What A Goal
What A Goal

It was great getting back to Goodison after a couple of months rest. All Evertonians were raring to go and the atmosphere was electric. Blue, blue, electric blue. As I got to my seat to my seat the crowd were introduced to Kevin Mirallas . Welcome to heaven Kevin.

Jags and Sylvain got the nod in the middle of the back four. Hibbo and Bainsey were the full backs. In the middle of the park Moyesy went with Gibbo and Phil with Ossie and Peanuts on the flanks. And up front Felli and Jela.

Everton were on the front foot from the start. We were up for it big time. In saying that United were putting about also

It was Felli who had our first effort and he done brilliantly to create the chance himself. It was from a Bainsey throw in that he beat Valencia and Carrick down the left hand side. He burst into the box but the angle got acute but he still managed to hit the post.

Everton were playing some great stuff. Great passing play involving Jela and Ossie ended with Peanuts having a goal bound shot saved by the very strange looking De Gea.

Everton were on top creating good chances and it was Felli at the heart of most things. He was causing mayhem for the United defence.

United first effort on goal was a free kick from a lad who used to play for us, but Tim Howard was up to the task.

Peanuts had a header tipped over the bar from the corner by De Gea. It really was impressive stuff from the Blues. And you have to say it was De Gea that was keeping United in the game.

Felli created another chance, this time for Ossie. The big man headed the ball into Ossie who turned and hit a volley on its way but peacock head saved again.

The last effort of the half was a brilliantly taken free kick by Bainsey but once again his goal bound effort was saved by the ugly one.

It was a great first 45 from the blues, the only thing missing was an Everton goal

Half Time Everton 0 Utd 0

Everton started the second half the way they finished the first, on top. It was again Felli who was causing the problems. He headed down for Ossie to lash a volley against the bar with De Gea beaten. It wasn't going to be one of those nights was it?

No it wasn't. Ten minutes later we got the goal we deserved. And who else was going to get it but Marouane  Fellaini. It was a great Gibbo corner that was flung over and a towering Felli header ended up into the bottom of the net.

Oh my days the Old Lady erupted. The goal was everything we needed and deserved.

United came at us for the first time in the game. The last 20 minutes were hard to watch at times, but it was a night for heros and Everton had them all over the park. Jags and Sylvain died for the cause.

There was a heart in the mouth job when somehow Jags blocked an effort off the goal line. Well done Jags. We were under the cosh when Seamus Coleman came on for the tiring Leon Osman after 80 mintes and then Jela who had run himself into the ground came off for Nace making his Premiership debut

Felli came off also to run the clock down. Johnny replaced him. Everton managed to see it out to complete a superb victory against the multi millions of United.

Felli was incredible from start to finish. He was just unbelievable. Without doubt his best performance in an Everton shirt. He was the stand out performance but There m

I'm trying not to get too excited about this performance from Everton but I just can't help it. We gonna win the League and now you're gonna believe us.

After letting it sink in a for a few days, I can honestly say, with my blue tinted glasses cast aside, that it was probably the most accomplished performance from an Everton side I have ever seen. Ferguson will say what he will, he is so used to winning, that he is a sore loser. But show me a good loser and I will show you a loser. So I wouldn't read too much into those comments. Fellaini was awesome, Gibson and Neville solid. Jelavic put a proper shift in up front and caused problems all game. Osman ran himself into the ground, and Pienaar was slick as ever. Hibbert showed why Moyes has trusted him unwaveringly for 10 years, while Baine offered threat going forward and reliability at the back. Jagielka and Distin justified Moyes leaving Heitinga on the bench, which is some achievement after Heitinga's form last season. And Howard, when called upon, was alert and decisive. Never have I seen us control United like that while they were in possession. We looked threatening every time we had the ball, and it could have been three or four had it not been for De Gea's heroics. He has seriously proven his doubters wrong since his calamitous start to his Old Trafford career. I expect us to get something from Villa this weekend, as I have not been convinced by any of their managerial appointments since O'Neill. Houllier? Really??? McLeish? Got relegated and then landed one of the top ten jobs in the country? Lambert? Like Brendan Rodgers, it's hard to dislike him. But after one season in the top flight, I'm not quite convinced. I know Moyes had no real pedigree at the top when he came to us, but I think Kenwright might have a little more knowledge of our native leagues than Lerner or Henry. And their clubs are in far better health than when Moyes arrived at Goodison, meaning that they probably had more options available than we did in 2002. Anyway, it was a great way to kick the new season off and compared to August last year, I feel a lot more positive about our prospects of a 6th, 5th, or.......dare I say it?? 4th placed finish.. I don't think Spurs or Arsenal are all that much different to us in terms of one to eleven ability. Do you??

