Win at Villa

The Blues second string recorded only their third win of the season when they defeated Aston Villa last night in the Midlands.

Maggie Gueye snatched a last minute winner for the Blues and well deserved it was too, after he ran the show all night.

It was another of Moyesy new young guns who opened the scoring for the Blues when Apostolos Vellios or Velly to his mates notched the opener from close range after some good work out wide from Maggie again.

Villa did hit back but it was Maggie's last minute winner when he found himself one on one with Villa's keeper. He comfortably rounded him and slotted home from a tight angle, to give Stubbsey a much needed win, and Moyesy some food for thought in giving Maggie a run in the first team.

Blues: Roberts, Nsiala, Garbutt, Kinsella, Duffy, Mustafi, McAleny, Akpan, Vellios, Baxter, Gueye. Subs: Fitzgibbon, Craig (for Vellios, 85), Forrester, Forshaw (for McAleny, 67), Barrow.

This season when teams have come here they have played behind the ball and we have lacked the pace and guile to outwit them. I think Maggie is the kind of player who given the chance could link up well with Saha and Becks. He seems to have a bit of pace about him and other teams would not know about him, give him a go Moysey

The Reserve & Acadamy teams are even more important to us more than ever. We have some fantastic yougsters coming through and with the injury situation and the meagre amount of money we have I'm sure David Moyes will be promoting the likes of Gueye, Baxter, Vellios and Garbut to name but a few into the squad before long. COYB's

I'd have him in the team before Anichibe who can't score for love or money and Billy who is so one paced and out of his depth.

I've said awhile ago that this lad will be a big star for EFC. Why is he not in the 1st team now. He's far better than Billy

Every time I hear about Magaye and the few times I've seen him get a run out in the league cup or whatever he has seemed a spot on player. Young and fearless and always wanting the balls and to run at the backline, I think we should definitely be looking to get him into the first team soon. He was on the bench a lot earlier in the season but I havent seen him there the last few games, would be nice to see him back on the bench and maybe get a little 20 minute run out at some point. I reckon against Reading we could have done with him for the last 20, just to mix things up and try something different as what we were doing clearly wasn't working

Why does this guy not get a shot in the prem !!! He's better than Coleman , and probably Billy , who can't run and is soft but also is a genius
