It was the blues first outing since winning the league 10 days before and they took their time to get in the game with Rhyl dominating the early possession but mid way through the First half Ynyr Jones was hand to smash the Blues into the lead when the ball fell kindly after a superb cross from Liam Jones but the game was soon level when Rhyl were given what looked like a soft penalty which was converted by Parry.
The Blues feeling aggrieved when straight on the offensive and within a couple of minutes had the lead back when Liam Jones finished well in the box to give Kipper a half time lead.
The Blues came out knowing the next goal would have a major bearing on the game and went in search of it and after coming close on a couple of occasions got the vital breakthrough when Ynyr Jones took down a cross and fired home the game seemed all but over as the Blues started to enjoy the game more and played with more freedom.
It only took one mistake to put Rhyl back in the game when Manager Peter Mcpartland tried to get in front of the Rhyl striker Murray to reach the ball only to push him down and concede another Penalty which Parry converted once more.
Rhyl started to throw everything they had at the Kipper defence which has been excellent all season but could not break them down with Keeper Neil Hignett only needing to make one save all game from open play and the Blues held out to complete a NFSL League and Cup double.