I read articles on the Phil McNulty column and some on here, and have those people who comment "united didn't play very well" ever think that Everton didn't let them and played far superior to them? All our guys played brilliantly, and I for one was extremely impressed the way Jags and Distin marshalled Rooney and the other attackers. Felli has found his role just behind Jele - well done to the boys please have the same determination on the weekend lads. Thanks

Dame Whisky Nose already went into Panto Mode and it wasn't even crimbo! Got to ask though, if Everton supposedly used the same rout time and time again, how come all the TV pundits and neutrals alike said we were by far the better team! (despite ManU getting their cheque book out for the ref)? There should have been a few ManU player sent off and a penalty at the start of the game! And BTW ManU didn't Park the Van! Our back four clamped it!

I made sure that game was on live and loud when the Ozzie miners came into the dining hall for their breakfast! Think we may have a new support base here down under now. Plus bragging rights over the local Indonesian Reds working here too! Great performance - the league is ours!! And his nose is turning blue...

If that performance sets the benchmark for the rest of the season, we are going places, maybe top 4 or 5. Screech was out of this world and his performance spurred the team on! With a few more signings, maybe Owen, Tom Ince, Adam, Jarvis and another centre half for cover. COYB.

The difference it makes having a bit of positivity round the club at the start of the season, rather than the blue union having their way!

Perfect start! Stuff that lot. Whisky-face quoted saying, 'they just lumped it up to the big lad, that's all they did...' and on their bus going back, 'Remember this feeling, cos it'll happen next time you come here...' got my ticket for Villa -come on Kevin lad!

I can't believe how poor Mancs were. Great start to the season. For 60 odd minutes it was like Everton vs DeGea. Just hoping that lads didn't used all the steam for the season because effort was tremendous. Last thing we need is great win against manure and then get stuffed by underachieving Villa (good game ahead). We witnessed that all too often. Onwards and upwards.

Superb team performance with Felliani mom. Fucking sick of that patronising twat Ferguson "They just lumped it forward" Fucking gobshite i dont remember Howard having a shot to save, he would have praised us had they won. Bar, post and Degea making all kinds of saves and not one of them chances come from a long ball, not are fault there daft enough to have Carrick picking Felliani up on corners and we wont be the last to play on Carrick if he's playing centreback. Look like dementa setting in on arl whiskey nose.

Sir whiskey nose quote: And Ferguson admitted his side failed to cope with Toffees forward Fellaini, adding: "Fellaini is a handful: he is a big, tall, gangly lad and they just lumped the ball forward to him, that's all they did. such a bad loser

After IDK how many years, Everton's School of Science finally reopens its doors to school the rest of the premiership what Nil Satis Nisi Optimum actually means (shit did I spell th@ right?)! And we didn't even get use the "Marvellous Mirallas"! I think the Villains have their homework cut out for them next Saturday! Sadly for SWN, there wasn't enough crayon in the world to draw him out an escape rout in tonight's Malling of United! We schooled them on how to attack and how to defend! But when they couldn't catch up, we spanked them like a naughty little school girls! As Luck would have it for them, the Ref's check had cleared before the 1st half, Jelly was clearly man handled to the ground in the box! I wonder if Match of the day mentions it! Got to hand it to... Buzz n Jags for giving everything in the tank and Screech for turning ManUshited Midfielders into complete and utter erm... shite! Nice goal too Felli! But let's not forget Nuts n Oz making SWN shit his pants on umpteen occasions! I was a bit disappointed in Hibbo though! Apart from his world class clinical incision that made even the ManU lot drool, I expected @ least a goal from him xD

Nice to get a win and a decent start for a change. Even when we sat back after felli scored i can't remember united really causing trouble bar the chance off the line. Place went mental when the goal went in, loved it. Really looking forward to the season ahead
