More Kit News

Blue Kipper has gone 'Salmon Pink' for the day, the colours of the new Everton away kit. It's based on the kit Everton had at the start of the 20th century. A 6 foot mosaic of Everton legend Sandy Young in the original salmon pink shirt can be seen at the entrance to The Alex Young suite. Sandy is remembered in Everton folklore as the player who scored the goal in the Toffees 1-0 win over Newcastle to win Everton's first FA Cup in 1906. What do you think?

Luckily enough Marcus bent doesnt play for us anymore, how many blokes would you have seen walking up priory road in a pink shirt with bent written on the back, this is a marketing disaster

This is truly awful and an insult to our great club. BK should have a pre season design comp; with a number of finalist designs being shortlisted. This should then be followed by a big fan vote. That way the kit colour and design would be truly the choice of the fans. A kit designed by the people, for the people's club; instead of the kit being created by some remote, fashion designing marketeering executive from London who probably has little if any association with the EFC.
Tim Griffiths, Ashton in Makerfield, 10:48 PM 4/06/2010

come on you pinks just dosn't sound right does it.

When I heard the kit would be pink I was looking forward to seeing it, I need something to off-set my rampant masculinity. But the actual design doesn't look right. I can't put my finger on exactly. Maybe the stripe is wrong, maybe it would be better with black rather than navy, or maybe Salmon Pink rather then "electric". Not sure.

It's fine, away kits are meant to be pretty dodgey aren't they?
John, London, 1:13 PM 4/06/2010

The only thing that is important about the new away shirt is the badge that will be over your heart when you wear it. The Everton badge. Colours don't matter, only the badge is important.
AL, Wallasey Village, 12:36 PM 4/06/2010

We will look like a bunch of puffs wearing this, was it designed by LeCOCK or Liberace! Wot next suzzies with me socks.

i think its well nice! I'm a bit concerned, why am I the only one that likes it? its better than last seasons away kit isn't it? mind you, if last seasons kit didn't have anything pink on it, this seasons away kit would have a much bigger negative impact on me, i think this will grow on people, always wanted something different. However I still stand by everyone who wants a nike or adidas brand to do our kits (maybe not adidas, I wouldn't want a blue version of an everton kit or something similar to chelsea)
david, north wales, 10:50 AM 4/06/2010

99
Nice one le coq sportif what did you spend about twenty minutes designing that. Unimagintive and cheap looking, been said before but where are addidas, nike or even puma? What do we have to do to become an attractive club too invest in? better than red though!
Scott, Fazak, 10:09 AM 4/06/2010

98
What a terrible kit why are we wearing Le coq sportif? why not Nike or adidas SOMTHING QUALITY PLEASE!!!
Ian Jones, Crosby,Liverpool, 9:10 AM 4/06/2010

97
Horrible kit for the fellas will be buying it for my two little girls though. Good way to get a new generation of girlies interested in the club. Think I will be sticking with the home kit. By the way are we getting a home kit the reds##te have already released theirs and yet again we are left wondering do we have a new home kit or not
mike, newton le willows, 9:01 AM 4/06/2010

I'm with Andy - suck it in soldier. Its different, its historic and frankly I look bloody gorgeous in pink. All this moaning - we are turning into LFC. What next 'sack Moyes' ....oh what have I started.....
Tony, Birkenhead, 8:14 AM 4/06/2010

95
On the plus side my nine year old daughter thinks its great that the new kit is pink. On the downside -where do you start?? Hope it might grow on me like last years black & pink. Shocked when I saw it. who gave this the nod?? Amber & blue -now thats a kit with history.
Ste H, Ormskirk, 8:04 AM 4/06/2010

94
I cant say enough negative things about this kit...but there is one positive...I am 100% sure that I can now find plenty of those pink kits for my wife and two girls... Me and the Lad will be wearing Blue..Blue and even more Blue....I still have the Prima Everton 100 year Jubillee away Kit, Dark Salmon Pink and Dark blue Stripes or bar codes...Bit like the Hull top,To small for me now..but at least the lad can look good in it.
Richy Styles, Kirkdale, 3:44 AM 4/06/2010

