Johnny Heitinga has become a firm favourite with the Everton fans, but it has took a while for the Dutch International to reach this high standard. Johnny is happy to stay at Everton for a few more years before returning to his native Holland to play for Ajax.

Johnny said: "I think this is my best season for Everton so far and I hope I can keep the level up.

"It is one of my better seasons, maybe my best as a professional.

"But I am only 28 and there many years to come. I am only looking forward.

"The season is not over, there are four games to play and we want to surprise some teams and finish high up the league.

"There are points to play for and we want as many as we can get.

"I want to end my career at Ajax. I am 28 years old, I want a few more years abroad and then I would like to return to Ajax.

"The Premier League is a competition where I feel at home and I'm really enjoying myself.

"So I'm not looking too far ahead, but a return to Ajax is included in my planning."
