It's difficult to know where to start.

The reality is we have allowed the worst redshite team in forty years beat us.

We got off to a strong start and we had the better of the first half. We got the goal our play deserved. It was a clearance by some dick head that was charged down by Tim Cahill. The ball broke to Nikita Jelavic and as you expect he puts the ball into the sack. He is a cool customer that will get us plenty of goals.

The rest of the half was pretty comfy but we didn't create many chances to get that second goal. But in saying that the opposition were poor and they never created anything worthy of note.

The second half was a different story. The Everton team that ended the first half didn't start the second. We looked a completely different team.

For whatever reason we stopped playing. We didn't keep possession of the ball and we allowed the opposition to get control of the game. The decisive moment came when Sylvain Distin attempted a back pass on the half line. He got completely wrong and it allowed the shite 7 to beat Tim Howard.

I thought at that time that it was game over and you could see that with quite a few players. It seems that we were going for a one nil victory. We were so negative. Not once did we trouble their third choice goalie.

They got the winner with a couple of minutes to go. Absolutely gutted.

Like many Evertonians there is a sense of bewilderment. Why can't we beat them? They were there for the taking. The second half performance was not good enough and in the end we didn't deserve anything from the game.

We will never get a better opportunity to beat a very poor side. It will take us some time to get over this, but we are Evertonians. It's what we do.

So...now I've got over it and can speak again... as we're streaming out of Wembley in stunned silence and jumping into our motors towards the M1, through what looked like downtown Somalia..... (The M1 by the way was only 4 miles away and took 1hr and 45 faaackin mins!?!?... ferfuxsake!!...) So I'm thinking my day couldn't get any worse, and I finally get onto the North Circular road just short of the M1, with all the other coaches full of dejected Blues... when who should come mooching down the road large as life in his poncy quilted Barbour jacket with a load of bags like he's been shopping??... Our best mate....Robbie fcukin Fowler!!... groooan..... I nearly spewed up and ran'im over !! Ps. Note; On the way down and back up the M1, the overwhelming vast majority of supporters travelling were Evertonians...where were all the Red-Shite???... the service stations with heaving with Blues.... with a couple odd shite here and there. Living proof that all shite fans are from Norway, East Anglia and Cornwall !!

The difference is, PJ of Warrington, Dalglish has had £120M to spend and has a Carling Cup to show for it. Whilst I can see where you're coming from, comparing Moyes' job to Dalglish's is like comparing an apple to a pear. My biggest problem was that Everton Football Club as a whole, submitted to defeat as soon as the equaliser went in. The players totally lost all confidence, the fans - everyone. The West stand was three quarters empty with four minutes of added time left. God knows what would have happened if we'd equalised. Everybody just seemed to accept that once they'd got level they'd go on and win it.

I like every other blue am hurting at the moment. God i love my club but they do really piss me off at times !!! It pains me to say it but as much as i hate the shite with a passion they have a knack of getting results in the big games whilst we seem to freeze. If we are happy to finish in the top 8 every season without spending a penny and reaching the odd semi or even final then when we do get the chance why dont we have a fucking go ??? If it isnt to be then at least lets go out in a blaze of glory !!! Sorry to sound negative lads & i will be at Old Trafford on Sunday singing my heart out but after leaving home at 3.30am and spending a small fortune to support my beloved Everton at Wembley i really was hoping that we would have a right go at the worst Liverpool team that i have seen in my lifetime.

Let's just be honest about it... we were crap. Other than the Jelavic goal (which was a lucky break), i don't recall Jones having anything to do of note throughout the match. This is the poorest i can remember Liverpool being in years and yet we failed miserably to muster any decent chances on goal. We bottled it again and Moyes has to go.

Paul J, well said mate! That was completely unacceptable and we should've done so much better than we did. If we can't find that winning edge and mentality and the hunger to win, then how can we ever expect to get to Wembley and win a cup final? We can't mess up like that if we are ever to win a trophy again!

Fordy (30) . You are dead right mate. We are totally wrapped up in them. I am 40, so similar experiences to you. We never used to be this obsessed and it has become unhealthy. This site should even lose the turd when doing match reports - its childish and the fun has long since worn out. I think it's the younger generation who have created this situation. We have just lost the most important derby game for years and yet when you read this thread, it is nearly all about how bad THEY are !!! I don't get it. We need to look at ourselves and forget whether they are good, bad or indifferent ! Its the quality of OUR side that should be up for discussion on here. If you want to talk about them, f**k off to one of thier sites ! As for getting shut of Moyes, do yourselves a favour. He is the best thing to happen to this club in years and our most valuable asset. As Fordy says, "be careful what you wish for". We could get rid and end up with another Mike Walker .....Do you youngsters remember him ?