93
@Ryan, because we can appear in Europe without embarassing ourselves. But I agree, never ask the french to design/produce your kit. We had Airness a few years back and they were so shit, they couldn't even supply replicas for the fans to buy. Derp.
FulhamJoe, Fulham, 12:24 AM 4/06/2010

92
Get a grip you gang of whinging pricks, it's a kit, and to be honest all the same shit was getting bandied about last year when the black n pink one came out, but you all ended up getting it....why, because for some strange reason they actually grow on you, and to be honest, I think it is quite a cool one for the summer months at least. I had a pink Juve top 12 years ago and people thought it was boss back then.....we are reinventing. Pink is the new black, embrace!!
Andy Savage, Croxteth, 11:44 PM 3/06/2010

91
I don't think its bad, fair enough anything from last years away kit is an improvement. I quite like this kit, I'm just gutted we aren't having a new home kit, or are we? I reckon this will grow on people
David, North wales, 11:00 PM 3/06/2010

now im going to have to buy the pink boots to go with my shirt, no way can i be seen not matching

So our away top is pink, it could be worse imagine if it was red, had a liverbird with a couple of flames either side and standard chartered across the front........ fuck me i wouldn't be seen dead.. COYB.FTRS

Come on home or away we sing COYB. Come on you guys in pink does't have the same ring.
Tom c, Wigan, 7:49 PM 3/06/2010

87
love how the positive comments come mainly from the female fans, the fact is men don't wear pink. by all means bring out this kit and make it a third kit like united do, one which may generate revenue but will never be worn. Once again just as we start building on our reputation we do something like this to make us a laughing stock. Very dissapointed.
ged1878, liverpool, 6:42 PM 3/06/2010

This is what happens when the club produce a small amount of pink limited edition shirts to raise money for cancer research over the last couple of seasons and then thinks it can follow it up with a pink away shirt as they think everyone would buy it as the others were a success well i won't.'shocking'
james , walsall, 6:28 PM 3/06/2010

I'm afraid that I love it...ordered one already!! Our men are man enough to wear pink!!!

it will be good to see some of the ladies play in that shirt on away days

82
all the plaudits should go to kit bag who must have known they had to hit it big to pull this one off. kit bag did a great job on adverts and taking over the city...all clap hands there. but is this the worst idea for a football shirt ever? or is it just a clever way of saying we don't have to follow the pack and wear white or yellow. I myself would have prefered the shirt in black with the pink additions that would have taken us back to the roots. to answer all your questions you won't see the chosen one in this effort. lets hope we get our royal blue as we want.
derek"chosen one" houlton, lancs, 5:33 PM 3/06/2010

Bloody awful!! Le Coq Sportiff are not taking Everton seriously. Laughing stock

No amazing detail but it's the crest that counts! I will surely bear this strip at the local pub...I can take a punch just fine...they're the ones that'll have to explain to their brothers why they got a thrashin by a guy in a pink top! EFC For Life!
Derek "Donkey Dong" , Arizona, USA, 5:08 PM 3/06/2010

love it, love it, love it!!! yippeee a pink strip x

I'M NOT A FAN OF THIS NEW KIT BUT THINK ABOUT IT: NO MORE EXCUSES THAT "I DIDN'T SEE HIM" OR MISPLACED PASSES. EVERY PASS SHOULD GO TO A PINK SHIRT NOW AND WE SHOULD PLAY THE OPPOSITION OFF THE PARK!!! (UNLESS WE'RE PLAYING THE LOCAL GIRLS FOOTY TEAM THAT IS !)

