A Blues second string that included Tony Hibbert and Phillipe Senderos still went down 2-0 away at Sunderland on Tuesday evening.
Both players came through ninety unscathed minutes, but were powerless to stop strikes from Micheal Liddle and a second from Oumare Tounkara at the world famous Eppleton Colliery Welfare ground, what, exactly.
The Blues did have their chances, most notably from Jake Bidwell, Shane Duffy and Hibbo (he scores we riot), but all in all it was not to be, and the Blues stay firmly rooted in the bottom half of the Reserve League with five games left to play.