Paul J. I think you may have been smelling something a bit stronger than coffee. If Dalglish goes it's because he has spent an absolute fortune to challenge for the title and hasn't come close. Moyes didn't sell Piennar. He was offered the same wage as what he accepted at Spurs. Piennar felt it was time to move to a club that have greater spending power than Everton and will be playing more regular European football so solely his decision and Moyes could not stand in his way. Like someone mentioned ealier I would hate to see where we would have ended up had he not come in. We may still have got to Wembley but it would be the Johnstone's paint trophy. Compare Everton to other clubs that will win nothing this year and have spent more than Everton. Arsenal haven't won a trophy for something like 7 years. Think a few need to grow up and remember where we were 10 years ago.

Our tactics on Saturday led to our own demise. We controlled the game, went one up and then sat back, until Distin’s gaff. We deserved to get beat. The second half was a complete shambles. There is an old saying, “fortune favours the brave” Well we were not brave. David Moyes is everything to us, but he keeps getting it wrong in the big games; in the games that mean something. We missed a great chance to beat the worst Liverpool team that I have ever seen and we will never get a better opportunity. I know Spurs were humiliated by Chelsea, but at least Spurs gave it a go, what did we do, apart from roll over and die!!! We might get Europe if Chelsea win the Champions league and we finish 7th, but what chance is that now!!!

Danny, "Pienaar is a must". Who do you think sold him to Spurs in the first place? Wake up and smell the coffee lad, with BK and dour Davie we are a laughing stock. I'm sick to the back teeth of our fans accepting this shite, Moyes has nobody to answer to and its time he did. Across the park, Dalglish will no doubt be sacked because he only brought in 2 trophies this season and there, in a nutshell is the difference between the sides - ambition.

Moyes out? Are you taking the fucking piss? Who else can do what he consistently does time and time again? Yes we played poorly, but before yesterday 2 defeats in 16 or something? We just beat Sunderland 4-0 and we were playing great football. I can't believe how pathetic some of our fans are, one defeat and you question where we are going with Moyes. Well without him we wouldn't have got to a F.A cup semi final or above Liverpool in 7th. Get a grip.

So it's now lets all jump on the Moysie out bandwagon is it. I bet half of you lot were singing 'we're on the march with Moysie's army' songs over the last few games. Yes...we're all completly gutted but lets look at the bigger picture and where we were before he came along and fighting off relegation. I dread to think where we'd be now without him. Look at are financial posistion and are net spend every year on players. We've got no wright to be getting to cup semi finals and finals and finsihing year after year in the top half of the table. It's because of him and the quality of the squad he has built that we get are hopes up and know that we are so close to doing something special...and it will come. I just hope that he doesn't get to read comments like the one's on this page otherwise who could blame him if he does one off to Tottenham. P.s as for Drenthe...yes he should of been are possible match winner yesteday and the match was crying out for him to come on. But he's got a serious attitude problem so get him out the club and send him over to the red shite because we don't need it. COYB!!!!

In my mums and my uncle comes in talking about the game,my mum overhears and says "Hang on, if your winning why would you sit back instead of trying to score more, that doesnt make sense." If someone who knows nothing about sport can see that why can't Moyes.

Dear all Made the effort went down with out a ticket could not get one, cos would not pay 150-200£ + watched the game in some so called hotel bar 4.50 apint 3.50 a half its near enough impossible to serve ale that flat but they managed, must be the training then the match 1-0 up there for the taking what happens nothing, even the reds who spent 90% of the game outside could not believe there luck 1-1 they all come back in like most reds from out of the woodwork then fuck off 2-1 whats going on you have to go at teams, watched chelsea today thats the way to do it, still like to stick with moyes but if you cant raise the team for games like this what hope for the future

All these calling for Moyes head need to have a closer look. For starters who do we bring in? Secondly Harry Redknapp has only won the F.A cup and League cup once in 28 years and this is the man majority of people want for the England job. Moyes has and is doing a remarkable job he just needs the backing of the board. We desperatley missed two quality wide players yesterday. Gueye was like a rabit in headlights (admittedly not the only one) and Osman was just awful. Would love to sign Landon permanent and Piennar is a must. Three Wembley appereances in three years is deifnately a step in the right direction. As I'm typing looks like Tottenham will have another season without silverwhere along with the likes Newcastle, Man City and Villa. Anyway still had a great afternoon at Watford and fell asleep on the train.

