We've all already given blood for Everton and now we all have another chance.
Goodison is to host an event to help promote National Blood Week. All Toffees can donate at two special sessions which will take place in the People's Club lounge on June 19 between 2-4pm and 5.30-7.30pm.
Defender Shane Duffy has reason to encourage all to attend. Two years ago Duffers lacerated his liver in a freak collision while on Ireland duty and lost 3.6 litres of blood, around two-thirds of his supply. Life-saving surgery and over 20 units of blood put him on the road to recovery and he understandably knows how important it is that donors continue to come forward.
Duffers said: 'Everyone knows just how much I owe to blood donors. They saved my life - it's as simple as that. Giving blood is something that a lot of people are happy to leave to others because they think the supply will always be there.'
'That's not the case and I would urge any Evertonians in the area to pop along and start giving blood.'
Appointments to donate are available via www.blood.co.uk or by calling 0300 123 23 23 . Alternatively donors can just turn up during the times advertised.
