This Thursday at the Stobart Stadium in Widnes (KO: 7pm), Everton Ladies will be flying the flag for us in Europe as they take on FCR 2001 Duisburg of Germany, who won the European crown back in 2009.
Mo Marley has her work cut out to get past the Germans and also to raise the spirits of her players after their FA Cup defeat to Arsenal Ladies last Sunday.
This is the furthest the Ladies have come in Europe's elite competition, and if you fancy going down to Widnes to cheer the girls on in their first leg, prices are £2 adults and £1 for kids and you can't say fairer than that.
Good luck girls, your club needs you.
Mo said: 'Maybe this Champions League game was a bit more in the players' minds than the Arsenal game?
We'll find those answers outcome Thursday - how disappointed the players are, and how determined they are to make the performance right.'
Duisburg Coach Marco Ketelaer said: 'We have info on them. Everton are a very good, confident and successful team.
Maybe it will hinder them that they play their [second] competitive game after the winter break against us; on the other hand all their internationals have played several games already this year.'
