt

Over the last few seasons Everton manager David Moyes has introduced a few fringe players for the Carling Cup games.

After the 1-0 defeat against QPR on Saturday Moyesy may start Fellaini, Saha and Arteta, who only started on the bench in the first game of the season.

Seamus Coleman is still absent through injury and Maggie Gueye is out with a broken toe. Plus Billy is still suspended.

There will be late checks on Tim Cahill who is Pat and Mick, Becks has a bruised knee.

Moyesy said: “We have got a few doubts. We have a doubt about Jermaine, he has a knock on his knee. Tim Cahill is feeling a bit sick and we are not quite sure where Louis is just yet in his general fitness.

“Obviously we are missing Seamus still, Bilyaletdinov is still suspended and Magaye Gueye has a broken toe so, yes, we are missing a few, but hopefully we will be okay.”

Phil Neville is hoping the carling Cup is a big hope for silverware this season

Phil Neville says: "Sometimes not everything runs smoothly and sometimes you'd say from the outside looking in that we're having a bit of a dip. But we're confident we can live up to our high standards.

"Probably our best chance of winning silverware this season is the Carling Cup. Our mentality is that we have to go out to win it."

Does anybody know if moyes ever reads this site? Think he's the only one that thinks it's a good idea to play with one striker at home. Not to mention taking him off for a midfielder. Think people need to get off beckfords back the last 2 comments are right. LISTEN TO THE FANS MOYSIE an give him a strike partner!!

Come on Davey Get rid of this crap 4-5-1 We will win few games with this formation i have supported Everton since1948 And have watched all the greats at Goodison. And we need to attack. Give the players a chance.

Yet again somrone criticising beckford, what's the lad suppose to do isolated up front on his own ? i don't recall the team creating one chance for him on Saturday again. He didn't cost 30 odd million so stop expecting him to play like it . Only top strikers will create goals out of nothing in this league and yet thats seems to be what people expect .Given Moyes' negative tactics and a distinct lack of creativity.

ronnie lad. give becks a chance. how many players do you know that have jumped up 2 leagues to the prem and scored 10 goals in there first season. he just needs playing time and with that time will come confidence...and goals!!

Hopefully its an excuse because Beckford is being sold. He's shit and not good enough. Simple as that.

Davey. Why not try a 1-5-5 formation like on Saturday? That seemed to go down well.

Moyesy Take the shackles of the boys and let them go for it. 4-5-1, (4-6-0 for a while at 1 nil down), at home to QPR is just not good enough.

Oh for heavens sake - not ready to play against new boys thrashed by Notlob the week before, with a virus running through their squad! I would say most of at GP spotted the lack of ability as soon as the team was announced. The fact we don't have money for new players makes even more crucial to make the most of those we do have. The board and chairman maybe crap but I don't think that excuses the team selection, tactics, timings and use of substitutions. Moyes is another reason to be fearful.
