On Saturday, Everton wore a special one-off charity shirt against Norwich. During this game, the usual Chang logo was replaced with the Power of Thai logo.
The Power of Thai is a fundraising organization setup by 12 Thai companies and spearheaded by ThaiBev (which is the owner of Chang). The aim of the charity organization is to help raise £2m to help in the regeneration of their country following the tragic flooding earlier this year.
Thai Bev said: 'Following the natural disaster that recently swamped mainland Thailand unfortunately resulting in hundreds of deaths, thousands of casualties and hundreds of thousands of people losing their homes, possessions and livelihoods, ThaiBev, brewers of Chang is launching a far reaching appeal to provide 'Floodwater Relief' for a country that also in the not too distant past suffered from a devastating tsunami.'
'Chang has taken the opportunity of supporting the much needed fundraising and associated PR effort by replacing the Chang logo usually featured on the Club's playing kit with a specially commissioned logo incorporating Thailand's flag combined with the Thai and English statement 'Power of Thai' for today's game.'
The match-worn shirts will be auctioned off with all proceeds going to the Power of Thai Campaign.
Nice touch, well done Everton.
