The Blues second string was brought back down to earth tonight with a home defeat to the Pie Eaters. After a creditable draw against the shite last week, Alan Stubbs lads were undone by two Wigan goals either side of Craig McAleny's strike.
Five of the starting line up tonight where on the bench for the First team last Saturday, and the only notable exception was Maggie Gueye, which gives us an indication that Moyesy may be keeping him for the big boys this Saturday away at Wolves.
The game came to life after a dull first period when the Pie Eaters took the lead. Craig McAleny forced the Blues back level four minutes later when his low hard shot beat Welsby (Elton's lad) hands down in the Pie Eaters net.
The Blues were only level for five minutes before Wigan grabbed the games winner through Redmond.
