In the absence of games due to the weather Bluekipper F.C. have been using Everton's Foundation new fitness scheme to stay fit.
The Premier League Men's Health project aimed at helping men aged between 18 and 35 years lead a more positive and healthy lifestyle, thanks to a grant from The New Football Pools, the innovative project at Goodison Park is a three year development initiative, which will be delivered by the Everton Foundation. Premier League Health offers men the chance to gain more information on various health issues and access regular advice in order to make healthy lifestyle choices.
The services, which are free of charge, include a range of weekly exercise opportunities, regular health checks, expert support and advice, pathways to education and a chance to meet sporting heroes.
The Premier League Health project will tackle six health themes using football as a call to action. Cancer, mental health, obesity, sexual health, smoking and alcohol and substance abuse will be addressed over the course of the season via a number of different exercises including outreach programmes run from Goodison Park, six matchday themed events, education and training and members of Bluekipper F.C were the first to get on board hoping the extra work will boast their trophy hopes this season.
At the moment the programme consists of a running club, football sessions at the Pitz and gym sessions at The Everton Foundation Centre based at the rear of the Park End.
