A young and inexperienced Blues reserve side lost 2-1 tonight to West Brom at Widnes Stobart Stadium.
With the likes of Maggie, Shane Duffy, and Ross Barkley all away on International duty, the Blues had to call on younger players from their ranks to make the numbers up.
Jose Baxter pulled the Blues level after West Brom's Romaine Sawyers gave the visitors the lead. It could have been much worse for the Blues but Keeper Iain Turner saved well from the penalty spot after he himself gave the penalty away.
Baxter struck four minutes into the second period when he converted a Nathan Craig cross to level the scores.
The Baggies whose side contained ex Internationals Dean Keily and Stephen Reid grabbed the winner through Elford-Aliyu with ten minutes left on the clock.
The Blues are five matches into this campaign with only one win to their name, three defeats and a draw.
Everton; Turner, Browning, Garbutt, Wallace, Nsiala, Bidwell, Forshaw, Akpan, Hope, Baxter, Craig