This is more Benidorm than it is Barca...
Lewis, Oxford, 4:42 PM 3/06/2010

And people ask in this thread why Everton and Kitbag have released this first?? its obvious to me who would be daft enough to buy this after the home shirt would be released, I can see a bumper £9.99 sale in about six months, Kitbag claiming it a commercial success on EFC.COM at £42k that about less than a thousand people, what they failed to say is what the normal first release shirt is, lets face if they claim a sucess after hours, they protest too loudly for me. those sales are people that want whatever comes next what ever is new that isnt the people who would steadily buy the shirt over the next six to nine months. Kitbag and Le coq a manc french quango are really having a laugh at our expense.

I'd wear a pink dress as long as it had the everton crest on it.

Poor Tiny does not look too happy modelling this one. I take it this was rolled out the day after he signed his life away to the club. Still, it might make an appearance on the next series of Little Britain!
John, Southport, 2:54 PM 3/06/2010

its only a colour would rather pink than dirty amber. barca wore pink a year or so ago didn't harm them
stu, wirral, 2:48 PM 3/06/2010

68
This has probably been pointed out, but why oh why would the club want to release a kit that is akin to marmite! Surely the aim of marketing is to make sure the product appeals to all and therefore allows the maximum revenue for the club. This kit isnt salmon pink, its bright pink! This club is run by jokes and sadly we will look like jokes in this kit!!
Neil, Huyton, 2:47 PM 3/06/2010

Not to impressed. Especially at the thought of my vision after the Blackpool away game. Will the TV cameras have enough MegaPixels to cover that fixture?..........COYP's.

Typical, the day we get to laugh at the Red Sh*te we go and shoot ourselves in the foot by unveiling this garbage! Last seasons home shirt was crap, this is even worse! Unless your raving off your face in Ibiza lets face it lads, you wouldn't be seen dead in it!!!! I'm too old for Ibiza now, and I don't want me lads turning looking like Billy Elliot, so won't be parting with my hard earned for this rubbish. COYB!!!
Evo, Altrincham, 2:19 PM 3/06/2010

65
To the bloke complaining about Fulham getting Nike, they just get stock kits with no thought. Their home kit last season was exactly the same as MK Dons. I felt a bit doubtful about last seasons kits, but they all grew on me. I feel great and really proud playing footy in the home shirt, and thought the away looked great matched with jeans down the pub. Not convinced by this effort, but credit for originality. People said the same about sales last season, but we broke sales records. Wait and see.....
Grongy, Salford, 2:02 PM 3/06/2010

Well me missus will love it i'm sure - at least that's her birthday present sorted!!!!!!
Alan, Blackpool, 2:00 PM 3/06/2010

What people are failing to grasp here is sales. Home kit not out until mid July so when the everton kids want a new top for summer what will they ask for: How many boys will want to wear this? The club are completly clueless. If they wanted to do this fine at least bring home out at same time give people a choice. No instead lets alienate our biggest market segment in our busiest period for selling. LCS Les Croq of Shit....
andy, in work, 1:55 PM 3/06/2010

62
Just spoken to someone coming away from the Megastore who said the shirt is selling well... so that flies in the face of some of the overtly negative comments on here. I'm sure I read somewhere that Everton have one of the highest proportions of female supporters of all the clubs in the Prem and if this shirt sells well to them/goes any way to attracting a few more ladies to the club, then it's fine by me.
Andy C, Wavertree, 1:47 PM 3/06/2010

61
If last years away kit was a bit effeminate, this one is screaming Mardi Gras! Who the hell was responsible for this- ridiculous!
Davy P, Liverpool, 1:39 PM 3/06/2010

60
The LCS kits are MILES better than the Umbro kits which were always just the same as Leeds and Chelsea kits. At least this is different, unique and our own. I swear that we have more "fans" interested in whinging about the club, Kenwright and anything else possible that is not really relevant than getting behind the players and the stuff that matters on the pitch. Go support the shite if it bothers you that much, you'll fit right in with your negativity.
Michael, Leeds, 1:32 PM 3/06/2010

Oh dear! Why do you continually get it wrong with kit choices? Listen to what fans want as someone suggested,it`s not difficult keep it basic Royal Blue home, Amber away, more kit revenue, simple.

