Desperate For The Final

David Moyes was desperate for the fans to have a final. But again he and his team have failed to deliver when it matters most.

The fans gave it their all on the day but unfortunately they were not rewarded,

David Moyes said: "We were so desperate to get to the final for the supporters. We felt that we were in good shape and in good mind to win this game and get to the final. So obviously when it goes like that I feel for them all. We are all in it together whether it is someone who makes a mistake or not. The team feels it and that is the way it is here.

The support was great, it really was, and I am so disappointed not to be able to give them a final. Also against your local rivals it makes it even harder to take. I know exactly how they are feeling.

How must our lads have felt going into the game on the back of Moyes's comments of they are favourites. We have competed with some far superior RS teams than this piss poor out outfit and come out on top. Next time in the derby week he needs to build us up and put the scum down for what they are. Just try it there's nothing to lose. He's done a great job for us but these games need a different approach.

10 years without a trophy in Moysey's reign doesn't sound good, but would you swap it for the 10 years pre Moyes when we did win a trophy but fought against relegation for most of it? Those were in the days before money had such an impact, the job is much harder now. That said, can't understand why he breeds this mentality that makes us shit ourselves every time we play them.

Agree with 3.Dave & 5.El cid(you sum up how i feel). Having in my life time went through the other semi's(though 71 i was only 4)& 3 cup finals, it's what i expected! Since Feb we've played really well apart from the 1st 20 mins v Arsenal & the 2 Derbies. It's hard to take because they are so bad. I did make a comment after our draw against Sunderland saying i didn't fancy a semi-final against them. It wasn't put on the site. I suppose because i was so negative. Saturday was just what i was expecting but we have to move on & a very very small crumb of consolation would be to finish above them! Onwards & Fuckin' upwards!!

With out Moyes we wouldn't be in an FA cup semi final and we'd also probably be in the championship or league one

No passion, you never show your hurt, the players never show any anger, if they lose its oh well, no one on the pitch cares when things are going wrong. No directon. 2nd is Nothing.

As gutted as anyone and sat with my Grandson. We went from ecstasy to tears but we win together and we lose together and then move on. We need to keep Moyes - what is the alternative?? What other quality manager will come to us with no budget and achieve what he has? Get real and in Moyes we must trust and thank him for the good times. Remember Walter Smith, Mike Walker etc etc.

To be fair, he picked the same side that destroyed Sunderland. He cannot be faulted there. We know he's defensive minded but I'm afraid a lot of players were their own worst enemies yesterday. I'm gutted to lose like that, if we had played anything like we have in the last 4 weeks we would have pissed it. I wish they would forget this 'underdog' crap, we are above them in the league, have a better record and have been playing some great football. Just come out and say it. Get a bit of confidence and belief in your team, the facts speak for themselves. We're gonna go there and win because we're the form team. As long as we still think like a small team or underdog we always will be. COYB!! Finish above that shower!

Hope you've learnt a lesson here Moyes...... if not, there's no hope for you anywhere.........The more you think about it the worse it gets.........definitely the tactics for the 2nd half was the cause and not the players.....spot on in the first half. Why change something that wasn't broken? Should have waited until it was creaking at least then switched tactics. Those tactics always leads to mistakes especially when you know your in control. He is a great league manager because these percentage tactics do work overall the whole season results prove that, but cup games pffffftttt. Its just 1 game you have to win with win tactics not percentage tactics.

Its 11 v 11 and form counts for nothing in derbies, its a case of really who wants it most.. I still believe that mentally that we did nt have enough true grit which is normally our trademark.. For me it will be another 35 years and by then God knows where most of us will be but this was the game were they were there to take, 3rd choice one foot keeper and we barely had 4 shots on target. Its got to be in the mind, when we play this shower..The goals summed up the game, shit defending, and lack of a positive mental approach. For the life in Im already over it and ready for Manure, character test. We have been here many times especially with the RS, and this season we still cant beat them. I dont get wound up, by them any more as life is too short,, Im older and a little bit wiser. Half time and mentally we were not there in the 2nd half. What happens now in the summer who knows, but lets move on and no feeling sorry, as there is nothing to be sorry for. We blew it in time honoured fashion, and thats to me the saddest thing of all about yesterday. Fekkn one day we do them in a big game soon??

David Moyes has had ten years, we've won nothing. Reluctantly, time for a change - can't wait another ten years for nothing to happen - getting older and greyer with almost every match!

Bitterly bitterly disappointed. I can just about take losing a semi to any other team, i can even put up with losing a semi to the redshite if we have a good reason to blame the defeat on eg clive owen 1977, Hanson's handball on the line in 1984. What i find difficult to take is losing to a team we should have beaten easily from a winning position and with no bad decision to blame, just our own bad play - said before the game that if we scored first we would win because they must have had no confidence having lost so many games. We started slow but then put some nice one touch moves together and were showing we were the better footballing team. When we went one up we should have gone for the kill. Instead we sat back, gave them as much ball as they wanted and invited them onto us, until they had all the momentum and built their confidence back. "there for the taking" sums it up. Having said that Moyes is still the best manager in the premier, he and his team just made a big mistake......but why have they done it twice against the shite? they need to learn from it but it won't hurt them as much as it hurts us.

All blame must rest squarely on the shoulders of Mr Moyes. He just cant bring himself to set a team up in a big big game in anything other than a " stop them scoring and try to nick it formation ". He is a good manager, but even the most ardent Moyes supporters must now realise that we are never ever going to win anything whilst he is our manager. I have never seen so many posters on Blue Kipper as angry as this and that to me says a lot.

Let's not be blaming Sylvain for this. He has been amazing all season. We are a team, the supporters and the players. We will all fall together and pick ourselves up together, that's what we do. We are Everton. Of course we are all hurting now but we will soon bounce back.
