Moyes Thinks Rodwell Should Forget About London 2012
Bookmark and Share

Jack Rodwell has been the face of the Team GB football team on advertising boards throughout the country for the London 2012 Olympic games.

But Everton manager David Moyes thinks his fitness is a problem which could keep him out of the games.

Our Jack was selected in Stuart Pearce's provisional squad of 80 (bet you can't name them!) along with team mate Phil Jagielka, but the aim is to get him fit for the start of next season after four hamstring injuries on the bounce.

Moyesy said: "He is running quite a bit but I'm not quite sure how far along he is.

"I'm not sure yet what would benefit Jack.

"I wouldn't be mad keen on him going if I didn't think he was going to be right.

"He has pulled his hamstring now three or four times.

"I have got to make sure that he is going to be right. Everton is where his priority should lie."

got to agree with tony on this one not a prayer any top club is going to come in for him offering silly money his injury record has seen to that i reckon we d be lucky to get near 10 mil for him and then im being kind anyway were a far more creative side when hes not in it in my opinion gibson has shown hes a far better bet even at this early stage the worrying thing is hes had a couple of niggling injuries since he signed hope its not a shape of things to come

He was playing well until he got injured again, then a run of break downs due to pressure from Everton and England to get back as soon as possible... I agree with Karl from Scotty Road, he will no doubt try to play through the pain and maybe we will be able to sell him for a fraction of the £30 million Man Utd reportedly offered for him a few seasons ago... 10 weeks training should see him come good as long as he isn't pressured into playing games right now... Good luck Jack we wish you all the best! its a Win Win situation for us no matter what happens.

Sorry, this lad will NEVER make a prem footballer. He's injury prone and doesn't have the bottle to beat it.

I think Moyes is dead right, the lad needs rest and rehabilitation, he has 10 weeks to get sorted before the Olympics, normally thats plenty of time, but.....if he pulls up injured i can understand Moyes going ballistic. I hope which ever shirt they wear is better that that dreadfull design above. Good luck to all our atheletes

Too right he'll be there. He will play through pain and bust a gut for GB. Hopefully he will fluke some descent form within the games, and we can sell him for a monster over the top fee. One of the most overrated, One dimensional player I have ever seen at my beloved club. If you handed him a water pistol, he still couldn't shoot. Crap

Don't think rodwell will ever shake off these injuries - I know that sounds pessimistic but the signs are not good. Saying that, gerrard at liverpool had a lot of niggly injuries as a young lad and seemed to overcome them with age so you never know! Fingers crossed for the boy.
