Don't Go Boss

With all the talk about Harry Rednapp being a nailed on certainty to be the next England manager.  The rumours have started about his replacement at Spurs.

Inevitably David Moyes will be near the top of the list of possibilities. Could you blame Moyesy going if the chance came his way? Would Moyes want to stay here to win a trophy we all want?

If he did go, who would we get to run the ship?

What would the players say? Well Johnny Heitinga has had his say

Johnny said "It is all rumours and you need to wait to see what will happen. It's not up to me. But the manager has been here for 10 years and, in my eyes, he is the right person for this club. He is the right man for Everton.

"In the past, Everton were fighting to stay in the League,  a few years later they were playing in the FA Cup Final and fighting for a Champions League place.

"Moyes is the right man for us. What he has done is unbelievable.

"Behind Ferguson and Wenger, he is the third longest serving manager. He is vital to everything Everton want to do. The fans here love him and he is the main reason why the club has been doing so well."

If/when Moyes chooses to leave, Phil Neville will be the next Everton manager.

If Harry gets the England job I'm sure Klinsman will be the new Spurs boss not Moyes so no worries

Beware Matt what you wish for. Remember the last time we took a promising manager from Norwich. Phil Neville for me !

If moyes were to go, there is only one candidate surely? Paul lambert at Norwich is working wonders with an even more limited budget than we have. They play decent football and he's got European experience from his time in Germany. Not sure the Norwich board would be that keen to deal with us after the mike walker deal in the past thou!

If Wedknapp gets the England job as seems likely and if Moysey is lured darn sarf, much as I loved him as a player, I would have my doubts about giving Peter Reid the job. I wouldn't want Roy Keane, the FSW, but I'd give Chris Hughton a go, or Gordon Strachan. Hughton is douing a great job at Birmingham with little resources and Strachan has won s both player and manager so knows what it takes, plus he's much more fun to listen to than most.

Listen Gaffer, don't go! Been there done that and couldn't even be arsed buying the tshirt (have you seen the cost of stuff in London). The only good thing about the place was they had comfy seats in their dugout! But apart from that the place is nothing like here. Stay here and keep me with you PLEASE! I don't want to go back and have to shower infront of Gareth Bale :(

What a great squad of players to inherit if he goes (apart from Saha). I heard that he's off to spurs by April and Blue Bill will get Reid in. Heard it here first lads. Don't be fooled by today's result, Moyes is past his sell by date.

Fekk Spurs, they will always have a great history stopped in the 1960S glory days but in modern times what have done? Moyesey is no mug, the grass is very rarely greener on the other side. Guss Hiddink will end up there, he fits their requirements. Goodison,Bellfield, Finch Farm, ST Lukes Church, the supporters are is in his blood. The club needs him now more than ever, he is the only part of the SMT who actually relates to the real issues facing EFC on and off the Park. IMWT!!

Jeez these Spurs fans make me laugh giving it large about Moyes not being a big club manager etc WTF do they think they are? Leed got to the SEMI final of the European Cup and have won the league title during the past FIFTY years so are they not a much bigger club? I'm 47 and have never seem Spurs win the league, come to think of it I've never seen them win anything really. Joke club with joke fans hope we muller them when they come to Goodison and in doing so ensure that they slip out of the Chumpions League spots.

Hugh I'm sure you have a sanity check up there in the north Wales hills. But the people who go to matches, day in day out, are not the people who bung in a fatuous grenade and wait to see the online outcome. The People who follow Everton are actually quite clever. And you are not.

Everton should be in more than UEFA leagues and the odd F.A. cup final. Moyes hasnt done enough and i say Spurs dont expect attactive football if harry leaves for the England job and you get D.M. be prepared for boring negative football

On the one hand we could get in a more attack minded manager and push on, on the other we could make a poor decision and end up dropping from our current top table/in and out of Europe position. Over the years Moyes has done a great job with limited resources and I think its a case of better the devil you know. I think many top managers would be put off the job by the financial constraints anyway. I hope Moyes stays, despite not always agreeing with all of his tactics.

I wonder how green that grass is looking? hopefully Moyes will see it right. All those players that have left and not done anywhere near aswell. And Piennar coming back better than ever looked half the player in Spurs team.

As good as Moyes is, Spurs would not want him, three reasons, firstly style of play, not the Spurs way, secondly, has not got the knowledge needed for CL and 3rd and more importantly, he does not have the working ability to keep TOP stars like Modric, Bale etc. as nice as Moyes is, Pinnar is the 'top' player you have and he could not cut it at Spurs ... 3 yrs ago I would have said yes to Moyes but now, no we have moved on .. he has not (but he should have) ...

I'm slightly worried if he does go, but I'm going to play Devils Advocate here and suggest that IF we could actually attract someone with a modicum of managerial nouse maybe a change wouldn't be such a bad thing..The problem is who??..