I'm afraid we are too w rapped up with Liverpool FC. Im 47 and I know the pain all the way back to them winning everything, every season but I do think we make too much of them. We played that badly because it was them. If we played either of the Cockney teams we might still have lost but you would think we would have had a right old pop at them. Instead we wilted because it was them. Get over them, they dont matter, stop singing stupid songs about their captain and stop calling them shite and then perhaps expectations will become sensible and we will play against them instead of cacking our pants twice a season, every season. ps Moyes Out? Be careful what you wish for.

Sorry moyes is to negative at 1-0 up we should have battered them could you see Ferguson sittin back on a 1-0 lead no chance. They were laughing at us we played into there hands they are shit and made us look a joke how that cheating bastard Suarez gets away with it every week is beyond me. I've come to the conclusion I will never see us beat them in a semi or a final but one thing I'm glad I ain't one of them. Talking to one of there fans in the bog at the bookies from fuckin Lithuania. What's all that about?

If we had been outplayed and outfought I could accept defeat in any match but yesterday we gave up in the second half. All the things we done in the first half stopped and it is gutting that we gifted them two goals from a mistake and a set piece. Had we got to the final I would have had no fear in facing in Spurs or Chelsea and, to be honest, I would have fancied us to beat them. What is really gutting is that we have a fear of beating Liverpool and I don't understand why because I think we are better than them man for man, there is not one of their players I would have at Everton instead of one of ours.

James (8) You sound just like Moyes, yes they did score a spawny equaliser but you fail to mention our goal was spawny as well. You mention wins against Chelsea and City, yes good wins but earned with graft, not craft and both of them were in their worst form of the season.I cant speak for everyone but what I want from an Everton manager is someone who tries to win games with a bit of guts AND flair,on the whole Moyes has failed miserably to deliver entertainment at Goodison in recent years.

24 hours on and I'm still no nearer working out how we managed to lose to the worst shite team in memory. The few times we did press them their defence was all over the place and the goalkeeper was nowhere on corners etc. But we never had any sustained pressure and never tested him at all. I can't remember a single occasion when we got behind their defence and put a cross in; not once. It was all hopeful long balls that were easily cleared Two debacles in a month against the shite. I think the least we deserve is some answers from DM on team selection, the bench and his poor use of substitutes but I suspect all we'll get is, "I hoped we might nick one." It'll be the same against Man U.

Awful March 14th was a dark day but to go to wembley in front of those wonderful fans and just roll over was nothing short of criminal. Yes you could argue their 2 goals were individual errors but be fair they had other chances that donkey carroll should have had 3 at least. As Roy in a earlier post said they had their 3rd choice keeper in and he never had a save to make not one. We didnt even test him. What this manager sees in the likes of Gueye and Coleman defies belief it really does. We've now got an ice cool finisher in Jelavic and yet the service into him is fucking atrocious he was so isolated yesterday. He may as well been standing outside the stadium. Moyes has got a mental block with them now its becoming embarrasing tactically hes brain dead while hes Everton manager we will never win nothing even average sides in the past have won a cup. We wont not under him surely theres a manager out there whos more attack minded and doesnt worry about the opposition like he does his record in derbies is shocking trying to hang on to a 1 0 lead for 45 mins is just not on lets face it cardiff run them a lot closer than we did. Maybe knee jerk but its time to go now Moyes and take Neville, Cahill, Osman, Gueye and Coleman with you

Can't speak for any of the other posters, but I grew up in Liverpool, was a season ticket holder and moved south for work. Not sure how that makes Everton any more or less 'the people's club' than Moyes said it is... Honestly, yesterday was awful. We seem scared of the shite and I can't understand it. But it's not down to Moyes, at least not alone. It's down to how we play them. It's very upsetting that even when they're shite we can't beat them, but then again we've beaten them when we've been the worse side. We need to learn from this, but we're better than we were before Moyes and actually, we're pretty good despite having spent far less money than the clubs around us, the clubs who we are competing with. It's worth remembering. I want us to be the best side in the world and if I thought we were going backwards I'd be calling for change. But we're not. It's a long way for us to go, but we are getting better each season. We're rightly pissed off that we lost an FA Cup semi-final. I'm not sure we've been in that position since Harvey was boss, at the latest...
Rory, Brighton, 3:12 PM 15/04/2012

Totally gutted about yesterday. But fair play to Liverpool they dominated the second half, with Carrol, Bellamy, Suarez and Gerrard they just had more players on the pitch who could make things happen and that's what got them through. Can't understand why Drenthe wasn't even on the bench, he's exactly like the aforementioned Liverpool players who can make things happen and change a tight game. Yesterday we had Osman, Gueye and Coleman on the flanks at different times and I think you need more pace, ability and flair at the top level to succeed. I know Distin dropped a clanger and if he hadn't it might of been a different story, but fair play he's been solid all season.

