Great news when I heard the side. What a positive starting eleven. The fella to miss out was Steven Naismith. Super Kev went on the right with Phil and Ossie in the middle and as usual Peanuts on the left. This allowed Felli to support Jela

With Phil Neville operating in the middle of the park, this allowed Tony Hibbert to get a start at right back.

The bench again was so strong again with six full internationals.

The club paid tribute for the 96 with a rendition of He Ain't Heavy He's My Brother with clapping throughout. There wasn't a dry tear in the house.

Everton came flying out of the traps and scored an offside goal within two minutes. It was Kev who fed Felli just by the pen spot. Harper made a decent save but he only push the ball out to Jela who was following up to put the ball in the sack. Unfortunately he wasa fraction offside.

We were causing mayhem especially down the left hand side. Bainsey and Peanuts were on fire. And after 15 minutes we were ahead.

Bainsey goes for a one two with Peanuts. Steven doesn't disappoint with a delicate back heel into his path. He bursts into the box and blasts a whopper past Harper. What a brilliant goal

But it wasn't just the two on the left that causing all the trouble. Super Kevin Mirallas  had a couple of great efforts from outside the box. He does like a shot does Super.

Everton were playing some really great stuff and even Jags got in on the act. He hit an absolute screamer that clipped the outside of the post.

Peanuts had a great chance just before the half. He wriggles past a few defenders as he got into the box. He should have passed to Leon but went for a curler that went beyond the post.

Jela had to come off just before the half being replaced by big Vic.

Everton were superb in the first 45 and had only one scare when Bainsey cleared off the line.

Half Time Everton 1 Newcastle 0

The talk at half time was the performance deserved more goals. And wouldn't you just know it Newcastle scored in the first few minutes of the half. Ossie lost it in the middle of the park and Cabaye fed Ba who easily beat Tim.

It was a serious kick in the goolies. To be fair Newcastle started this half far better. It was more of an even game that was for sure.

Felli thought he got us back into the game when we scored another offside goal. This looked a lot close than the first. It was Peanuts who set him up and Felli stroked home with his left foot only for the fat linesman to raise his stupid flag.

Ossie had decent chance but placed his shot wide and then with fifteen minutes left we scored yet again but once again it wasn't given.

It was a game of head tennis that saw Sylvain headed towards Jags. Jags headed across the goal for Victor to head towards goal. Harper made an instinctive save, the ball hit the bar and bounced over the line. The fat linesman kept his flag down.

With three minutes to go Victor gets his goal. Peanuts played it into him inside the box with Taylor right up his arse. He turned him and smashed a left footer onto the net. The place exploded.

We were still celebrating when Ba got his second with one minute on the clock. A long ball pumped up front was won by Ameobi and Ba got free to score.

It was hard to take, but we are going to have to. I'm not a happy bunny.

The first half we were magnificent and we had some lads on top of their game. The Blue Kipper Star Man was Leighton Baines, he was superb.

Victor is crap end of story. He's no bottle, no desire, no commitment,no passion and he goes down feigning injury. So god help us if any blues out there think he's good enough.

Sorry but 'great news when I heard the teams'?? Neville at centre mid is a step backwards if ever there was one!! I actually thought that was completely the opposite of a positive line up! Drop the big fella back into midfield and start with Naismith and super Kev, now that's positive! I applaud everything Neville has done for the blues from a professional perspective but he's rubbish at centre mid for me, doesnt create or dominate and dives in stupidly! I would have subbed him at half time! Moyes needs to have word with defence as they cost us the game as much as ref! Never handled long ball all second half and jags never even jumped for the header for their second goal!!!

I feel gutted by the calls but we can't forget the failure to convert several close chances and that we gave up the winner late. You can't blame the refs for that. Anybody who has a problem with Anichebe after this match and still calls themselves a blue has a lot of thinking to do. The guy continues to deliver in his role and is showing that he's more than many of our supporters give him credit for. COYB.

Great tribute to the 96 Everton fans were superb again. How bad was that ref I would go as far as to say he was a cheat the linesman was even worst he tried to give a clear foul by one off there players to them even the ref overturned that one any way enough about them cheats.Everton were the best team by a mile terrible defending and dodgy keeping was at fault we need to get another keeper to put a bit of pressure on Howard

After an encouraging first 45 minutes were we playing the high tempo game that saw off Newcastle last season,we decided to implode yet again. After the break our central defensive pairing decided to perfect mental telepathy by trying to out do each other in the dithering department, they seemed to go to pieces and this had a knock on effect on others, notably Neville and Osman who appeared to exhibit the drowsiness half a bottle of Night Nurse can create.Admittedly if it wasn't for exceptionally poor officiating by the officials, the three points would have been secured, but old bad habits die hard,we have to be ruthless, brutal and heartless in gaining those points, time and time again, year after year the fans are made to unnecessarily perspire from what should be a case of seeing the game out and having the feel good factor, but what we get is a self inflicted rug pulled from beneath us. On a positive note,Bainesy can he get any better, another full throttle showing,Pienaar his side kick, industrious and probing as ever, until he got a knock and eased up,Mirrales direct and bursting to net the spectacular(they'll come)and Hibbo sound and dependable as ever. So all in all a bit underwhelming, but we will have far worse days and leave with more than 1 point in the bag.

On any other night we would have finished that game winning 4-1. The referee needs to take a good long look at himself after his disgraceful decisions, but so does our central defence and central midfield. Surely this means John Heitinga comes back in centre defence?

Gut wrenching but what do you expect against 14 men the worst display by any officials I've ever seen and by god there's been some even harper stopped anichebe being booked by claiming he never touched him if that happens at ot he never refs again. Having said that the game should have been over by half time enough chances to win 2 games still hard to take though

In short. I'm sooo angry after yesterday. Before the game I was pretty certain we won't win this game - odds were stacked too much in our favour (home banker). But form of defeat (yes a draw) - all refs from this game deserve to be sacked outright. Shocking - doesn't even come close. Bloody travesty. They did everything possible, in the 2nd half, for Newcastle not to lose that game - I have nothing against Toons. In our frustration everything fell apart. After Newcastle scored and Felli disallowed goal. That was the turning point for me, back to the old Everton we witnessed far too many times over the years. Playing without idea, conceding like mad & for fun. So *** angry. Cheated big time.

Fuck me. Gutted. But let's get over it and look at the facts. We can bitch and moan all day about how we were robbed of two goals buy piss poor officials yet again - but the fact remains that we conceded, in my opinion, two very poor goals. Plain and simple. We should have won the game 2-0, never mind 4-2. Buy you know, balls to it, life is far too short. 7th in the league, 4 games played, 3 points off top. Onto Swansea, COYB.

Disallowed goals aside why do we always lose the plot when the opposition score?

Well we are going to play games we don't deserve to win, and we are going to play games we do - this was one of them. Honestly I think the refs and linesmen need to have their eyesight checked regularly. I suppose he would say as an excuse his view of the line was obstructed by a player, in that case have four linesmen one on the other side or have one constantly behind the goal, that way they should get it right surely!!??? But to get two decisions wrong by the linesman makes me think eye sight checks are a must. Or breathaliser before the game?
