Howard In USA World Cup Win

Howard In USA World Cup Win

Everton keeper Tim Howard was in the USA's side which beat Antigua & Barbuda 3-1 in the early hours of this morning.

The win secured three points to kick off the USA's 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign.

Tim said: "Qualifying is horrendously difficult. I think Jurgen or someone said yesterday that between now and by the time we get to the World Cup we're going to play like 16 or 18 qualifying games.

"It's like you can knock that out in a day and you forget how long that that process actually takes. This is a small step on the way there.

"Tonight was a first step, and though it didn't look pretty I think there's going to be a lot of days along the way where we think, 'We got the three points.'"
