Victor Anichebe doesn't want the super sub tag. He wants to start more games.

Victor has scored his three leagues this season coming from the bench and the role seems to suit him well. What we don't you to do Vic is to stop scoring when you do come on from the bench. The way to get rid of the tag is to score when you start a game.

Big Vic said: "I tried to rubbish that super-sub tag from the Europa League a few years back but it seems to be following me round.

"Hopefully I can start a few more games soon. The manager keeps putting me in and then taking me out and just trying to help me really. Obviously I have had the injuries and I hadn't trained for a few days before Wigan so it is important to be careful."

I think some of the comments below are very harsh. Victor has improved a lot this season and his workrate is a lot better than in the past. Being able to play and wide and move up front means we can make tactical changes during games without using a sub. To say vellios and stracq are miles ahead of him in terms of talent very inaccurate. Remember all 3 of vellios' goals have all came from the bench and the couple of games he has started he looked poor. Stracq has showered lately he has the determination and workrate but theres still not much sign of genuine talent so you cant say these two players are miles ahead. Victor hasnt had a decent run of games in recent years so give him a proper chance and stop bad mouthing him just for stating he's eager to play game and impress

I think the fact that the lad wants to start every game is an indication as to the lads confidence at the minute. I would rather have him complaining about not starting than not scoring and to be fair to him I think the main reason none of the strikers are doing particularly well is down to the service, they just weren't getting any. That has now clearly improved since the arrival of Landon but we still lack creativity. Four goals and now our top scorer, facts don't lie people - get off his back, he deserves his start end of.

If the tag was good enough for one of the best Professionals of all time (even though he is a Manc) - Ole Solskjaer - then it's good enough for Vic.

I think the lad better get used to the tag or look for another club..With Straq and Niki and Velli miles ahead of him in terms of talent he just isnt good enough to start more games

Supersub suits him well. Anichebe comes at the right time - when opposition defenders are tired and he bullies them up.

Good comment below. Simple fact is his goals/games ratio is poor over a long period of time irrespective off injuries. And its obvious thats whilst he manages to stick the ball in the net against 'poor' opposition, he is technically a poor player. I honestly can't believe he is still wearing a blue shirt he should be in the championship. I'd of rather kept the Yak and Beckford.

Look victor you can bleat all you want about wanting to start more but the brutal harsh fact is when you do start it just doesn't happen for you lad. Let's just leave it the way it is hey. The words impact and player spring readily to mind your 3 goals have won us 5 points coming off the bench think that says it all really super sub