Apparently this monstrosity has been designed to make players more visible in their team mates "peripheral vision". By this reasoning I shudder to think what colour Le Coq Shitif have in mind for the home kit ! Electric blue anyone !!!
KP, Germany, 1:15 PM 3/06/2010

51
This really is a "joke" ? "Isn't it ?. We are not really wearing this ?. Bazooka Joe pink !! Cant wait for the sequined chang elephants on the home shirt.
Baz, Warwrickshire, 1:04 PM 3/06/2010

Revolution? Revolting more like!! What an absolute load of bollocks. Why does the club put up with Le Crap and their shite kits? Didn't they learn in the 80s with the white bib shirts (what a load of toss that was). I'm not wasting my money on it.
Noggin, Stavanger, Norway, 1:03 PM 3/06/2010

49
That is a disgrace, though it may not look as bad in the shop but god - Get rid of it. one of the last songs sang in goodison was 'who is the knob head in the pink' to the portsmouth goalkeeper. Oh just so it does not go un-noticed the goal keepers kit is just as grim!!!

Horrible horrible horrible!!! Absolutely right - get rid of LQS ASAFP!!! They are damaging our image!!! Shit kits last season and god knows how bad the new home shirt will be. Go back to Umbro (OK theyre not the best but we have used 'em for years) and please please please just have a simple away kit that is either white, yellow or black. Don't the club listen to their fans at all?????? I personally think the best kits we had in recent years were the Puma ones when KEJIAN were the sponsers, they were quality, stylish kits.
Noel, Leicester, 12:30 PM 3/06/2010

45
Nothing but praise for it on the official site!! Spooky that!! Just Rank!!! Hold your head in shame "Pink Bill"
Pete Aston, Stamford, 12:25 PM 3/06/2010

44
What did I tell you all about 3 weeks ago??... Neon Pink! The best thing about the new kits is the goal keeper shorts, Blue, White and Yellow, what our colours should be, nothing else!
1=20, Tuebrook, 12:25 PM 3/06/2010

43
What the!?!?!? Who in their right mind thought this colour would be right for a football strip!?? Newcastle Utd shirt was bad a season or so ago - well this is leauges beyond that!! Anyone with eyesight will accept this is an abomination! I work in Manchester and ever single person has simply laughed! - quotes I have had so far - "everton ladies" "laughing stock" "simply awful" Another away shirt that needs to be eradicated from memory
Si Harwood, Bolton, 12:22 PM 3/06/2010

42
Wouldnt it be a good idea to bring out our Home kit first and release it early doors so people can buy it and take it away this summer on holiday? Seems like perfect Marketing sense to me, instead we are given this piece of shit, with no date of the home kit coming out.
Andy C, Liverpool, 12:19 PM 3/06/2010

looks good. probably are next targets for shirt sponsorship!!!! To be fair to EFC they are posting negative comments on the website so all please loging and tell thme how you feel.

39
I personally like this kit and think you should all stop moaning and get behind the team not the shirt ! I also think the pic on here does it no justice. The guys wearing it on the efc website look good in it. Whens the home kit due to be released?
vicky, north yorks, 12:08 PM 3/06/2010

38
Will everyone stop complaining, i actually quite like it, it looks lovely with the dark shorts and the black socks, i'm quite happy with it. But seriously stop moaning, we wear this kit like, 8 times or something, if that!?
Mike, Liverpool, 11:57 AM 3/06/2010

37
Another year voted worst kit without question! I was disappointed in both tops last year and bought a training top instead. Can only think tens of thousands lost revenue since "Le Cock". I can't imagine Moyes seeing this & thinking that is the new Everton away kit, What a joke. Still I suppose our reto kit sales might rise?
James Mason, Hereford, 11:55 AM 3/06/2010

