Everton flew into Salzburg, Austria last night for the start of the five-day pre-season training camp. They will be based in Obertraun up in the mountains were they will be doing the hard graft, bike riding and paddling in freezing cold mountain streams.
The party included new signing Steven Naismith, but not Nikica Jelavic. He will miss the trip due to being invloved in Euro 2012, along with Darron Gibson, Johnny Heitinga, Phil Jagielka and Leighton Baines.
Tim Howard and Tim Cahill will also miss the trip as they were involved in World Cup qualifiers.
The senior players here are Skipper Phil Neville, Sylvain Distin, Tony Hibbert and Leon Osman. The rest of the squad is made up of fringe players and youngsters, but without Ross Barclay who is away three other talented Everton youngsters with the England Under 19's squad.
So it maybe a time for the likes of Francisco Junior, Jack Rodwell, Maggie Gueye, and Conor McAleny to make an early impression.
Naisy said: "Being away in that kind of environment will give you that chance to get to know your teammates a bit better. "Not everyone's here at the moment but I'm sure over the course of the next month or so I'll get to know them all. "I met a lot of the players first thing this morning and they were more than welcoming and made a point of coming to see me. It's really nice to get that from your teammates at such an early stage."