A decent start to the game, but after the goal we played for the 1-0 and got punished. Poor mistakes in the end cost us but the signs were there for all too see after 2 mins of the second half and we did very little to stem the tide. It's very hard to see where we go from here, our best chance in years and we blew it.

I am totally gutted that we again didn't take our opportunity to beat the redshite as yesterday's match was there for the taking. They had a third choice keeper in and we never even tested him with a shot. Jelavic and Heitinga were the only two players that permormed for us. Moyes is deluding himself - sure carrol could have had a hatrick in the second half alone. We are just too negative and I hope Moyes moves to Spurs so we can get a manager who plays decent football instead of this defensive crap. We need to get rid of alot of poor players like Neville, Distin and Cahill who are well past their sell by date. Disgusted with the teams performance and we got what we desrved in the end.

Extremely gutted. We didnt perform and several players were below par or overawed by the occasion. We didnt test their keeper, Ossie playing wide does not work especially against pace. Moyes was slow to change the situtaion and we should have had a second striker or wide option on much earlier. Time to move on - thanks timmy, ossie, nev, to name but 3. Great servants but legs are not there anymore esp for the really big games. Ossie's shooting was a disgrace for a pro. Agree with an earlier comment Moyes always talking about 'nicking' a goal. Negative talk breeds negative players. Overall the team lacks pace and speed of thought. Also time for some of our so called bigger players to turn up in the big games and dominate eg. Fellaini. Sorry for the rant but needed it!

It just hurts so much this time. They are not a good team. They were there for the taking. Their defence is awful and they had an untried keeper. The worst Liverpool team I've ever seen. Yet we didn't turn up. We sat back and played the long ball. We have been playing some lovely football over the last few weeks, yet we go to pieces whenver we play them. No blame, no recriminations. It just hurts so much.

Like Emma-Blackpool, I am beginning to ask where we are going with Moyes. Sometimes his team selection and tactics are crap to say the least, and he doesn't see it for himself. It would have been better to go at them with 4-4-2 second half, as we have the players to match them. Very dissappointed again against the shite!
Mal, St.Helens, 2:28 PM 15/04/2012

Feel so let down by the players and manager. They are better than that and they did not show it on the big occasion. The fans were absolutely magnificent yesterday and sung them down from before kick off until they scored. They had all been running scared even leading up to the game. We should have took that opportunity.

We were muck, we scored a goal from a botched clearance and did nothing else in the first half, in the second half we tried to hang on for dear life, and we failed, miserably. They are better than us, and bigger than us, we can cling to the 'people's club' mantra that David trotted out and we lapped it up, the truth is a million miles from that, and deep deep down we all know it. Just look at the locations above, Norfolk, Dublin, Brighton and Bar-fuckin-bados. This is a bad day to be a blue, I can't remember the last good day to be a blue.

To put some perspective on this, their 2 forwards cost more than our team. Yet they won because we made 2 defensive mistakes. They were better in the 2nd half and we didn't hold the ball but would they have scored without Sylvain's error (not blaming him it could happen to anyone and he's been great for us)? Give Moyes their money and we'd win every time. Having said that I wouldn't support those cheats under any circumstances! what was the cheating diving number 7 doing to Jonny in the first half?

Mark, not to pick on you mate - and I feel just as angry about this - but in fairness, Gueye had a very decent first half and was just one of 11 players who didn't turn up for the second half. I agree about Drenthe, though I'd ask why he didn't replace Gueye rather than Coleman doing so? In fairness to Moyes, he's taken us to more of the 'big' games than anyone since Kendall mark one, and we've won a few of them. We do have to do something about the redsh*te, though. While we're here can anyone tell me how Suarez was even on the pitch to score their first, having rugby-tackled Heitinga under the referee's nose? And, for that matter, how Carragher's bear hug on Cahill was allowed, which started the 'move' which led to that goal? No mistakes, like, we weren't good enough. But we weren't the only ones. Do the sh*te get away with this sort of sh*t every game, or just against us?