36
Awome - really think it is fantastice - Everton setting the trend as always
BobsUrUncle, Netherlands, 11:49 AM 3/06/2010

35
Terrible, and yet the club websites comments all praise this terrible kit, whilst the true feelings are shown on BK. The club must be filtering the opinions. It just adds to the embarresment. Bill Keep the theatre costumes for the theatre, we will always be proud of the blues but its a pink kit for gods sake.
CD , MIDDLE OF NORTH SEA, 11:48 AM 3/06/2010

34
Frankly, this kit is shit, but I think this might be a cunning piece of marketing for a change. Given the success of the Pink Breast Cancer Awareness Kit, I think that they will look to sell this Away kit to the Female proportion of Blues Fans, which will mean that households are buying at least two lots of kits. Should pay for Beckford's wages at any rate. Full marks marketing department, no marks to Le Coq though.
Gertrude, Liverpool, 11:45 AM 3/06/2010

33
I struggle to understand how the club would allow a pink kit. Palermo have had a pink kit for years and have been the laughing stock of European football, why to the blues have to follow suit? Why don't they survey the fans to find out what we want instead? As Karl from Wallasey said they have lost lots of money in kit sales with this one...maybe the girls will buy it!
Barry, Warrington, 11:32 AM 3/06/2010

32
Fuck me lads it's only a colour. i think the style's decent and the colours okay, if a bit bright. better some of the kits we've had in the past anyway!

For fucks sake. It looks shite. Will someone in the Everton board room please ring Adidas, they don't fuck around and make crap looking kits. Our boys are going to look like bottles of PeptoBismal on away days. Epic kit fail.

This is ace! My only problem is that navy hoop thing. I agree with John though bring back amber away kits. If we are wearing pink why not do like Umbro did with the breast cancer cause? Go the whole hog but do it for charity? Why are Irish teams, Villa and Sheff Wed making us look tight?

You have to be kidding, right? I don't like it, but i am going to buy it and wear it and i will feel proud in it......i think!!! :-S

I kinda like it, but won't be purchasing it. Le Cocks stupid sizing means the Small is too small, but Medium is too big ... As last seasons kit proved Also, changing both kits every season, and putting the price up just irritates. Especially when, if you wait till xmas, you will get it half price.

Tell me it's a joke someone. Is it just me or do the players (especially Timmy C) look totally p****d off modelling the thing ? Not really going to have the mickey taken out of us are we? Cant think of a word to describe it so used two instead "Feckin horrible".
KC, Liverpool, 10:45 AM 3/06/2010

whats with the pink again? everton have historically won things with other kits more recentley than 1906 like yellow/amber and blue i think everton fans would be more willing to wear that colour than this hideous thing it leaves us wide open for kopites allover to take the piss i wouldnt be seen dead in it , i worry now for the home kit.

We will be a laughing stock playing in pink. The away kit should be amber jerseys, end of

Isn't there an American prison govenor that makes all the inmates wear pink? unless you're going to garlands for a night out would you wear it, yet another commercial disaster by the club. BTW an bit of trivia, Sandy Young emigrated to the States and was hung for murder, it's a pity the same couldn't have happened to the knob that thought this would be a good idea

Horrible Top. Horrible collar. No problem with the pink and black just which they would stop giving us round neck tops with no collar. Home kit better have a collar on it or another year with no kit! I'm prob too old to buy the kit anyway, but we'll look like t1ts in that top

Well in Everton, another laughing stock of a kit. I thought it couldn't get worse than last season. Why dont they listen to the fans? Blue home kit, amber away kit. Too hard too ask for? Either the person who decides on our kits is either Paul O'Grady or a Kopite!

In Kitbag's PR blurp they mention the Design. All I can see is a lack of design and effort. Colour is ok but the design and brand are awful. The sooner LQS go the better.