I like all other Evertonians am gutted. Second half total negative play. Was that Moyes's plan? I am beginning to think that maybe the best thing will be for him to go to spurs at the end of the season. We have a team that can really play good football but Moyes is always going for the negative. Drenthe? Where was he? I know he has the Balotelli about him but he would have been a nightmare for the shite. We don't even get an explanation to why he was not even on the subs bench. We need a manager who is committed to attacking, positive football if we are to progress. Lambert, Rodgers or Holloway would all have beaten that shite yesterday. Moyes just doesn't cut is for me now and I never thought I would hear myself say that. In Moyes I no longer trust.

gueye drenthe doesnt matter when you gift goals away. probably would of walked that 1-0. I think we played that like any other league game and didnt take it as a cup match like the Sunderland game.Stupid free kick to give away for their goal at the end. 2 schoolboy errors gifted them a game they wouldnt of won. where was the captain ?

would like to see us start planning for next season. Much as it pains me Cahill,s time is up, let us see how young Barkley performs in this role if we continue with the 4 5 1 formation.Really need to find the funds to re sign Stevie P We are not far away from a really good team, a wide right player is really needed, see the difference Donavan makes.Big problem is funding our most saleable assett is Baines!

Back on the Moyes bandwagon are we. Yes it was Moyes fault Distin played a short backpass. It was Moyes fault Coleman made the rash tackle to give away the free kick. I thought Everton and Moyes set up superbly and we were comfortable until they got the spawny equaliser. We've just got to a cup semi final again. Presumably you didn't think Sunderland away in the quarters was a big game then. How about Man City, Chelsea at home in the league amongst many others this season. and Gueye instead of Drenthe, really? FYI (I don't know if it has been published anywhere yet I've tried to avoid everything about the game) Drenthe turned up for late training on Thurs then had a moan and stormed out. I found that out on the train on the way back.Even if he was available I would still have chosen Gueye. It might have been a mistake with hindsight but after the Sunderland games I think it was the most sensible option. Top 7 finish hopefully again, consistent performers in the league, cup semi final. I don't know what some people want. Whatever it is, there would be far less chance of us doing it without Moyes.

This game was crying out for Royston for a bit of pace, creativity etc. but as usual Moyes went for a defensive/negative bench. Didn't surprise me to be honest when we went 1 up that we would sit back and invite an average team onto us. Anyhow, i didn't let it spoil my Sat because if a manager who fears winning a game and is as constantly negative as our Davey has the backing of a blind chairman and will still pick up his £100k cheque next Thursday, why should i waste a day of my life being angry. It's the fans that my heart goes out to not di*khead Moyes who hasn't won at Arsenal, L'pool, Utd or Chelski in his 10 year reign....and as for winning a trophy...ur 'avin a laugh Davey!!

...and there goes another chance to beat the worse redshite side in 30 years. Those fuckers will get stronger, get even more money, and we will remain under the dreadful stewardship of a simply incompetent and directionless board of directors. The quality payers like Jelavic will only tolerate our mediocrity for so long. We know those horrible bastards will end up above us in the league, the years of living under a shithouse red shadow are here for the foreseeable future.

When will Moyes learn that his attitude of trying to nick a goal then sit back and defend for the rest of the game simply doesn't work! Second half was awful, and first wasn't much better. Liverpool are a poor team at the moment and we still can't beat them. We handed them the game and the psychological edge. All we had to do was put in a half decent performance. So much for 'doing it for the supporters'!

Very disappointing performance. We conceded midfield to Liverpool. Gibbo played too deep and ended up chasing shadows. What happened to composed build up.For most of the second half it was kick and rush. This happens too often in Derby games. Very disappointing

Need to sign up drenthe and nuts on permanent deals in the summer - we look a totally different team when they play - coleman and gueye have no where near the creative ability of those 2. On another point with the shite already winning the carling cup and looks like chelsea/spurs will be qualifing for europe will we get europa league if we finish 7th? Heres hoping

After all the promise of recent form, feel like Everton gave Liverpool way too much respect. Just never seemed to get going in my opinion, can't think of a spell in the game where we dominated, we didn't even test the muppet in goal. Missed Pienaar, could have done with Drenthe's pace as an outlet despite his obvious fragilities tracking back. Gutted. Move on. Regroup and let's make sure we finish 7th.

The proverbial game of 2 halves. I just wish we'd bother to turn up for the second one. Gueye instead of Drenthe, really? If we can't beat a poor shite now, when will we? As much as I love Moyes, if just doesn't have it when it comes to the big games. Hope spuds or chavski batter the red virus.
